The BEST Fish Extender gift ideas!!!

Hey All!!

Cruising in August, and joined my FE group! Excited for the mission, but, I can't figure out what to hand out! I want it to be good!!!



Please help!! Let me know what you gave, received, or would love to get/give.

And if you have a special place to purchase, that would be great too!!

we received a lot of compliments on the drawstring backpack that we gave out on our last cruise. We even had a few people ask us where we bought them when we were using one as they wanted one!

We had the Disney Fantasy logo and our cruise dates on them. I got them from www.Totallypromotion.com. We gave out one per stateroom, unless there were 5 or more people, then we gave them 2.

They were a good price (didn't have a big budget) and I folded, then rolled them up, tied with a ribbon and a card that said they were from us.

We used ours during the whole cruise to carry stuff to the pool, the wave phone, my nook, camera, etc.

Other gifts that we have received that we loved included things from where people live (pens or tree ornament), CDs of music, pens that had our cruise date on them (I love them and was sad when one ran out of ink!)

On our most recent cruise one of the families made everyone Disney Tie-dye t-shirts (with Mouse ears or a goofy sillouette) and the letters "Fantasy 2013". The shirts were awesome! I received many compliments from other cruisers.

This is a GREAT idea!! I was thinking of doing little bags too! How did you get the DCL logo picture?? Did you mail them to the ship ahead of time? TIA!!

I just googled the logo as an image, copied it to Word and added our cruise dates underneath in the Disney font. I uploaded it to the website where I ordered and they send you back a proof.

I did not mail them to the ship, I brought them with us on the plane. I folded them in half lengthwise, then rolled them. Tied with a ribbon so they didn't take up a lot of room and I used that bag to bring home the FE gifts that we received.

I LOVE the playing card idea as well - that is great. And someone made tie dyed t-shirts for everyone - WOW!!!

There is a fantastic facebook group for FE gifts. Lots and lots of ideas and photos posted.

The group's name is "Fish Extender Disney Cruise Line". It is a closed group so just ask to join.

There were 2 FE gifts that we particularly loved:
1 was just for my husband but it was a palm sized LED flashlight (very bright!). We use it all the time They put a little disney sticker on it, I think it's pluto? Or Mickey. Either way they put a sticker on it to make it 'Disney'.

The second was for both of us! We each got a plastic, colored water bottle (pop top). It has our names on them (or for each, blue for dh and green for me). We still use these also!

My cruise is in May and I was told to buy dollar store items. Target has great dollar items. party city, walmart etc. I'm still trying to find my group and I'm not having any luck, anyone??!!

Some cruise meet threads are not very active. This may be due to people directing others there to other sites. Or it could be that the group onboard that cruise is so new, they have no idea of how to make the cruise meet thread be an active one.

Cruise meet threads are where Fish Extender groups are set up, if someone sets one up.

It's quite likely that a cruise may not have a FE group. It's not the end of the world.

Not crafty, you say? OK. Some of our non-crafty gifts we've given or received are:
1. Small bag with travel size items: ibuprofen, band aids, stain remover wipes, etc.
2. Post cards from town of giver with a few handwritten notes: "our fav restaurant, so popular", "headquarters of ...you can see for miles", "perfect place for our family on a day hike", etc.
3. Local candy (non choc). We had some with special wrappers of that towns sports team, as an example of extra-local flair.
4. One sheet of paper with "'twas the night before Christmas" rewritten to be themed around Christmas on the Disney Dream. Yes, something like this could take time, but some people find "word smithing" easy. For an August cruise-not sure what familiar thing would apply.
5. Charm type necklace for the girls.
6. Pins (like lapel type) of the flags of the countries visited. They were smaller than Disney pins, but a great reminder of the European cruise, and all 5 countries visited. Can use on a lampshade, cut off pin part and turn into a magnet, or actually use as lapel pin.
Good luck and have fun! I enjoy running around the ship -it gets me out and about the stateroom hallways so I can enjoy all the personal decorations. Don't stress!!

Our friends showed us some of the FE gifts they have received in the past and small personalized water bottles were some of their favorites, they were very cute (and useful) but the drawstring backpacks and Christmas ornaments were adorable too!

We received a canvas tote bag with Very Merry Time cruise and logo embroidered on. It came from 2 cabins, it is very nice quality and I still use it all the time!
