I'm just winding down my trip report from our May 2010 WDW vacation: 2400 pictures! Beach Club, Universal, and Bay Lake Tower Grand Villa. I thought it was time to get committed to another project to obsess about here!

This is a pre-trip report for our December 1st through 13th trip!

There's a lot of back story here, so let's get going...
This trip all started because I agreed to go to Branson last year! :rotfl: We had a free RCI week to use thanks to adding on DVC points. My DH convinced me to use it in Branson MO. (The choices turned out to be extremely limited or we would have gone to Hawaii or something!) I can't recall the details, but part of my expert negotiating won me a WDW Christmas trip this year! Sweet!

You see, this trip was supposed to be on the cheap  since we already went to WDW in May and it didn't cost much more to upgrade our passes to APs! Also we have a timeshare week (non DVC) that we must use. We can just exchange it and use that to stay in Orlando, so how could we NOT go?! At least that's how I convinced DH last year. But then the ball started rolling...

Originally, we set the date for December 3rd through 10th and made our timeshare exchange. We got a 2 bedroom at Sheraton Vistana Resort. It looks nice enough, although we've been spoiled by staying on property with DVC now, so it will be weird to be off property. I'll let you know how it is when we get back.

When I was roughing out park day plans for this trip a couple months ago, DH came up with the crazy idea to go on a three night Disney cruise! He should know better than to suggest something like that to me, because I just picked it up and ran with it! Before long, we were booked on the Disney Wonder for Dec 2nd. December 2nd is my son's 6th birthday. It will be an awesome surprise for him--the kids won't know about it until we pull up to the cruise terminal! So then our trip changed to leaving on December 1st and staying at AKV for one night before the cruise. :yay:

And finally (I think! ;)), we extended our stay at the end because we're hoping to get tickets to a special D23 event. The Magic and Merriment event is scheduled for the day after we originally planned to leave. Last year's event sounded so cool, that it's our dream to go this year. The tickets probably won't go on sale until October and they sell out within minutes. So we'll need a lot of luck to actually get in! Regardless we booked three nights at BWV at the end of our stay. Now our original 1 week trip to WDW has turned into 12 nights just like that! Our longest trip ever!

Well, if you've managed to follow me so far, then I guess it's time to introduce you to the family...

Me (37) The OCD planner and obvious Disney fanatic. Didn't get to go to WDW as a kid. My first trip to WDW was with my DH before we were married. Such novices then! We even spent part of our honeymoon at Disneyland but didn't appreciate it the way we would now!

DH (40) My husband of 15+ years. Subscriber to all things Disney/theme park related. Stay-at-home-Dad. Enabler of my OCD planning.

Jacob (Celebrating his 6th birthday on this trip!)--This is his 5th trip to WDW and his 2nd Disney Cruise. He's also been to DL once. All of our children our seasoned travelers, since they go with me on business trips. He and his brother have been to 16 different states and a few other countries. He loves planning and doing projects for Disney trips almost as much as I do. I'm so proud! He is willing to go on almost any ride (at least once!) His favorite princess is Snow White (You should see the way he looks at her! ) He's also a Nightmare Before Christmas fan. He'll start pin collecting/trading on this trip.

Max (4)--This is his 4rd trip to WDW and 2nd Disney Cruise. He's also been to DL once. His favorite princess is Ariel. He won't even get his picture with any others. Recently he's too afraid to go on many rides.

Ella (15mos in the pic, will be 22 months at the time of this trip)--My beautiful princess--what else can I say? She's a very independent soul. She's learned a lot fast, watching her two older brothers. Watch out world! This is her 3rd trip to WDW and her 2nd Disney Cruise as well.

Oh yes, and if you're following along, please, please, write a comment! I feel so weird talking to myself!

Soon I will post our itinerary. I am a true OCD planner, so I've arranged which park we'll do which days already, and of course, I have made our ADRs!

I'm in!!

Hubby and I are leaving the kids at home and will be there Nov. 28th to Dec. 7th... Celebrating my 30th birthday on Dec. 1st!!

Can't wait to hear more!!

:scared1: I read through most of it. I love your purse! I've never owned a purse over $40, so I can appreciate what a big leap that was for you. I've been thinking about it myself, although I think I'd buy a designer everyday purse first. As much as I love Disney, I think I'd be shy to carry it around anywhere else. Maybe not. I like the new princess ones!

I totally thought I would feel weird carrying around the Dooney purse, and I love it as an everyday purse... People comment on it all the time and it holds everything... I bought a coach purse a few months ago and I love it too but it is a bit smaller so a tighter fit for all the junk I seem to gather in there...

So glad you made it over to my PTR... I am really looking forward to our trip... My birthday is Dec 1st, and we looked at doing that same cruise you are, but since we are leaving the kids home this time I just couldn't do it...

I have been reading your other trip report and I had to come over to take a look at your PTR! How exciting! Sounds like the best 12 Days of Christmas EVER... 12 Days of Disney!

That's a much better title! Maybe I'll change it! And you're supposed to be the sleep deprived one! :sad2:

We'll be there when you are! Concurrently reading -- and loving -- your TR, too.

Thank you! Do any of our plans cross? Have you been at Christmastime before? Maybe you can give me some tips! We are not so patiently waiting for CP dinner reservations. How about you?

I'll update more tomorrow, but just for the record, I changed our Teppan Edo ADR to the new Italy restaurant Via Napoli. It was very easy to do. I got a 5:45pm ADR with no problem on the website.

I expect to change a few more things as we are able to book the Candlelight Processional dinner package. Keeping my fingers crossed for Le Cellier. No problem, right? So is everyone else stalking for CP packages to become available.

I've also got agreement from DH (well, enough anyway) to start planning another trip in March 2011! We need to make good use of these AP's afterall! ;) With DVC we can book our home resorts 11 months in advance and other DVC resorts 7 months in advance. We've missed both windows! :scared: Not like me! I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow!

By the way, I've had the ticker for that vacation up a while before confirming anything with DH! I also have a ticker up for a Disneyland trip in April 2011 even though DH has definately not agreed to that one yet. I have to attend a conference 30 minutes away from there, so how can we NOT go?! Maybe that will be be my first solo trip! :rotfl:

Off -topic as far as the 12 Days of Christmas goes, but we just booked our rooms for our March trip! :woohoo: We got a Savanna view studio at Animal Kingdom Villas for the first 3 nights and a studio at Wilderness Lodge for 6 more nights. We're on the wait list for club level at AKV. I would love to try that once and this would be a great trip for it! Plus there's a special Safari you can go on if you're club level. *fingers crossed*

We thought about doing a one bedroom on the VWL part of the trip for the extra space, bigger bed, and washer/dryer in the unit, but then decided on a Studio to save points. We won't be able to use one studio for our family much longer--when Ella is 3, we'll have to get a one bedroom or bigger--this may be the last time! The nine days only uses 166 points and it's a high season. We have 400 points/year. I figure this is my argument for the DL trip in April! If we save points here, we can use them at the Grand Californian at Disneyland! We'll see!

Edit: Forget it! We called back the next day and changed to a 1 bedroom at Bay Lake Tower for the second portion of this trip.

Sorry, I abondoned this PTR for a while. Life is busy! I made a few changes since my last update--I recorded them on the itinerary on page one. We made dinner reservations for Via Napoli and we got a Le Cellier lunch as part of the Candlelight Processional Package.

I had also mentioned that I was secretly planning an April Disneyland trip since I have a business conference so close. Well, that's been eliminated for sure! Now we are expecting a new baby about two weeks later, so I won't be going to California at all.

Those are the major changes! Now that the plans are pretty solid, I have to prepare other things for the trip. I usually do matching t-shirts for us, and door magnets for the cruise ship door. I already ordered pins for Jacob and Max to trade. They will be a surprise and part of Jacob's birthday present. I'll get them out and take a picture for you all when the kids aren't around. I still have to get some lanyards for the pins. Maybe I'll get them books for the ones they want to keep too.

I was smart enough to make autograph books that would accomodate this trip too when we went to WDW in May. So the boys are set with that. I probably should make one for Ella though. She was too young last time, but I'm pretty sure, she'll want to have one this time when she sees that her brothers do.

I guess there is still a lot to do for this trip!

A couple more details for the cruise portion of this trip...
We booked two category 11 staterooms instead of one category 4 stateroom. We stayed in the Cat4 on our last cruise which was nice because it has a balcony, but it was small to accomodate all of us! Cat4 is the only room (besides suites) that can accomodate 5 people. It was tight and more expensive than 2 Cat11s. Since this is just a 3 night cruise, I'm fine with no balcony and will appreciate the sleeping accomodations better than the Cat4. I joined the fish extender group here on the DIS for our cruise. For those who aren't familiar with this. People hang fabric pockets outside their cabin doors (on the fish with the cabin number on it--hence the name) for others to distribute gifts for your cabin. Most people make really cute "fish extenders" and the gifts can range from some candy to homemade picture frames. It is fun! The kids really enjoy distributing the gifts to other cabins and especially finding new gifts in our fish extender throughout the cruise.

We booked Palo--the adults only restaurant for the last night of our cruise. This is the only time we'll put Ella in the nursery. I think she'll have a good time playing there anyway. The boys love the kid's club so I know they'll be more than happy to go there while DH and I eat dinner at Palo. The kids still talk about the kid's club and they don't even know we have a cruise coming up!

So glad to see that you're still doing this pre-trip report! I enjoyed reading your last one so much!
Hope the pregnancy is going well!
