The Battle For My Wallet V: Beyond the Number IV (Chapter Eighteen, p.75, 5/18)

Unfortunately this may be a temporary treasure. Behind Club Cool
there is an area devoted to the history of Epcot. In this area
you can see models of many of the original Epcot pavilions, a
promotion video for the opening of Epcot, and some exhibits of
pavilions past and present. It is an extremely pleasant and
nostalgic look at the beginning of Epcot and my fear is that
this treasure will not be around for long. If you are a fan of
Epcot and especially a former Epcot attraction known as
Horizons, this treasure is for you.

We saw this on our trip last weekend. It was great! Very unknown though - even some of the CM's we asked about it didn't know it existed.

I've laughed & bubbled my way through your last TR and thought I'd give this one a whirl. Loving it just as much as the last one, just the right mixture of faith, observations on life, snarcy comments and "boy humour"...keep up the good work:thumbsup2

That's funny. Because I pictured him wearing dark socks with a pair of comfy britches. AKA: '82 era running shorts. The kind with the stripes and the slits on the side. The kind that shows just a little too much thigh.
It's like you've seen my middle school yearbook.

We're not talking about potato(e) salad are we. NODANQUAYLE. Embarrassing our children. Not a job requirement but one of the perks.
Two of the funniest things I've read on here.

I've never felt like more of a Dad than I did in December, sharing with my four kids something that was so special to me and my family when I was a kid.
Well said.

You pretty well summed up what I aim for.

Is it me or is this a ridiculously long week? It's only Wednesday? Oy vey.

:moped:

I'm not verklempt. I haven't been verklempt since EPCOT. It's just this long week is giving me tsuris.

ZZUB - I've wanted to tell you for some time now how much I appreciate you sharing your family's happy-cry-inducing, achy-belly-laugh-provoking, thoroughly heartwarming stories about your sweet family's trips to visit The Mouse. (Hyphenate much?)

Call me a procrastinator. Lazy. Indolent. Idle. Slothful even.

Moving beyond my vices, in all seriousness, thank you. While many trip reports on these boards offer a daily dose of Disney to get me through to my next trip, yours offer much more than that:

They remind me to be thankful.
They take me back to my own favorite Disney memories. (Including a trip with my grandparents in '86...when I think my grandfather wore a pair of those running shorts. Red. White stripes. :faint:)
They teach me to hope for and appreciate the best and learn from the worst.

They occasionally offer me a picture of hairy legs or hidden-Mickey-having-vomit.

You've repeatedly given your wife all of the credit for the thoughtful, loving, appreciative, God and family loving little girl your ZZUBY is. And while I don't doubt that she is every bit as wonderful a woman, wife and mother you have described her to be, we all know you have as much influence on your daughter as she does. We see it in the way you write and what you share. (Except, perhaps, for the Canadian bathroom incident.)

Our memories are precious commodities. When we share them we often affect others in ways we'll never know.

So again, thanks for everything (well, except maybe the vomit) and I'm looking forward to next update.

Another Zzub chappie (NOC)

And I almost missed it!

I guess the batsignal is on the fritz.

Great read as always!

Sasquatch in Shorts! EPCOT is Truly Amazing! :rotfl:

Another Great Installment, I dont know what Ill ever do If you quit taking Disney Trips and writing about them! :thumbsup2

You know they make a balm for that.
Unfortunately, I'm not in Gilead.

I'd never call you such things. Unless you were a waitress holding up my slice of chocolate cake. Then I'd bring the fighting words. Thank you for what you wrote. I'm glad you're enjoying this trip through my wires. But you're wrong. ZZUBY may have my sense of humor and love of all things Disney and Alabama, but the best parts of her are her Mamma. Anyone who knows us would vouch for that.

I almost missed it! I guess the batsignal is on the fritz.
That's what you get for shopping at Wal*Mart. Glad you finally showed up. I was getting worried about you.

I dont know what Ill ever do If you quit taking Disney Trips
Me neither. Hopefully we'll never have to find out.

Unfortunately, I'm not in Gilead.

It's probably just as well. You never know what a balm's gonna do.

What are you doing on page 29? And why are you still passing gas in the receptionist's office and trying to blame it on her?

If they haven't bought it by now, they're not going to.

Let go of it, ZZUB. Just let it go, man.

:moped:

I'm a Treo guys to ZZubster. Unlike you, I use the Palm Software (I just assume you're using Windows). Just got the latest and greatest Palm (755P). It's an upgrade in the fact that it actually does what the 700 was supposed to do, but without freezing up every 5 minutes or so.

That's quite the story about your father. My dad and I are close, but that didn't stop him from encouraging me to join the Army to pay for college. In retrospect, it was the best thing for me.

My kids love Nemo so I guess I do. I'm with you though, pretty lame to try and "stuff" it in there. Soarin' should have a different theme than California. Maybe someday.

Actually, I'm sporting the 755p. Big fan of it. I also use the Palm platform. I'm too set in my ways to switch to anything else. As for Nemo, I love the movie, tolerate the ride. I wouldn't mind it so much if it were in another park. It seems odd to have it in EPCOT.

LaLa: I think my letting "it" go was precisely what I was talking about.

By the way, Frick wants you to clean out your PM box. Or so I'm told.

Heading to the world on Saturday:) I think I have everything I need according to the trip reports
1.) Inapproriate Footwear ... Check... Thanks Mel
2.) All secret plans secured my little "vault" ... Check.. Thanks Mean Mama
3.) Deep Appreciation for His blessings and Tonga Toast... Check.. Thanks zzub

I might do a trip report but I am quite sure it will NOT include hidden Mickey's in a protein spill or a lengthy description of my best and worst protein spill.

Too bad it is not update Monday to give me a little Disney smile before heading out... hint, hint. Maybe it will be better to have a little Zzubness to read to fix my post trip blues.

The number one thing on my list is getting Baby MikyMouse's First Hair Cut at the Barber Shop:wizard:

Later Gators! ... uh, I mean ... Later Tators!

Since we're swapping TR pics, a little something from mine for ya!

First person who annoys me with a "happy Friday" is going to have the power unleashed on them.

What happened? Did your favorite American Idol get the boot last night? I know you were up late with your 755p Tuesday and Wednesday voting for your favorite but geesh did it have to make you this grumpy? Are you suffering from Irritable Male Syndrome today?

I just wanted to throw a little Treo 755p love in here too. I lost mine last December. In Tomorrowland. On either the Astro Orbiter or Space Ranger Spin. I was sick. Checked lost and found at lunchtime. Nothing. Of course, there was this HUGE language barrier thing between the young lady at guest services and me. I speak English. Southern English, just as natural as you please. She speaks English, too. Sort of a Scandinavian variety I think. We were ALMOST but not quite, speaking the same language. Anyway, on our way out of the park that afternoon, I checked lost and found again, and this time, they had my Treo!! It truly is the Most Magical Place on Earth!!!
