The Bacon strikes again! Bouncin' back in Sept! UPDATE: We're back! What a trip! p43

I'm home!

It was a really great trip!! But I'm very emotional this morning. I so badly didn't want to come home. I don't know why I get SO sad coming home!

I journaled a bit, more-so earlier in the trip when I had the energy, so hopefully I can get started pretty soon. It won't be today though, because I can't bring myself to write about the beginning of the trip quite yet. I don't want to make myself cry (more).

The main thing is we really did have a great time and created some wonderful memories!!!!

I'm glad you made it home safely. I'm sorry you have disney depression. I hope it passes soon

Welcome back!!

Believe me, I know that feeling and it only happens to me at Disney --it really is the Disney depression. My DH doesn't understand but has come to accept it in me. He tells me, "we'll be back again." But somehow even if my next trip is only months away...it's still leaving the fantasy world and going back to reality.

We'll be here for you anxiously waiting for tons of pics and lots of stories on what you all did!

Hey Cheri---glad for US that you are back, but we all COMPLETELY understand the Disney Depression!!! Take your time---I will be here waiting to savor every last glorious detail of your trip!!! I am glad you guys had a great time!!! I look forward to hearing ALL about it!!!! Jen

Hi Cherbear,

I am a long time lurker here. I don't post much but I had to let you know that I saw you and your husband in the bus line leaving Epcot to coronado last thursday 9/18. My wife and I and the our two kids were standing next to you and your husband in the zig zag que for the coronado resort. At the time I thought you looked familiar and your husband looked familiar also but I didn't think you were staying at coronado so I figured it wasn't you. While loading the bus I got a good look at your husband's tatoo and that is when I knew it was you. You were sitting in front of the handicap door and your husband was standing in front of you. We were several seats away from you so I couldn't introduce myself. When we exited the bus at bus stop 4 all I could do was give a nod and a smile as we were being herded off the bus. I am assuming you got off at bus stop 1 since it was the only one we had not been to yet.

Anyway.....I hope you get over the blues soon. My son really had it bad when we drove out of the resort parking lot Saturday morning. He had tears in is eyes. Its tough to see but it really lets you know how much it means to the little ones.

Have a good day,
Your Louisiana Neighbor, :thumbsup2

Cheri, ya ready to start yet?popcorn::

welll......Mike said he DOES want to go back next year (despite the fact that he said "at least 5 years" BEFORE we went on the trip.....I've turned him into a Disney nut!!! :woohoo:) I think that definitely helped with the depression!

I'll start as soon as I get my pics uploaded. :thumbsup2

Hey, that WAS us! (well you knew that already b/c of the tattoo..hehe) actually, we got off at the Blizzard Beach stop to go play mini golf at Winter Summerland. The Coronado bus is the only one that runs there at night. So we had to do a little bus hopping.

Sorry we didn't get to meet!

Aww....I'll bet that's not easy to see, but the trip must have meant SO MUCH to your son!

What part of LA do you live in?

Cheri, ya ready to start yet?popcorn::

I hope you are doing better:hug:

hehe....I know YOU are ready.

I am doing much better. thanks!

 Cheri i hope ur doing better too, we're here for you :flower3:

thanks! :goodvibes

Welcome home!!! Sorry you have the I'm not at Disney anymore blues. :sad2: I'm looking forward to hearing about your good time.

thanks! Thankfully that is going away...I still miss it though!

I've got a personal update coming next...

While we were in WDW, my Grandpa found out he has cancer. They found it in his lungs, but they believe it originated somewhere else. I haven't heard anything more about it, but when I do I'll be sure to let y'all know.
This is the grandpa that took my family to Disney all those times growing up. He was married to my late grandmother long ago.

My mom wants to go see him in Philly soon, so I might take a trip up with her. In other news, she is starting a new job next Wednesday--she'll be an aide working with 3 year olds at a pre-school. So that will play a big part in when she'll be able to go.

My dad had 2 surgeries (one very minor) this past week as well. They both went well. He had a growth cut off of his ear, and the next day he had something lasered off his kidneys and prostate. Obviously, the latter was a more extensive process. He's off work for several weeks, but he said the surgery made a big difference, and I'm SO happy to hear that! The docs biopsied everything that was cut off, and there was no cancer anywhere! :goodvibes

And last, but not least, I found out I have to go to Beaumont, TX for work next week. It's about a 4 hour drive. I leave Monday, and am expected to return home TWO Fridays from now! Ugh! :headache:
I'll be working with the storm relief team. I think I am just verifying invoices. I'll take pride in knowing that I'm helping the restoration effort in some way, even if I'm not climbing on power lines.

I'm not thrilled about being gone for 2 weeks, especially after only just returning from a week at WDW. I have to get ALL my laundry done this weekend, and pack up a bag for Beaumont. Thankfully I get to dress down (jeans) every day! :goodvibes
The hotel they are putting me in is supposedly really nice, and my meals will be expensed. So, I will try to make the best of it!
I'm bringing along some puzzles (variety/logic/sudoku), my cross-stitching(which I haven't picked up in ages), and a work lap-top. The hotel has free internet. SO, the GOOD news is I'll have lots of time to DIS!!
I'm bringing along my notes, and I'll bring along my camera & USB cord if I don't get to upload all my pics this weekend. (can't put my XD cards into the laptop)

Next weekend, rather than coming home on the weekend (assuming they don't need me to actually WORK on the weekend) I will drive 2 hours north and visit my in-laws. They said I could stay there, so it would be much better than driving 4 hours home, especially since Mike works 12 hour days on the weekend and I'd barely have 2 hours of time with him (Saturday night) since I'd have to head back before he even got home Sunday night.

That being said, I should be around quite a bit on the weekdays for the next 2 weeks in the evenings, but not much next weekend. I doubt I'll have any time to DIS during the day, so that's a bummer. But my nights will be free of all housework, and I'll be alone. So I'll DIS then.

So that's all the news I have for you now! I've got to get my oil changed in a little while (when Mike comes home from class) and hopefully we can enjoy part of our Friday off of work after that's said and done.
