the best

I spent quite awhile researching travel insurance companies recently. There are a lot of mixed reviews about, I started by using price comparison sites but in the end I went with a company called Holiday Safe because they are recommended by money saving expert and which? I haven't got any personal experience of making a claim with them or anything though.

We used elephant I think, it had pretty decent cover and a low excess and was only about £40 to cover both of us. But like the pp I've no experience of claiming from them

Mine is with Holiday Extra - 16 days cover for £33ish for me and my partner - includes a decent medical, cancellation, baggage and personal liability cover. It was basically the cheapest policy I could find that covered the whole cost of our holiday in the cancellation cover! Have never claimed from them (and touch wood will never have to!) so no idea how good they would be then.

I used Holiday Safe as well. They were recommended but no experience of claiming from them sorry!

Check your bank account as they sometimes offer free travel insurance. I got mine through my Nationwide account. I get free European cover and it was £20 to upgrade to annual worldwide cover.:thumbsup2
