I was surprised by the audience poll about Britt. They all thought she was sweet and genuine...my first thought was "obsessed". The way she started crying when she met him (and clung to him for life), it was like she had met her celebrity crush.

When he walked out during the rose ceremony, I'm pretty sure he was asking Chris Harrison, "Do I have to keep all the crazy ones for ratings?" And he did!

I think the one who lives at home and doesn't cook was the big-eyed ballerina.

Ya know, I liked that she came as herself (yeah, the shorts were a tad SHORT!, but still...) but quickly lost interest when she got drunk and started seeing pink elephants and onions.

I didn't see her much at all in the preview clips.

Does she wander around with her hands out just in case they pop out????

i figured they were the "plants" this season..when there were 30 total I figured 25 legit and 5 psychos lol....onion and cowgirl being the 2 really entertaining ones and Britt being the not so obvious one

Can I join everyone? I usually end up lurking because of when we can watch but I saw it last night! Definitely agree, it was a waste of 3 hours. I was kind of sorry to see that Michelle & Cody broke up, they seemed pretty cute together this summer.

No he was only talking about Tara and if she should stay. I think they always feed the names to them this early that is why the rose ceremony goes so long they do a few at a time.

By the previews I am guessing he sleeps with someone in that tent and the girls hear and are not impressed. Didn't take him long to make out with the one girl either.

I think so too and they did NOT take it well. I wonder about him, one of those IA ladies seemed to imply he might have a past. Maybe he's not married because he already slept with all the eligible women in his town?

Yeah, I think that's what happened to by the looks of the preview. Do they always reveal so much on the previews? After watching it I felt like I had just watched the entire season with the exception of the final rose ceremony!

Agreed! We already know who makes it farther along just by all the previews.

I'm not totally sold on Britt. She seems cute but everyone says how sweet and sincere she is. She's an actress wannabe, who knows what her motivation is at this point. I don't really see her as an IA housewife in the long term.

Last night sure dragged out though... and it was weird that they did 15 girls, then took "a few hour break" then did 15 more girls then cocktail party... did anyone else notice that the sun was up after the rose ceremony?

So that party literally lasted a llllllll night? No wonder they were acting weird! I would, too with no sleep! I'd be stumbling just like Tera from pure exhaustion.

Samantha (girl number 16, first girl out of the limo round 2) is originally from the city that I live in so that's cool!

The girl that he gave first impression to, I want to love her but something just seems different about her.

And after the final rose, the one girl that didn't get a rose came back in... did they show what came of that? I didn't see it so just making sure that they didn't show it.

Well, I haven't watched all of it yet. But I was impressed with how Nikki handled herself. It seemed she was determined not to bad mouth Juan Pablo, and Chris kept digging. She was surprisingly more classy than I gave her credit for.

I haven't seen the entire show...I was hoping that Chris would be a class act, but sleeping with someone already-Please. These limo entrances are getting way too dramatic and phony. What's wrong with getting out, shaking his hand, and telling him your name?

Maybe this season really doesn't have that much drama, so they're trying to hype it? At least with all previews we don't get a good look at any of the women, and we don't really know any of them yet, so the previews aren't really spoilers. Well, except for the girl with the short dark hair who said she was willing to give Chris another chance. And with all the editing, is she giving him another chance after the tent thing, or does it have to do with something else?

And they really didn't need that whole first hour of red carpet stuff. Did anyone REALLY think Nikki and Juan Pablo were going to last? Who cares if Sean and Catherine are ready to start a family? I saw Courtney there; thank goodness they didn't talk to her.

But did you notice - Andi and Josh have matching eyebrows!

Thanks for the recap! When it was announced that the first limo was an hour away, meaning the second hour of the show, I jumped over to The Celebrity Apprentice. I figured there would just be stupid filler the first hour.


On to the show: I feel like I've seen that girl with the short dark hair before. The one who ended up on the floor getting oxygen. I thought they were going to say she was a contestant before.

And Onion Girl, as soon as she got out of the car, I said to myself, "I've met her and she's a plant!" She's from Brooklyn, so maybe I have, because I also knew she'd be a little weird. She had a different look in her eyes & expression from the moment she got out of the car, like she was there for WORK. She wasn't focused on Chris in the same way all the other girls were, with excitement and wonder in their eyes at seeing their potential husband. It was more of a, "Now, what am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to act? Oh, yes, there is the Bachelor guy I'm supposed to talk to and be interested in."

Yes, I liked Brit. It looks like, so far, he has the most chemistry with him. Although, I think a lot of that is her infatuation with the image that she made up inside her head about him. It's not based on any reality yet. And after Chris pulled a "Ben" and slept with the girl in the tent, it didn't look like she made it to the "overnite dates." She might have finally realized he's not, in reality, the man of her dreams and decided to go home.

I found it interesting that they included Bo (the Plus Size Model) but then never showed her on screen. Was it to be more PC/diverse or something?? If so, it was a fail. They never showed her completely the entire episode (just her face and shoulders usually) and they never even showed her saying goodbye to him when she didn't get a rose.

I agree about the previews. I wish they would leave a little bit for us to discover but maybe they knew the first episode was kind of a dud and they needed to hook us some other way

Yep - that part was very sad. That happened to a friend of mine (her husband collapsed and died during a softball game), leaving her with three little ones all under 5.

But what I thought was kind of strange was that she said it happened 1 year and 4 months before she stepped out of the limo looking for a new partner. That means she was already applying to look for a new partner in about a year. To me, that seems a little soon. Also, Mackenzie is about 10 years younger than him, that's a pretty big age difference. I wonder if the age difference will be a factor. Maybe not-my ex-husband went on to marry someone 16 years younger. He was 36, her almost 20.

Oh-and near the beginning I thought Chris mentioned a girl who had an X-rated past. Does anyone know who that is?

They didn't show a lot of the women after they didn't get roses. I thought he only eliminated four women and it turned out to be eight! Thanks to Amy for posting the EW recap . Did you notice it was DAYLIGHT when they were doing their exit interviews?


I am glad that he gave Tara a second chance. You would think that the contestants would know better than to get stinking drunk. I didn't see her much in the previews so I assume that she'll be gone soon. I was shocked that he kept MacKenzie who is only 21 and named her son Kale. Who in their right mind names their kid KALE? I find Whitney's (the fertility nurse) voice grating.

There's a playboy "model" amongst the contestants. Jade is her name. When she "modeled" for playboy she went by "Jade Elizabeth".
