Was wondering if anyone has bought the new cookbook that was released this month. I bought a copy and it looks like there are some good recipes in it. I have only tried two things so far and was wondering if anyone else has tried some things and can comment on them.

Oh, I saw this on BL and went to Barnes and Noble's in search of it..no luck! Where did you find it? Are they easy to do recipes, or fancy stuff? :rotfl2: Anne

I bought mine from Amazon.com. The recipes do look easy to do. Nothing looks difficult in my mind.

I haven't made anything yet, but this weekend I plan on making the Angel Hair with Rocking Red Clam Sauce.

The recipes look really good!!

Tiggerlover - What have you made so far and what did you think of them?

I have the Biggest Loser cookbook. I ordered it directly from the manufacturer and paid $10.95 and no shipping. Certain states have to pay tax and I live in one of them. The link at that price is here.

I actually got it at my local Barnes and Noble store. Wish I had bought it online as it was $6 cheaper. I paid the full $21.95 price plus tax. I think Amazon had it for $16 (and if you spent $25 you got free shipping).

The recipes look and seem easy enough.

MelanieC, I made the almost fast food burger which was good (6 PTS) and the mini lemon poppy seed muffins, which are just okay, but only 1 PT a piece. I am making the better blueberry muffins for breakfast tomorrow (2 PTS) and can't wait to try the ground turkey nachos (5 PTS) and the BBQ chicken pizza snack wedges (8PTS). Would love to hear how the clam sauce recipe turns out!

DS and I tried the blueberry pancakes this morning and they are a thumbs down, they just weren't doing it for me. My WW leader suggested I try the light pancake mix so maybe I will buy some the next time I go to the grocery store.

I haven't tried anything yet, but read through last night and really like the concepts/recipes. I'm looking forward to trying some recipes soon!

When you try them be sure to stop back by and let us all know how they turned out!

I just ordered Devin's other book, Fast Food Fix, where she lightens up Fast food stuff. I'm interested to see how she does it. I'll let you know.

I tried the Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins- no go in our family, they seemed to thick!

Tried Champ's Chicken Quesadilla- Super good seasoning! My DD said we should have this on just chicken breasts. Definetly A+

Tried Better Blueberry Pancakes- Ok,

Tried Sunrise Oatmeal- OK, a little too orange

Tonight I'm trying Pecan Crusted Chicken and Cajun Fries (w/ potatoes not squash).

Pecan Crusted Chicken- mixed reviews, some liked it alot, some didn't. I thought it was a neat combination of flavors.
Cajun Fries- okay
Picante Chicken- very good reviews by all.

Hi everyone,

I made the Angel Hair with Rocking Red Clam Sauce. I used crushed tomatoes instead of the one they called for and bought the most all natural canned clams instead of the pouch - I didn't like the preservatives in the pouch. I also made much more than they called for - I used to cans of clams and two cans of tomatoes.

I put 1 cup of sauce on 1 cup of pasta. The kids liked it, although my DD told me (and I agree) that 1 cup of sauce was too much. It was very tomato tasting. I think it would be better to stretch the meal to 1/2 cup of sauce (although an entire cup was only like 2.5 WW points). Would definately make this again.

I used regular 100% Whole wheat pasta for the above recipe. I was able to find the Nutrition Kitchen soybean pasta this past weekend. I made it on sunday for myself and cooked for 5 minutes and I put 2 tsp olive oil, shredded parmesean and crushed pine nuts on it. The pasta was a bit over cooked. I read in the book the person who wrote it prefers it to be cooked 3 minutes instead of the 5-7 it says on the package. I would agree with that and will make it again soon. I think it would taste really good in a soup type dish (there is one in the Biggest Loser cookbook) and with a tomato type pasta sauce. There is about 23 gams of protein in that pasta - That's amazing!

It is great to see the reviews, nice to have tried and true responses!

westcliffemom, we ended up throwing out all of the lemon poppy seed muffins, the taste just wasn't there for us.

I have have been so busy that I haven't had time to try anything else, but it is on the list. I am anxious to see if there is a recipe for the strawberry mousse thing they made on the show last night, it looked yummy!

I actually had went to the jello site and got that recipe and tried it the night before, my dd and I were like, that's what we had last night. So it's out there, check the BL site first, then Jello.

Edited to add: it was very good, and here's the link for the recipe:

Thanks for the link, I will have to give this a try as it is only 1PT for Weight Watchers and it looks so yummy!
