The Bahamian Rum Runners! May 18, 2012 - 5 Nights on the Magic!

We have 2 cats. They are rescue cats who came to live with us a few months apart.

We have 3 cocker spaniels, all rescue, and usually there is a foster as well (we've been fostering for about 10 years). We recently lost one (he was about 18) so we adopted our current foster.

I'm a few days behind...

My favorite Disney moment was on the 2010 Transatlantic cruise. On one of the sea days Mickey was up on Deck 9 and pretty much by himself. Our then 1 year old got some good quality time in with him.

Your son seems to be quite at ease being held by a giant mouse.

I've always admired Disney character CMs for their ability to approach young children without scaring the daylights out of them. We took DD to WDW when she was a toddler and she was initially every intimidated when Pooh began to approach. He quickly backed off when he saw her reaction. DD soon got over it when she saw other children going up to him and after that no character was safe from her hugs.

I'm hoping for a moment for myself like that LOL :rotfl2:

You never know! Last year I was leaving the sail-away party and ran into Daisy Duck. She was moving with the music when she saw me, and then I started doing the same. There we were on Deck 10, just me, Daisy and her handler, all dancing to the music from below. :cool1:

Daisy gave me a hug and I could hear her laughing inside the mask. It was one of those special magical moments. :goodvibes

DW still believes I made the story up...

To answer my own question, I told DH it had to be Snow White because I'm married to a Dwarf. Not really I'm 5'10" and DH is 5'4" LOL (he's a good sport)

Question of the day 3/25:
Is there any food item you are particularly looking foward to on the cruise? For our repeat cruisers, what is a can't miss item? For our newbies, is there anything you just can't wait to try?

I'm leaving on a jetplane...back home to CT and real life :( I'm at the point where I just want to be home. I always feel like that on the last day of a vacation! See you guys tomorrow probably!

Food, not really. Drink, yes. I had some wonderful Mai-Tais on board and I'm looking forward to having a few more.

The first two afternoons I had the drink of the day but didn't like them, so would order a Mai-Tai afterward. After that I'd just get the Mai-Tai and forget the drink of the day.

Mrs Potato Head

You sound just like our DD, Taylor. Did you ALSO cry at Toy Story 3. She blubbered like a baby!

Do yourself a favor and DON'T go research why: Video tape your entry to the ship from the gangway.

Get "First Time" pins!

Yes, I cried like a big blubbering baby also! Actually, my grandma was visiting from VA when the movie came out, and the whole family knows how obsessed I am over it, so it turned out to be this big family event, mom, dad, grandma, DH, neice, nephew, everybody.. (and let me just add, grandma couldn't understand what the big deal was and she didn't want to go, but i complained enough so she went haha) well there were certain parts where i took off my 3d glasses and looked at everybody, there was not one dry eye in the whole bunch!! Even my grandma was crying!!! :lmao:

Who said I didn't? :lmao:

Actually, I said something more like "holy crap" as I jumped. :scared1:

But when he (she?) smiled with that big toothy alligator grin, I said "My, what big teeth you have." (seriously, I really did!) :rotfl2:

Haha!! That's awesome

As far as characters go..I like a lot of different characters. I love micky, and pluto and minnie (I always tell my boyfriend I have to look good when we go to disney cause mickey might ask me to marry him haha!) I also love Pegasus from Herculues and Belle is my favorite princess.

My favorite princess is also Belle! I mean Cinderella is great.. but there's just something about Belle, and her falling in love with a beast, and that yellow dress, and I still get teary eyed when I hear Beauty and the Beast come on Pandora (yes, I have a disney songs channel LOL)

I like how you think...
Question for 3/24:
What's everyone's favorite character and movie?

Woody from Toy Story with The Potato Head couple being a close 2nd :)

Question of the Day (3/25)

Which Disney character best describes you?

This is a hard one for me to be honest with who best describes me or who i wished described me!

I'm hoping to try a couple of new things on the cruise.. yall will probably laugh, but I'm pretty picky (and once you see me you won't believe it, but i really am) and so i've never had anything other than beef, chicken and pork. I'm planning/hoping to work up the nerve to try duck and lamb while on the cruise, and anything else that just sounds delicious, and of course, the famous Mickey Bar. I'm also hoping to get a piece of "real" key lime pie once we hit Key West. As far as drinks go... I've been eying some of those fruity looking drinks on the DCL Drinks page.. Konk Koolers, Pina Coladas, anything tropical/fruity/yummy will be tried! :drinking1

also, i requested to join the fb group also! great idea!! :thumbsup2

I work for the school district here in our town, and today is the last day of spring break... i'm so "ugghhhh" about it because I'm not ready to go back, but i'm also so "YAYYYY!!!!" about it because that means it just closer to vacation time!!! :woohoo: I am working on re-doing my packing list.. I think 3 pages is a bit much (they are front and back also......) i have to make checklists.. i'm a worrier/over-planner/over-thinker/etc, so probably if somebody forgets something, i'll have it! :rotfl: I finally got our FE and most of the gifts completed... so I can't wait to finish making everything after April 1st, because then, I can pack that suitcase!!

Question of the Day (3/25)

Which Disney character best describes you?

I would LOVE to say "Fish out of Water" from Chicken Little. He's just so very happy to be there, no matter WHAT happens. :goodvibes

But I think its a cross between Meg from Hercules (sarcasm) :rolleyes:and Dori from Nemo.

Konk Kooler on Castaway Cay. YUMMY fruity drinks. I sound like such a lush! But I have to admit, my work team takes bets on my bar bill from the cruise. Whoever wins gets a free drink from me when I return from vacation.

...Meg from Hercules (sarcasm)

Meg and Rapunzel are probably my two favorite Disney animated women. Both certainly know how to handle themselves and the men around them. I certainly wouldn't want to make either one of them mad!

Question of the Day (3/25)

Which Disney character best describes you?
To get a real opinion I asked DH and he said, "Grumpy? Sneezy? Stitch?" Then when I gave him stink eye he sat down and said " OK OK let me think about this."

We came up with Belle. I am definitely girly, I love to read and kind of keep to myself a lot, but I also have a lot of gumption and sass. I stand up for what I believe in and .. well.... I married my "Beast". :rotfl2:

To answer my own question, I told DH it had to be Snow White because I'm married to a Dwarf. Not really I'm 5'10" and DH is 5'4" LOL (he's a good sport)

My DH is 6'2" and I am barely and I mean barely 5'.

One particular food item - no but I am looking forward to brunch and dinner at Palo.
