The best, the worst...Bathrooms of the World!

For years We've always noticed an aweful odor right outside the restrooms next to entrance to the Pooh & friends character greeting spot just before the bridge to DinoLand U.S.A.. We thought that the odor was coming from the restrooms, so we never used them, thinking that they must be absolutely disgusting. On our last trip we finally used these restrooms and to our surprise the restrooms were clean and the odor we smelled outside was nowhere inside. When we went outside again, I found the source of the foul odor -- a sewer grate on the edge of the main path right outside the restrooms. The smell coming out of that thing is downright offensive. For a time I thought that Disney might be intentionally releasing this aweful aroma to give a sense of authenticity to the area, but now I know better. Why doesn't Disney fix this?

So far all bathrooms seemed alright to me. But in December the one that was the dirtiest was at Epcot, the American Pavillion. Kind of digusting at that time.[/QUOT

I agree. I used the same restrom in November and it was crowded and dirty.

Agreed on Morocco always seeming to need some cleaning...

My problem is most all of the Animal Kingdom restrooms and their layout. Even if they're half empty, getting in and out the door is an adventure because of the placement of the papertowels and trash...

The best bathrooms are, in MK, the one in the "tunnel" in between Frontierland and Adventureland and pretty much all AK bathrooms are cool because they're sort of themed.

I like these restrooms too. But the one thing that freaks me out about them is when Stitch starts shouting "Lilo, Liiiillloooo, are you in there? Has anyone seen Lilo?" or something along those lines.

I hear he looks for her in other bathrooms in MK, like at Cosmic Ray's, but that's the only place I've heard him. On more than one occasion. ;)

I have never heard this!! And now I want to!! What happens??:surfweb:

I agree about the bathroom near Germany as not so great :sad2:

One of the best ones is on the 2nd floor of the GF lobby near the hallway to Citrico's etc.:thumbsup2

The worst is the one near the boat that crosses to MK. Its the only one, and I think I hit them all too lol, that I remember dirty and early in the day at that.

The music and ambient sounds will be playing over the speakers as normal, and suddenly you'll hear Stitch. It sounds totally realistic, like he's actually standing outside the restroom yelling through the doorway. They started this around the time that SGE opened, and Stitch is still searching the restrooms for Lilo three years later. :)

Amoung the best is the one at GF near 1900 park faire. Almost an attraction itself, it also boasts the best Toilet paper on property!

After looking at the website, I need to check out the palace bathroom. There were bathrooms I never visited on the site. That needs to be fixed! I tend to always use the same ones, NOT anymore!

My favorite is the Beach Club lobby restrooms- not sure why but small and nice - always clean and I love that they have a basket of washclothes for you to use.

Here's a vote for the beautiful new (within a couple of years) restrooms at Pioneer Hall at FtW.

In the men's room, there is a mural of cowhands out on the prairie... each scratching fleas.

Awesome! Around the same time he took over the wake up calls, I imagine. ;) I'll have to visit some more bathrooms.....

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned one in MK--I found it in the WDW bathrooms site http://www.cassworld.ca/photosbathrooms.htm described as "Inside the Plaza Pavilion, tucked in the corner" (#32) and even though it has a cool futuristic sign on the door, "the smallest bathroom in the MK, 2 regular stalls, one handicap stall" (#34) In fact when we found it, one of the stalls was out of commission and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days!

I also used to love the ones at Beach Club, but when we were there in October, those nice washcloths were replaced with regular paper towel :sad2:

I never did post my resort bathrooms, figured I only had a few of them so it wasn't worth posting but I should post some for fun here.

Maybe when I get some time! I really liked the AKL bathrooms! ::yes::

The worst one by far was the one upstairs by the Teppenyaki resturant in Japan in Epcot. I went there just before the place was closed for the big rehab, and I remember thinking, "Boy, I hope they're going to rehab these bathrooms!" Besides being dirty, there was a line to use the restrooms because they were so small. And this was in January-I can't imagine the line in "prime season".

The worst one I recall was at Tony's. Maybe because I saw someone lose it all over the sink area (at least they wiped up after) and there was a undesireable odor...It only has a few stalls, so I had to wait in line...

Hmmm...if I tell my favorites will they get crowded? Most of the Deluxe lobbies have nice commodes...in addition to the ones already listed there is a nice one at the Poly (if you like slate) and a nice one at AKL (love the child height sink - it's at the back of the lobby, not as much the one by Boma, though that one's not bad either. The one near 1900PF is nice, but crowded. The one near the GF Cafe is nice too and much less crowded.

There is one at Disneyland that actually has a 'throne.' I've never seen it personally, but it was on a showI saw.

There a very colorful one in AK on the way to Dinoland near the character greet/across from the BBQ place.

There is a really pretty one at Bongos in DTD.

Ther is a hidden Mickey at one in MGM in the floor tile. I never found it, so I'm not sure, but I think it was at the 50's PTC.

I dislike the ones with no auto flush. Somehow I always end up at the one near Test Track in Epcot. They should add one closer to Ellen's EA, and Mission Space.

There are very pretty ones at the Portofino resort at Universal.

DH and I went to WDW right after looking at getting Corian for our kitchen, so we noticed it ALL OVER WDW. If you've never thought about it, consider how much Corian costs and how much of it is all over the WDW restrooms. They must have spent a fortune furnishing the stall walls and sink counters!

This past summer, my family and I went to the various resorts and stopped at the ESPN Zone on the Boardwalk and oh my goodness...there were televisions in the bathroom. You do your business and watch tv at the same time. My brother even asked me for my camera and took pics!
