Anyone ever eat at the Artist Palette? Wondering what the food is like. From a background perpective, we are actually looking for a DVC resort that has a counter service restaurant. I think this is the only one???

We don't mind the food court thing and with a 1 year old it is just easier.

We are OKW DVC'ers but I love to hop the boat over and eat at Artisit Pallatte....it is NEVER crowded and I LOVE the art glass lamps. They have an excellent variety I think for counter service....my favorites are the homemade soups and the flatbreads...they have a hot entree everyday....kind of a "meat and 3" type thing, a full grill for burgers and sandwiches, an excellent selection of desserts and pastries and some nice pre packaged wraps, salads, etc. Oh and they have a pasta dish every day....other stuff too, but I kind of forget what at the moment. A little pricey perhaps, but it is such a quiet and peaceful dining spot away from all the hustle and bustle of the parks.....I will be sorry when the resort grows to the point that it is always busy and noisy like the other CS places.

FYI, the BCV also now have the market with similar offerings, but not nearly as much variety and the VWL have Roaring Forks (or whatever that place is called)....again, not as much variety. OKW has Goods to Go which is basically burgers and fries with no indoor seating.

Thanks for the great information SB in KY. I was not sure what resort to stay in for our first trip home but this is what we need. We have used AKL and POP food courts in the past and they have been great...if you are not looking for a sit down dining experience.

I would say Artists Pallatte is roughly equivalent offerings wise to Mara's at AKL....nicer atmosphere though!! Not as expansive as the food courts at Pop and All Stars...but then not as noisy and crowded either!!
