The Beast at BOG dinner

Is the Beast there for the entire dinner time (4pm-closing)? I have a 4:05 reservation for one day and a 7:35 for another. The 4:05 works better but I want to make sure we will get to see him as it was one of the things my boys were really looking forward to.

What do you mean you don't meet him until after dinner? Is there a certain room or area you are directed to once you are finished? I thought he had a designated area you could go to for photos at anytime (ie while waiting for your meal) please explain! I have a BOG dinner next month!

You are directed to the meeting room by your server at the completion of your meal. if they let people go in anytime they wanted the line would be long and your food cold.

The Beast walks through the dining room on the way to the Library (the room with the ordering kiosks at breakfast and lunch) where he meets dinner guests after they have finished dining and are ready to leave the restaurant. There might be a line depending on how many groups are leaving at the same time as you, but generally it is not very long.

To add what the PP said, there is a big announcement and some fanfare when the Beast returns to the Library. My table happened to be right by the Library entrance. BOG was packed, but we never saw a really long line waiting to get pictures taken with the Beast. He did take breaks though. Not sure of the frequency, but usually it wasn't a very long break. One thing to note, the Beast does not do any autographs. Very difficult to do with his paws.

Our ADR last year for 4pm meant we were the only ones in line for the beast (we only have one course though). No one came after us either so we were not rushed away by thr photographer. Managed to get 4.05 for this year.
