Wow.
Last year, a friend of mine (who is now my boyfriend) raved to me over and over again about Boma, the African buffet at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. At first, I couldn't figure out why he was so keen on it...I mean, it was a buffet...and it was at Disney (we live 5 minutes from there). It didn't seem that special.
On one of our first dates, he surprised me by taking me there for dinner. The Lodge itself overwhelmed me...I had not been in it before, and it was absolutely beautiful. We checked in for dinner, they gave us a beeper (you *have* to call in reservations...but they still give you beepers, as you will generally have to wait 10-15 minutes after your reservation time), and we wandered the Lodge for a bit.
The food was OUTSTANDING. I can not describe it any better to you. The dishes were amazing, and the desserts were to die for...especially the banana bread pudding with vanillla icing. YYUUUMMM!! For the little ones, they have really good chicken strips and mac and cheese...something my boyfriend laughed about, because I was a little afraid to try all the different dishes first. Now I get almost everything
We try and make it for special occassions only...it's a little on the pricey side (about $25 a person, I think), but it's well worth it. You should check it out sometime!
