Hi all,
This will be my first attempt at a dinning review, and I am sorry to tell you I don't have any pictures. Before I continue on this review, I must give you all some background.

Last December(2010) we went to WDW with my family. Believe me when I tell that this was very similar to a National Lampoon Family Vacation. The trip began with my cousin and my uncle missing their flight to WDW because they just could understand why they would need to be at the checkin counter at the airport more than 30minutes in advance of their flight. After that trip my DH decided we would do WDW at Christmas by ourselves.

After that disaster, we decided to take a break from WDW. That lasted all of 2minutes. My husband finds out he is going to deploy this summer (2012) and says he wants to go to ESPN the weekend, so I make reservations at the Beach Club. Husband comes home and says, I am not deploying so I cancel the trip, Disney cancels ESPN the weekend.

Hubby then says: "Since we went to WDW last year with your parents, lets go this year with mine."
Me:"Do you remember last years trip, it was a disaster"
DH:"It wasn't that bad"
ME: "Alright but you get to plan it"
DH:"I will be to busy"
ME:"Fine, I will do it, but I better get a graduation present"

So me, DH, MIL, and FIL are off to WDW in Dec., but not so fast.

I found out in October that I needed to have surgery. The only time to do this was 3wks before our trip, Doc's says I'll be fine, so I have the surgery. Then 1wk before we leave, DH walks in and says:
DH: Remember how I said I wasn't deploying, well guess what I am and I'm leaving in Jan.
ME: OK.
DH: what your not going to freak out?
Me: nope, I am in pain, I'm tired, and I still have to pack

So just like that we were off to WDW. Now on to the food!

WE arrived very late on our first night. We stayed at POR for 4 nights, in one of the newly refurbished rooms. Let me tell you they were stunning. I really enjoyed this resort. We were also on the regular dinning plan.

I am going to try and tell you about everything we ate at POR in one go, I hope I don't confuse anyone.

POR Food Court:

We at breakfast here once. I got an apple danish and berry yogurt and hubby got a chocolate croissant. The in-laws weren't with us this time. They were the standard fare that you get at most places. The were yummy and hit the spot. We paid OOP for this.

Dinner: We ate dinner here twice and both times it was fantastic. The first time we both tried the make your own pasta. My husband had chicken, with marinara and spaghetti. I had chicken, with Alfredo and fresh garlic and pancetta over penne noodles. We got a small salad as a snack credit and split it between us. The pasta's came with garlic bread. This dinner was so good. The pasta was fresh and I really loved that you could add whatever you wanted and as many different items as you wanted. It was also a very large serving and could easily be split between two people.

For desert I had chocolate cake and DH had a magic cookie bar. These were very good as well. In fact the magic cookie bar became DH's favorite, most likely because I could not eat it because I am allergic to coconut.

For our second dinner, DH had the muffalta(sp) sandwich with homemade potato chips and a magic cookie bar. He said his was very good and he devoured it. Seriously it was there and then it wasn't. I think this was a conspiracy on his part so he wouldn't have to share.
I had a make your own salad. In my salad I got lettuce, chicken, Parmesan cheese, mushrooms, carrots, bacon bits, croutons, with ceasar dressing. Again this was made right in front of me. I really liked this salad. I was able to add all of my favorite items and also ask for them to go easy on the dressing. Everything tasted really fresh as well. I even took it back to my room which was a little bit away and the croutons were still crunchy so it was perfect for me.

I really enjoyed the food at POR and loved the resort its self. We didn't spend a whole lot of time here, but it was very nice.

So our first lunch at WDW was at Earl of Sandwich. I ordered the Ham and Swiss, only I subbed the Swiss for cheddar. I really enjoyed this sandwich. It was warm and juicy, but not greasy which was very nice. The DH ordered "The Italian." This was so good. It had three types of meats and mozzarella. It is then topped with Italian dressing. This was so good. WE also decided to split a bag of chips and a brownie sandwich with peanut butter. The brownie sandwich was great. The brownies were nice and chewy, and the peanut butter really cut the richness. We will certainly go back when we get to return.
