Hello!:wave2:

Some of you may know me from my “unfinished” PTR. :rolleyes1 I really did try hard to keep up with it, but my 1 year old really didn’t give me much of a choice. Life has been pretty hectic and planning my trip has taken up a LOT of my time. Sorry to those of you who were following along, but I promise to do better with my Trip Report. ;)

For those of you who do NOT know me here’s a link to my PTR http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2751854

So we FINALLY leave tomorrow!!! Less then 21 hours !!! :yay:

For those of you who have been reading my PTR, you know that we’re road-tripping it to California.:car:

On our last road trip to California I tried doing a live trip report along the way.((And I’d like to try it again)) I know most of you are probably NOT interested in hearing about anything that’s NOT Disney related, but I would still like to share our entire adventure with you if you don’t mind?!? With that said I hope to see you all stick around! And I hope to meet and hear froms some new DIS friends.

I can’t believe that in less then 20 hours we will be pulling out of the driveway and headed on our much needed and deserved vacation! :woohoo: Being that this trip has been postphoned twice, it almost doesn’t feel real that we’re finally leaving.

Reya still doesn’t know about the trip. As far as she knows her daddy and I are going on a short trip just the two of us to celebrate our anniversary. She thinks she and Jayden are staying home with her Aunt and Cousins while we’re away. Everyone in the family has been really great about playing along and keeping everything a secret. :worship: I can’t believe that we actually pulled it off!!!

Tomorrow morning we’ll take her to school as usual. We’ll say our good-byes and tell her we’ll see her in a couple of days. :love2: Then we’ll go home to clean, pack up the car, and do any last minute errands. Around 11:00 we’ll go back to the school to surprise her. I really don’t know what we’re going to say to her, but we’re hoping to keep each day a surprise. She won’t know about Disneyland until we actually arrive. I can’t wait to let you know how that goes. If someone can tell me how to post videos from my iphone, I’ll be happy to share?!:confused3

For those of you reading my PTR you know that I was dreading driving in any snow on our first day. And of course we’re predicted to get snow tonight and tomorrow. We’re not supposed to get a lot of snow here in the city, but we can expect up to a foot in the mountains. :scared1: I’m freaking out a bit. Driving down 7% grade hills on icy and snow packed roads is not my idea of a fun time. Wish me luck!!

Well, Reya is on her way home and I have lot of stuff to get done tonight. Keep your eyes out for updates!!!

See ya soon!!!

Looks like you should be fine if you're not leaving until later. Roads are just icy in spots now but should clear up as the sun comes out and warms the roads a little. Blue skies in Grand Junction right now.:thumbsup2 Road construction and possible lane closures near Vail though.

If you want to keep an eye on road conditions check out www.goi70.com.

Have a great trip! I really enjoy the drive, at least from where we are.

DAY ONE

We have arrived in Glenwood Springs!

:woohoo:

As I’m typing this I’m relaxing in our hotel bed in front of our fireplace and watching Glee. Kids are sound asleep in another room of our suite…. Life is GOOD right now! :cloud9:

It was a pretty successful first day! We were expected to get a ton of snow in the mountains today which was stressing me out in a big way. Luckily the Lord blessed us with a COLD, but beautiful and sunny day! Couldn’t have been happier.:cool1:

DD was taken to school at the usual time this morning, and picked up at 11:00 am. When DH brought her out of the school, I was so happy to see the BIG smile on her face and her skipping to the car. The story we told her was that we were taking her to lunch before DH and I left for our trip. During our drive to Silverthorne where we were stopping for lunch she starting crying and telling us that she was going to miss us and didn’t want us to go. Needless to say I was feeling guilty about lying to my sweet daughter.

Anyway, we arrived in Silverthorne to have lunch at Old Chicago. We shared some yummy Italian Nachos and a Pepperoni Pizza.

It was here that we told Reya that she wasn’t going back to school and that we were taking her on Vacation with us! She was super excited by this news, but strangely disappointed about going to Disney.. I almost cried by the lack of enthusiasm from her. :guilty: We have kept this a secret from her for so long and her reaction was not at all what I was expecting. It turns out she was scared that she would be forced to go onto a rollercoaster, since I told her the last time we went to Disney I was going to MAKE her ride one. STUPID ME!! But she is now extremely excited, especially to see Tinkerbell and Grandpa.

Jayden was REALLY happy though.

After lunch we hit the road again. Reya received her first gift for being a good girl and Jayden too. She received a tinkerbell comb and mirror with hair bands and Jayden received a wooden train.

It was only a 1 ½ hour drive from Silverthorne so we arrived in Glenwood Springs at 3:00pm.

Check in was smooth and we’re happy with our room. It’s a king suite with 2 separate rooms divided by a glass door. The kids are sleeping in the living room. Reya has a pull out bed and a tv, we have a Jacuzzi, and a fireplace in ours.

Anyway, right after check in we got ready to go swimming! Reyas favorite thing to do in the whole world.

The pool was amazing. Water temperature was PERFECT and we had the entire thing to ourselves the whole time. We enjoyed all the amenities and really LOVED the slide.

After swimming for a couple of hours we came back to the room. We just finished eating Subway for dinner and the kids are now fast asleep. Time to sign off and hit the hay myself! Night, Night!

Eeeeeeeeeeeee so excited you are finally on your way!! :cool1::cool1:

Looks like you had a great first day, and so happy the weather went your way.... :thumbsup2

Enjoy your trip!! :dance3:

I'm sooo bummed!!! Left my laptop charger at my hotel in Glenwood Springs! So I can't share my photos right now, or go into any details, would just take WAY too long on my iPhone. So once I get a charger I'll do some great updates. For those of you that are still following along.

I would like to add that life is GREAT right now! We were upgraded to a suite at our hotel here in Vegas. We're on the 53rd floor and have an amazing view, Plus we can see the Bellagio Fountains!! Kids and Dh are sleeping right now, so I'm just sitting here on the couch relaxing, watching tv, and eating some yummy Earl of sandwich!

Can't wait to share photos!

Just returned home a few hours ago. :sad2: As usual I’m sad to be home, but am happy that we made some wonderful Disney memories. (( On the way I made sure to stop in Glenwood Springs to pick up my computer charger so I could download my pictures asap. ))

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to do a Live Trip report like I had wanted to, but there was no way I was going to spend $90.00 on a new charger.

NOVEMBER 9th- Day TWO

Favorite memory of the Day: Getting a fabulous Room Upgade
Least Favorite memory of the Day: The cold weather and check in at Planet Hollywood

Left hotel around 7:00 AM, had breakfast in Grand Junction at Village Inn.

Drive was uneventful and Cold. We saw some beautiful Sights and ate lunch at one of our favorite places that we like to stop at whenever we travel through Utah or Wyoming. ((Wingers…. Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm))
:worship:
Arrived in Vegas around 5:30 PM.

There was only one guy in front of me when I got in line for check in, however I still had to wait 20 minutes until someone helped me. I was tired and just wanted to get up to my room.. However I was VERY pleased that they upgraded us to a 1 bedroom Suite for free. I was told that I was on a lower floor and if I wanted a room higher up I would need to pay an extra $10.00 a day. I told them no thank you and headed up to our room on the 8th floor. When we walked through the door we were VERY happy with our room, however we weren’t with the location. Our view was of the center of the parking garage. With our windows open everyone to see into our room. So I headed straight downstairs to let them know I would pay the extra 10.00 a day for a room higher up. After 45 minutes waiting in line AGAIN, we were given a room on the 53rd floor. MUCH, MUCH better!

Our room was amazing. The pictures I took don’t do it justice at all! The living room area had a large flat screen TV on the wall, comfortable pull out couch, Wet bar that had a microwave, dishwasher, sink, and Coffee maker. Once you walk into the room the floor to Ceiling Window shades open. When you leave the room you push a button and the tv and lights turn off and the shades close. You simply push a button by the door when you want your room cleaned. The bedroom had an amazingly comfy bed with the best view while laying in bed and a large flat screen TV. The bathroom had a double sink, Jacuzzi tub, and tv. It was by far one of the best rooms I’ve ever stayed in.

Once we settled in, I ran downstairs to the shopping mall in our hotel and brought up Earl of Sandwich. It was the first time I’ve eaten there and I Loved it. Lovely day for a day of driving.

Here’s some pictures of our day. Please ENJOY. :thumbsup2
