Sunday 3rd January '10 ~ High 47F ~ Cloudy with a very chilly wind
I am getting really fed up of watching the Weather Channel and hearing about 'Near Record Lows' and 'Freeze Watches'. I'm also not happy with wearing my black jeans, Converse and granny cardigan (that I only bought on Christmas Eve for those slightly chilly Orlando evenings
) ~ LOL, well at least I'd rather be cold here than back home
Anyway, enough whinging, today we caught the bus to the Magic Kingdom and arrived as it opened. We picked up fastpasses for Space Mountain (as it had problems and wasn't yet running), so we rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, then to get out of the cold wind, we went to see Mickey's PhilharMagic (it doesn't matter how many times I watch this, my eyes always fill up during the Aladdin bit)
Next we rode the Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain (which was blooming cold) followed by Pirates of the Caribbean (all the rides were walk ons this morning). When we came out of the PotC ride, the Pirate Tutorial was on, so we stopped to watch a very funny Captain Jack Sparrow entertaining the kids (and mums
)
We wandered around the shops on Main Street USA and used our Space Mountain fastpasses (which now does ride photos)
After going on the rides, we had lunch at Cosmic Rays (you've got to love their Rotisserie Chicken) and then we headed back to the Pop Century, and as Bek wanted to chat on-line with her BF, Paul & I took off to the Florida Mall. I bought Paul a few things for his upcoming birthday and he bought a camera case for his new toy
When we got back to the room, Bek had made arrangements to go to the Magic Kingdom with Kerry and Bex that evening, which worked out great as we had plans to meet up with Jules and Ian in Norway for 5.30pm for a quick drink before they went off for their usual last evening meal
Paul & I caught the bus to Epcot, and we met Jules and Ian, but it was really chilly tonight. We had a quick drink in Norway, then grabbed a wine in Italy, then went to the Rose & Crown. It was quite busy in there, but slowly as people left we managed to grab a table and 4 chairs. Goodness knows how many drinks we had in there, but Jules and Ian decided that they weren't that bothered about their ADR, so we stayed put all evening, and we were there until closing.
I think Paul & Ian had lost the plot by now
Once again we had a great time and lots of laughs and we planned our NYE trip for the following year, and before we knew it we were saying goodbye by the bus station and Jules gave me my birthday present (thanks guys
)
Once again another fab evening with friends
