The Anxious Anticipation Thread

OK, I'm going out on a limb here. It seems like a lot of us are waiting to find out the answers to stuff...like having tests run, taking a test and waiting to find out if you passed, interviewing for a job, wondering what happened with something...and it's so hard to keep up with everyone's stories.

Some people just have one little thing they're anxious about and want to share what it is and wait with others to find the answer...and it doesn't necessarily need a whole thread. I'm feeling that way right now, so I'll share...but I don't want to take up a whole thread on my own.

So go ahead and share what you're waiting to find out, and we'll keep vigil together!

I'll start: Hubby interviewed for a job with Southwest Airlines, and we'll find out if he gets a job somewhere around the 10th or the 19th. I'm trying to act like it's not a big deal, and I know in the great scheme of life that it's not...but that's where our hearts are, and it's what he wants...so I'm anxious about it.

I'm waiting for Bank of America to develop some brain cells. We have had money tied up with them for nearly 4 years that they either don't know how to, can not or will not release.

With the help of the State Banking commission things are looking better than they have in a long time. Our next "Promise" of them releasing the money could come within the hour. I'm NOT holding my breath. At lease I know it's not just us they're jerking around. See my signature!

I'm waiting for a quote/bid from the guy who might build the addition on our house. He's had the plans since 9/30/05 and told the architect he'd get a price to her "by then end of next week." Well, it's Thursday, which I consider nearly "the end of next week." DH and I have made our price predictions: he says $144K, I say $190K. Need to know who's right b/c we really can't afford my guess.

ALSO...I'm waiting to find out if DSis will be called back for a 2nd interview on a job she really wants. 20 people applied, 7 got first interviews, and 3 will get 2nd interviews. Prayers and pixie dust for her, please.

BTW, Rafiki, are we supposed to report-in when the wait is over?

I recently found out I am pregnant and am anxiously awaiting my 1st prenatal appointment in 3 weeks. I lost a baby last year and it was not discovered until that first appointment when they could not find a heartbeat. So now my excitement is very much tempered by worry that the same thing may happen again. I don't feel like I will truly be able to rejoice in this pregnancy until I pass the point where I lost the baby last time and am able to see that heartbeat. The waiting is driving me insane!

We are waiting for our refi to go through. The appraisal came in this morning and it was better than we could have hoped for!
So its in underwriting right now, they anticipate being able to fund within 2 weeks so Im waiting for that to happen. That will make us totally debt free as far as credit cards and medical bills go and save us A LOT per month.

Thanks for help with that R3, Im not sure we would have pursued without your encouragement

Binny, I feel pretty good about your refi--because I worked in the business. If the refi isn't going to work, you usually know it within the first day or two. It's just a matter of waiting...and waiting!

I'll be thinking about the rest of you....waiting is horrible!

Waiting to show the house tomorrow. I wish this thing would sell but I live in hell, literelly no one wants to move here so why should they invest in a 200,000 dollar home?

NO! The bank is blaming this on the IRS. The IRS is saying they did everything that Bank of America asked them to do. And the days go on and on and on.

Don't worry, if someday this finally gets fixed, I'll scream so loud you'll be able to hear it no matter where you are.

I know that wait and agony all too well. Everything will be fine.


I am waiting for my mom's test results. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last week and had her lumpectomy (and some lymph nodes removed) today. We won't have the results for about 7 days. It's going to be a very long week.

I'm also waiting to find an apartment. I hate waiting. I have no patience.

I'm supposed to get results from my doctor about the CAT scan I had yesterday. Trying to think positive but I'm kind of expecting bad news.

Update: The builder's "ballpark quick quote" came in this morning. $210K. I really liked his reputation and references. But I guess he's kind of a Cadillac builder around here.

We'll shop it around and try to get a better deal. {{sigh}} I think DH is more upset than he expected to be. Almost all the new space was gonna be his home office.

Still no word on DSis's job situation.

Update: got the phone call from my doctor, I do have an ovarian cyst, but it is most likely (98%) not malignant. Have an appt. now with a specialist next week to determine what's next.

I'm starting my first cycle of IVF. So far, all of my blood is normal. I have to have a test next week that doesn't sound too pleasant. DH needs some blood done. Then, we have to wait for the almighty insurance company to give a pre-approval. Considering I can't get a straight answer out of them for something as simple as a co-payment, I think it could be next year before they give the pre-approval.
