The Battle For My Wallet IV: Return of the ZZUBs (Addendum, p.85; 07/12)

ZZUB, what an emotional roller coaster you are on, I will continue to keep you all in my prayers! If ou ever need anything you know your extended family is here to talk, listen, or lend a shoulder

I must say that I read your TR as though I were reading a mystery novel. I am on the edge of my seat and my heart is racing. My prayers are with you and your family and thank you for letting us all share a little of this portion of your lives with you.

Well, that is quite an accomplishment...

You've managed to pull me out of lurkdom AND made me tear up at both the beginning and the end of your latest installement!!

I didn't scroll down far enough and just sat there shaking my head. Needless to say, so glad to see that Mama and Baby Zzub are OK!

Now if I can just figure out how to edit...perhaps Suzie Helpershoes could be of service!

love reading about your trip, and family. congrats on the baby . kids are a gift , a very costly gift but the very best gift ever

Thank you so much for posting this story! I'm completely addicted to it.

I slept through a cinnamon roll served on an airplane 25 years ago and it remains one of the happiest moments in my little brother's life. He talks about it every six months or so. Still.

ZZUB - I was so enjoying your TR and then my heart just dropped when I got to Disney eve. So sorry you had such a scare, but on the plus side you had loving family with you - I'm so grateful for that!

Prayers that DW & baby are doing well!

Zzub, I love your TR. My prayers are with you and your family. Keep well and tell that precious gift to behave. Thank you for all the emotions you put into you TR. God Bless.

I was talking about my imaginary friends with my husband over dinner tonight, and Mr. Silly had the best idea.

You should name the baby "Seven" :teeth:

I was torn over who to tell first, you or Vettie. You won.

I am so glad your wife and baby were well. I know that You know that I know that you know that I know that You know that I have nothing but love for the Zzub family.

Wow Zzub...what a way to celebrate Disney Eve. I'm so sorry that your family had to go through that again, but sooooo glad that your wife and your little bundle of joy was o.k.! Your tale is awesome. I know you have just pulled in to the Lodge, but I have truly enjoyed hearing about what was up with you guys since your last TR ended. We may just be a bunch of screen names to each other at times, but when you go through hurt like that, we go through it with you. It has been great to experience your joy with you!

Rock on and I can't wait to hear how the Zzub's did Disney!

It's now the middle of the night. Here. In Can-a-da.

I'm all alone in my darkened kitchen. My family is tucked into bed.

First: I rose to my feet, applauded wildly and woo-woo-woofed!

A bunch of times.

With my clenched right fist high in the air.

That was because I am a plagerizer.

Secondly: I screamed out, "@#%$&*@@@%$!!!!! That ROCKED! MY SOCKS!"

That was because I am foul-mouthed.

Thirdly: I added, "ROLL TIDE! ZZUB!"

That was because I'm hackneyed.

And, yet, you still stink.

Cheers, Mel.

Oooo, I hate following Mel!

ZZUB! Thank God baby (boy?) Yolanda is still OK!

When you thought the baby was gone, I yelled and my computer, 'WHAT?! NOOOOOO!!!! Not again!"(did you hear me?). Obviously you've pulled me and evryone else IN and we've collectively sighed our relief.

I just wanted to also thank you for sharing your faith in the Lord with us. So many people become bitter when bad things happen to them not realizing His plan for them. You're an example of strength and I'm not sure you realize how much that can matter to someone else.

So, mushiness aside, you truly have a way with words.

Dont be a stranger too long!

Good to hear from you again, Zzub. Raising a glass to you and your family that everything is still going smoothly with the pregnancy.

Your new installment is up and I don't even have time to read it before I leave.

Would it be bad if I print it out to read during Bible study?

Yeah, I think so.

Looking forward to it this afternoon.

Have a good one, friend. :sunny:

I love nerds!!!
Great start on the report. Can't wait to read more!

Congrats on the newest little zzub. "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

Man, you sure know how to write a blockbuster! First I was in the depths of dispair over yet another gut wrenching scene, then you sent me into the highest of happiness. Congrats again, Zzub family. Stay the course. :yay:

There’s nothing but crap on tv during the day. Who knew?

This is so true!

We are expecting our third child :goodvibes in February and I find myself thinking about baby ZZUB everytime I feel the baby kick and everytime I don't feel the baby kick. That is just strange! Please know that you have prayers coming your way. At odd hours. Involving pickles and deviled eggs. We have our ultra-sound at the end of Sept and I will strangely find myself thinking of the ZZUBs.

Again.

Strange.

No sooner had I sat up then my wife poked her face through the seat in front of me, “You missed it. They just passed out hot cinnamon scones! They were soooooo good.”
:woohoo:
This is about as good as it gets for us preggos. Thanks, now I have to go downstairs to the deli and get a cinnamon bun!

ZZUB:

I know I've sad this before, but I'll say it again. You are a gifted writer. I have to second what GA said earlier. The reason so many people love to read your trip reports is because you include the details that give us perspective. We all know how badly you and your family needed this vacation to the World because you have shared the emotional roller coaster that you and your wife were on as you arrived.

Thanks for putting your heart into it.

I write these things so that one day my children can read about their trips with their parents and be reminded of some of the details they might not have remembered. I’m Dad and that’s part of my job. But this Trip Report isn’t just a chronicle of our week in Disney World. I wouldn’t even know how to write such a terse recitation of facts. The story of what happened before and what happened after our trip is as much a part of our time in Disney World as what we ate, where we stayed and what we paid. To borrow a phrase. Samuel’s life mattered even if it was cut short. This is his story, too. It’s also the story of our newest child yet to be born. And one day my son or daughter will read this and know how much her mom and dad were praying for her before she even took her first breath.

I loved that. That was touching.

Because although she’s carrying my child, she needs to be reminded frequently how foolish a decision it was to marry a nerd.

And that was just funny.

And out of the wilderness, we finally arrived at the Wilderness Lodge.

Our vacation had finally arrived.

Bring it on, ZZUB.

After 5 scary hours in the ER listening to the outrageously loud tv from the room next to ours, they finally wheeled us back for an ultrasound. By midnight, we had seen enough and heard enough to know the baby was gone. The ultrasound was only going to confirm that fact for us. I walked behind the gurney, silently pleading with God for a miracle I wasn’t entitled to receive.

Once we got into the radiology room, it took another 10 minutes before the technician got everything ready and before we saw anything.

The images we saw were overwhelming and surprising. The baby was alive!

About an hour later the ER doctor came in and told us the baby looked ok and he didn’t know what had happened. He also said if my wife was going to miscarry there was nothing he could do to prevent it at this stage of her pregnancy. He told her to go about her normal activities.

I got chills reading this... The same thing happened to us, with DS 2. Thought we had lost him, had an agonizing ambulance ride & hours spent in the ER before the ultrasound... One of the most joyful moments in my life was seeing that heartbeat! The radiologist and the ER doctor were absolutely amazed, and DH & I were slobbery, tearful messes! I was also told to go about my normal life, and that if it "happens it happens." Such a hard thing to do. After a few weeks, with a few more scares, I did end up on bed rest though.

I thank God every day for my adorable, ornery, stubborn little miracle!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Three cheers for Yolanda ZZUB, toughest baby in town!!!

Now... ON TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!

Excellent read Zzub!

You don’t realize how good Sonny’s is until you move to the northwest and don’t get to eat there anymore. And drink sweet tea.

I agree....except the sweet tea part......caramel coloured sugar water...yuk!

She advised me that they didn’t have their “storm policy” in place yet so if I wanted to change my flights, I’d have to pay the change fee.
I found a receptive and surprisingly helpful person who was able to rebook us flying out later on Wednesday and flying into Orlando rather than West Palm. No charge.

Don't you just love the consistency in airlines.....this coming from someone who worked for a airline for 18 years!!

We waited 45 minutes for our luggage and then we noticed that someone had pilfered some items out of one of my wife’s bags.

This happened to DH recently - twice! After the new you-can't-take-anything-on-the-plane rules! Buyer beware!

Glad to hear Yolanda is fine. But this name for a boy???? ;) At least you could write an update to the song "Boy named Sue" :teeth:

Looking forward to more!

Thanks!
