I'm hoping to see Mickey and Minnie.. when I think of disney, that's who i think of, so i've just got to see them and take a picture with them...

we will be in DTD on wednesday also, and still debating on which park for thursday.. i keep getting LOTS of advice on why/why not to go here or there, and it's overwhelming! DH has to get back to work pretty soon after the cruise, but I'll be on summer break (yyyyaaaaaayyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!) otherwise we would hit up some parks then too.. oh well, 1 is better than none (unless i can't figure out what that 1 should be!)

Our family has booked the Atlantis Beach Day Excursion.

We initally thought we would have Jon and Taylor hit the town and Mack and I would stay on the boat but we've decided to do the beach day at Atlantis. I'm sure we'll have fun!

Get a 1 day park hopper ticket, then you can go to as many parks as you want in one day. Also, when you pay to park in one lot, it gets you access to all the lots. It will be a busy day but we've done it.

This sounds like a good idea. Make your list of things you want to do (you can order maps online at waltdisneyworld.com) and use fast passes. Don't bother standing in line to meet the characters unless you KNOW they won't be on the Magic and you just HAVE to meet them.

We're doing 3 days at the parks before the ship. Day 1 is EPCOT. Day 2 is DHS and AK. Day 3 is Magic Kingdom. Even with 3 days you can't do EVERYTHING but we have our family "must do".

i've thought about park hopping.. just wondered if it was "do"able... i can just imagine once i see the castle, or woody and buzz, getting totally sidetracked from my "schedule" and not doing anything i originally planned

we were going to rent a car to drive down there, but we've decided to just drive our car instead, so now DH is thinking of taking the $ we had set aside for that, going a day earlier, and doing another day at the park.. I wish he'd quit throwing so many choices out there for me to decide!

Jon, you are doing DHS and AK in one day.. I have read/mapped/youtube'd everything in all the parks, and it seems feasible to do.. what are your must have's that yall do in those 2 parks? some of the stuff doesn't interest me at all (the trails in AK... i'll pass this time lol) and the kiddie rides, i don't even consider (i LOVE roller coasters, but once you put me on something like dumbo that just goes around and around and around, i want to puke!) although i'll admit.. i love the rides that you get on that goes up in the air, and then you drop down... but i have never been on a 13 story one.. maybe a 6 story one at the most, so the thought of tower of terror kinda scares the you know what out of me.... but i'm tempted to do it.. so if i do, and yall hear this blood curling/awkward/weird scream (regardless of which park you'll be in) know that Beth must have just rode the tower of terror

We dont meet characters much anymore, sometimes if a line is short we will, but sometimes i feel weird about it. But these are from my 2009 trip with my family and my best friend. She's the blonde and I'm the brunette. That Alice was one of the best i've ever met. She asked us if we knew we had an extra set of ears and to watch out for the queen cause she might cut off our heads.

I'm freaking out a little bit because I don't have a fish extender and I can't afford to buy one right now. Just found out my dog needs emergency surgery so that's a $300 bill I dont have. I'm making my gifts so I don't have to spend money on that, but I was going to get the actual extender off a lady on etsy and i just don't have the $30 to spend. Not sure what we are going to do, but hopefully we will figure something out! I already have gifts already made!

Prozac07 - since today is the last day to sign up will you be able to post a finalized list so we can get a final headcount?

I saw an extender made out of duct tape and cardboard on-line. It was actually quite cute.

Hang a grocery bag off the fish and tape a sign onto the bag that says poor college student FE.

ORRRRR.... get some ramen noodle cups.. attach them to a piece of poster board with a ribbon at the top so that can hang from the fish.

I can bet a lot of us survived on ramen when we were your age.

Tower of Terror is really cool. There's more to it than dropping. No spinning so you will probably like it.

Remember, this is our 14th trip to WDW, so this is *our* list.

You could see if a local Walmart/JoAnn Fabrics/other fabric store near you has any cheap fabric and get some fabric glue and go from there...

And like cruisinwithmaandpa said I saw a couple duct tape ones too! REALLY cheap but cute!

I've seen a really cute plain canvas bag that had fabric paint on it as a Fish Extender. It was ADORABLE.

I saw at least two people use a small tote bag. One was decorated and one was not. They seemed to work well enough as I saw various gifts in them (including mine).

My view is "don't worry what it looks like." Its far better than having your FE gifts place in front of the door, thus risking breakage or theft (sad to say, it does happen, even on Disney).
