The BIGGEST Act of Kindness in the History of VMK took place today!!!!

Today I got a message from qruthie and so I found her in a pirate lobby. She said she wanted to trade with me, but she wanted nothing in return.

SHE WON A SPARROW SUIT FOR ME TO GIVE TO CAPE DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She knew how much I've been wanting to trade or win a Sparrow suit for Cape dude, and today she won one, just for him!! Is that the most generous, thoughtful thing you've ever heard of?!?!?!?!?!

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, qruthie, FOR MAKING CAPE DUDE'S LITTLE PIRATE HEART, and mine!!!, SO HAPPY TODAY!!!!

Cape Dude and I were truly surprised and touched by qruthie's thoughfulness and generosity!!!

Thank you all for your kind words. I really didn't want to make a big deal of it. I've been trying off and on to win a suit for Cape Cad ever since I found out he didn't have one yet. I play the pirates game in between rounds of Yeti Level 3 when VMK is closed. I figure 5 credits is better than none. I will probably continue to play the pirates game to see if I can win another suit for Cape Girl. Wouldn't that be totally amazing?

One thing that motivated me to try to win a suit for the Capes is how generous and kind they have been to so many VMK players and not just DIS members. I know Cape Girl goes way out of her way to help new players and to add them to her friends list when possible. Cape Cad has helped many people get their characters up to Level 3 of Pirates. I also remember them creating characters at WDW in order to get black Mickey ears for a huge list of people. This doesn't even begin to list the kindness they have spread throughout VMK and most likely in their real lives. I'm honored to have them as friends in the game. I hope to meet them outside of VMK some day. The Capes are wonderful role models and are a good example to follow if you want to become a community leader.

I honestly have to say, I have rarely played the lottery and when I did, I don't think I ever even won a free ticket! In VMK, I never won a set of Narnia teleporters! I traded for some eventually. So the thought of winning two Sparrow outfits just amazes me. I did get three inferno pins so maybe things really do come in threes and Cape Girl will soon be dressed as Jack Sparrow!

Aww Q my friend, I still remember you asking me one day a few questions regarding gifting of one of your infernos. I also see all those heartfelt RAOKs about you and what you have done. I just want to say I am honored to be friends with such a role model as yourself!

I do hope you get your wish fulfilled, of getting to meet the Capes in person. Amazing you haven't already run into them with all the DIS meets and how truly close you are to them! But somehow, I just know it will happen!

(I do have to say you do seem to have remarkable luck in VMK with the rarer items! While it is widely recognized that CapeCad is "the" ultimate pirate player, I myself have been trying for these months, to win a Sparrow suit for another true pirate - PirateDaisy. Yet you have run yourself into two of them already! I wonder if you would mind if I just "touched" you, to see if a bit of that luck might rub off on me! Well, anything is possible with Disney magic, right?)

It SO nice to read about a good deed done in vmk rather than a bad one...I am reading this board off and on and nearly everyday I am seeing a new thread protesting the awful interactions or experiences in vmk -- it is so nice to come here and finally see a GOOD one for a change!

You mean from a "ruthie"? remember, the q is silent . I'm going to try to be generous to people, I've been trying off and on. It's so hard when, as you said, all you hear about are people cheating and calling you names, but think of all those good times in vmk when someone has come up to you and asked to be your friend, doesn't that just make you feel great?

Well, qruthie (ruthie), I can't believe you have THAT much karma in you. I've never won a narnia teleporter, sparrow suit, staff pin, nothing. Well, hope you get that third (and maybe a 4th heh heh) and I'm glad to hear another DIS'er is helping out!
