The bag you take to the park..

What all do you pack in the bag you take in the parks? 288 days away..figure I ought to start thinking about these sorts of things (wink). We are going in May 2015--frozen waters that will thaw, small snacks, sun screen...what am I forgetting? We are not doing the Dining Plan and are not against trying out a few food stands/quick service to tide us over until we get back to the Fort.

I take frozen bottles of water, snacks, some wipes, ponchos cannot be excluded due to sudden rain than can pop up out of nowhere. I also take some sunscreen, extra batteries if I have my camera and a charger for phone.

1) That is pretty much our list.
2) But, we exclude cell phones, chargers and ponchos
. . . phones: I'm on vacation and phone calls are not in my plans
. . . ponchos: sudden showers and getting wet really never bothered us *
3) And, like tiggerdad, we do carry extra batteries for the camera.

* Contrary to belief, no one has dropped a house on my relatives.

From someone who is sensitive to bo smells, thank you! I can't guarantee I wouldn't huddle next to you to avoid odors around us, though!

We had extra baggies that we put our phones and cameras in on water rides then we put our entire backpack in a waterproof camping sack and it stayed very dry.

We took a few washcloths. I used them to dry off a bench, clean off a table, cool off a little, and as a puppet to entertain an irritable DS5 before Fantasmic!

We took an extra outfit for DS5.

We also had a few skinned knees and were happy to have bandaids/antibacterial ointment to save time looking for first aid. But, we were taking a bag anyhow and it didn't add too much to our relatively small load.

When we go into the parks we take:
-Frozen water bottles
-Ibuprofen or tylenol
-Phone charger
-Extra batteries for camera
-Change of socks on days we plan to go on a water ride
-Sunscreen
-Chapstick

Most of the items are pretty light weight so your back isn't killing you by the end of the day.

No bags here. We try to wear shorts with lots of pockets like cargo shorts. But there is stuff I bring with me each day - chapstick, a rain poncho (as long as it hasn't been opened or has been very carefully refolded, it fits easily in a pocket), my phone (no charger), something waterproof to put my phone in on wet rides (usually this is a waterproof pouch I wear around my neck that also holds my KTTW and maybe a little cash. I carry a water bottle - last year we got those plastic things that went around the neck of the bottle and had a clip so we could attach them to a belt loop or whatever. Next trip, we have metal Disney water bottles with neoprene covers with a strap. We'll see if we like those or have to revert to the others.

We really like to travel light in the parks and we can since our kids are older.

I would so throw in those new Ban wipes. they are awesome. they leave a powder finish not a wet one.

You can find sunscreen in stick form; that way it takes up less room in the bag and doesn't burst and coat everything inside.

I also bring flavor packets for the water, since we carry water bottles.

hand sanitizer would have been nice on our last trip.

If you have children, a small bottle of bubbles is very entertaining for the child and everybody in line. This does past the time, as some of the queues are boring.
We carry the throw-a-way ponchos, very light and cost about a buck at Academy.
The ponchos come in an assortment of colors, easier to find your group.

Forgot to add our Frog Toggs (cooling cloth). Bought them for this trip. Wow! I will always use them when visiting the south or the west!

1. Half-frozen nalgene (tip it on its side, only half full of water when it freezes, then you can drink out of it all day!)
2. poncho
3. sweater
4. protein bars, typically our breakfast on the go
5. chapstick and a sunscreen stick
6. glo sticks and bracelets for some evening fun (get em at the dollar store, kids don't know the difference)
7. camp towel/swim shammy - super absorbant even when wet, dries quickly. good for a quick dry off after splash mountain or a rain shower.
8. water-flavour squirt stuff (like Mio) because florida water has that special taste.

We split some stuff up, so this is divided between two bags.

Except people with skin allergies to the sorts of soap solutions used to make bottled bubbles. Not that entertaining for them.

And the folks with eye problems that get smacked with the bubbles carried by the breeze...or the folks whose ice cream cone or cola gets bombed with the bubbles.
