The beach at the fort

Can someone tell me the rules for the beach. I know it's a sandy beach. Can kids play in the sand while parent relax in chairs and watch them? Can they get in the water at all not swimming just a little bit of wading? Hours there? Anything else I may need to know! Thanks all!!

Kids can play in the sand but not in the water. Don't know about the hours, but we've seen folks out there from early in the morning til after Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Children aren't supposed to be in the water, but we have seen them wading.

When our children were small, the beach was open, but the water quality got too bad and now it's off limits - just playing in the sand.
