have any of you ever been there? if so what is your favorite pice of artwork. i have never been there but my favorite painting in the world is a saturday afternoon of the island of la grande jate (sp?) i was just wondering who has been there.

I have been there a number of times. My office is about a 5 block walk from there. You and I have the same favorite painting! My favorite exhibit is the Thorne Rooms--a room full of tiny rooms!

There is a wonderful collection of Impressionist paintings--some say the best outside of the Louvre.

i really want to go there for my birthday. i am trying to talk my om into it. we will see.i love all the shopping too!!! i hear they are having a george seurat special there for a while. im excited!!

Love the art institute. Haven't been for awhile. Funny how when you live a city with certain museums and monuments you just kind of forget about 'em?
If you love La Grande Jatte, right now they are having a ticketed exhibit called Seurat and the Making of LGJ. Runs through Sept. 19

Been there several times. I also like that Seurat painting. I also enjoy the El Greco paintings.

I too love "Saturday afternoon", but what I really like is looking at all the armour. Is it still in that one long room? I have not been there in over 4 years.
