Has anyone used “ The Attic” function room on the top Jellyrolls? I would like more details if anyone knows anything about this. If it can be rented and the approximate cost. etc.

Thanks

when DVC first mention the attic room it was surpose to be for DVC members - then WDW decided it they could rent they could make a profit - so they started to rent it.

the prices were pretty high - I think you can rent it through MS or it may have been directly with BWV. - call ms and see what they say.

thanks, I'll do that and post any info I get. Sorry I'm at work so it will have to wait till later.

The attic is being turned into a casino so that BWV will more closely resemble Atlantic City. The casino will also enhance the loud, noisy, crowded, etc atmosphere of BWV. The Attic casino will be open to only BWV guests staying in the GVs, this is to justify the ridiculously high pts needed for the crammed and awkward GV and will also afford these guests the opportunity to recoup some of their money spent on the ridiculously high BWV dues. There are also further plans to enhance the BWV atmosphere to even more reflect the loud, noisey atmosphere of Atlantic City, but Disney can not figure out how to get sand under the boardwalk-- for those guests who wish to escape those crowded and crammed rooms and want to get a little nooky "under the boardwalk", or for the poor souls that just need a place to sleep off those mega mile walks through the hallways, but alas, the darn water needed for the those Friendship boats, which take foreverrrrrr to get anywhere and have a zillion stops, keeps washing the sand away!!!! There has been talk of extending the boardwalk to the front of the resort and then putting sand under that boardwalk but those miles and miles of walkways that seperate guests from their cars keeps getting in the way!!!!!!
BTW, the casino in the Attic at BWV will be completed the same time as the race track is built at SSR, 'cause after all those poor guests will also need a place to escape those crammed and awkward rooms and the loud and noisy environment from DTD and also the race track will provide a perfect spot for the guests to get in shape to handle the mega mile walks to their villas. BWV, BCV and VWL guests will also be permitted use of the race track so that they can also get in shape for their room marathons.
The horses for the race track will be housed at OKW, since this resort is so large and spacious, it can easily supply more than enough room and the 1 br villas, being such huge accomendations are surely big enough to house 2-4 horses and the GV is spacious enough for 10-12! Also animals are very much revered by Disney so no place but the only true DVC resort would be a fitting residence for the horses.

DeeP - ROFLOL! :teeth:

Too bad it's buried in a thread where few will find it! Might have to try to do something about that! :teeth: :teeth: teeth:

Will we get a 'discounted' point chart at OKW if we are willing to take care of the horses? Feeding, exercising, cleaning out stalls?
As for 'under the boardwalk' I thought that was Coney Island not Atlantic City so the casino is out and sleazy rides are in! Besides there has to be some 'under the boardwalk' aka summer doowhop music piped in there as well!

Nancy DVC - having grown up at the Jersey shore, I can assure you that "under the boardwalk" applies to Atlantic City (and Ocean City, and probably anywhere else with a boardwalk over the beach!);)
DeeP - Please no, no more casinos !!!:smooth:

It's really sad that some people have nothing better to do with their time then post information they know to be incorrect, thinking that it's funny. I don't see the humor in it, and would politely request that it not happen again.

Was the Attic originally intended for DVC members to watch Illuminations from? I vaguely remember in the mid-90's, some mention of a place being built on the top of Boardwalk to view Illuminations from? Or is my memory rusty?

I think most of us understood that DeeP's post was "tongue-in-cheek" .

I don't ever recall The Attic being set aside for IllumiNations viewing, but I have been a member since 1997, so maybe it was before that???

I think it has always been meant ot be a private party room.

When BWV was first opened this was indeed the intention for the Attic, unfortunately this never came to be.
IMHO, the casino is a much better idea and fits in so much better with the BWV's noisy and crowded atmopshere.

Speaking of illuminations viewing, there seems to be an area on the top of BCV that has a railing around it. I wondered if it was a possibility for illuminations viewing or the railing area was just for decoration. Seems that one could have quite the reception in that area if it was really put together with that possibility in mind. I certainly don't know this to be possible, but have always wondered about the railed off area since seeing the initial pictures.

Whew DeeP....for a minute there I thought another poster had gotten your password or something....:smooth:

wow, that was very interesting reading. As someone who frequents the Community board, I may have to re-think where I hang out.

Thanks for the "info". And a good story.

DeeP,

Thanks for the laugh, but the real funny thing is that looking at your countdown timer your next two stays are at the BCV and BWV.

I can't say for certain, but I have been warned by many cast members that the attic is where the clowns retire for the night.

You would be well advised to stay far, far away from the attic after nightfall...

I have actually been inside the attic. After we became DVC members, my husband and I were wandering around and saw a small sign that said The Attic with an arrow. We decided, we should look into it and followed the hall all the way to the end to a door that had no window, just a plain door.

We opened it and went inside. It was one of those beautiful rooms decorated with old quilts, comfy furniture and all the windows overlooking the boardwalk. A CM was there setting up and getting ready for a private party. He welcomed us to look around and of course we did. We thanked him for his time and left. Ever since then, we’ve wanted to be invited to a party there. So now, with all the family coming down in December, it would be nice to plan a bit of something for that time. Depends on availability and of course the cost.

They sure do hang out in the attic at night, so for the casino they have been recruited to be roulette dealers. Disney wanted them to be blackjack dealers but the darn clowns could not count to 21! I guess it is a result of them being forced to stay in those crammed and awkward rooms all these years, they have had to shrink their bodies to fit in these awfully small rooms, and when the body shrunk so did the brain!!

no by the time I got home last night, it was rather late and tonight might not be much better. I’ll try tho. At least with CRO it would be a start and I could be pointed in the right direction.
