The Battle for My Wallet Part II: Disneyland Boogaloo

My favorite part:

The Matterhorn is a remarkable thing to behold from up close. I was slightly nostalgic for all those times I had seen it on tv and in a few minutes I was going to be on it. Approximately thirty seconds after the ride left the station I began wondering why I had pined away for this attraction. It’s hard to describe. You know those little merry go rounds they have in front of Wal Mart? For a couple of quarters you can sit on a tiny horse and go around in a circle for about 90 seconds. This was a lot like that. Except instead of the horse it was a car which looked a lot like the old Space Mountain cars and instead of blue vested Wal Mart employees there was a red eyed abominable snowman who occasionally appeared.
Too funny!

Excellent and very funny T.R. There is no way I could sit down and tap something out like this, it would take me weeks. Vette's rules.

What an enjoyable read. Thank you for taking the time to write out your report. I also like that you kept it all in one thread.

Thank you for sharing. I had fun reading about your adventures, and I love how your love for your little girl shines through your words.

I could not have imagined enjoying a trip report more! I am an avid Disneyland fan. We go every couple of months. People I know think we are nuts, but they have no idea what it means to me! But ZZub hit it on the head! :) Even though I was baffled that you did not find any food to enjoy (I love DL food!). It really is about the special memories. :wizard:

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have a great writing style and sense of humor! I WANT PICTURES !!!!

I grew up in southern Calif. and grew up at DL. I've lived in NJ since 1978...and am a total DW FREAK. We have gone to the world twice a year for the past 10 years...and to Calif. Disney 3 times. We will go to Calif. again this year. LOVE THEM BOTH....and agree with ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING you said in describing the differences and similarities. I always tell people...if you are going to go more than once, then you have to go to both. If you are saving up for the ONE big trip to Disney...go to Florida.

Vettechick if you are listening I got caught up in your report while reading this one from one of the links and laughed and laughed! You guys are great! Will be looking for you in the world!!!!!

You mentioned about how not many people post their trip reports of DL compared to WDW. I think the reason for this is that most of the people who do DL are just day trippers, like me. As a matter of fact, the longest I've visited DL was for just 2 days. I know that if I want to go back it's fairly easy for me to do it again soon. It wasn't until I was planning a big trip to WDW that I found out about Disboards and so on. What a whole new world and basically a lifesaver. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc WDW is huge and can be overwhelming, as most of you know. DL and CA are so easy. I guess what I'm trying to say is that most Californians just don't know about this site and others like it, or they probably don't think a one day trip is worth reporting. Thanks for listening to my thoughts!! :rolleyes1
PS As much as we enjoyed WDW, we are still partial to DL. We think that it has the best of WDW stuffed into just 2 parks, minus Mickey's Philharmonic, which I do wish it had. :cool1:
PPSS I forgot to mention how much I've enjoyed your prospective on DL. It put alot of things in a new light for me also!!! :goodvibes

ZZUB,

I just spent the better part of this afternoon reading your trip report (even though it's from 04') I thoroughly enjoyed.

I agree on so many levels with you!

We live in SoCal, but honestly, our hearts are in Orlando. Every-time we take a vacation to WDW we are just stupefied by how much we love it there.

We are hoping to relocate soon (in another 2-3 months), and when I read reports like yours, makes me ever more anxious.

Yes, Cali is wonderful, but again, there is a lot to wonder about (food being a top concern!) - we just spent Fathers-Day-Weekend and were shocked at how bad the food was....We only enjoyed our meals at the Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian, and the breakfast we ate at Granville’s in the Disneyland Hotel. Otherwise, we much preferred our eating outside of the park!!!!

Best,
Brando
