It was special pick-up by Tim, Disney Cast member, at 9:00. We decided to try AK this morning and, once again, not too many people. From the sounds of other reports, we were at the right places at the right time to avoid long lines.

The first stop was the Lion King Show. Fabulous as always and we all sounded great as elephants!! The show was not crowded, as there were many seats available in all sections.

From the show, DH and I want to see animals, so we headed off to Harambe safari. What can I say, no line. DH fast passed this, and by the time he met up with me in line, we were at the turnstile to section off for a ride.

There were so many animals out, and as our fast pass time was to be about the time we would finish, it was fun to scope out the animals, without the stress of clicking the camera too much. I guess the high light of the ride was the lions and cheetahs. The cheetahs were barely noticable in the tree line, but definately two of them!!!

As predicted, our fast pass time was right when we got off, so on we went again!!! Love those fast passes. This time, the elephants were parading by the water hole. Holey moley was that neat.

Having only done the safari in 98, we decided to go on the train to the Rafiki conservation center. The train ride was so so, interesting to see the safari from the other side. Oh, and we did see a quick glimpse of the baby elephant in her cage with its mom.

The conservation is a neat place, and definately a stop when we bring our 2 DD with us next time. While there Stanley and Rafiki made guest appearances and, the kid that I am, posed with both of them for a picture. Then I had this great idea to have Stanely autograph some books they were selling outside. I can hardly wait to give my nephew his book with a Stanley doll and towel!!!

We did a quick walk through of the petting area, only to see a hungry goat come up behind a woman and steal her map that was protruding from her back pocket. :p Apparently this goat has a fetish for things sticking out of back pockets, credit cards have been stolen. You have been warned!!!

After the conservation planet, we decided to head back to the hotel, as we had early dinner ressies at Shula's. It was to be a treat for DH from his girls.

Shula's was dark and very cold. I did not bring a sweater with me on this trip and was very tempted to run to the gift shop for a sweatshirt. (It was also cold in AKL, but I just kept ordering Castle beers and that warmed me up :p ) We enjoyed our meal, but, I would say it was not the best dinner I have had. I would give it a B. Yes, the servings were huge, so getting fed was not the issue. I guess I have been spoiled and had better steak at my Dad's.

After dinner, we quickly changed out of our finery and headed to MGM to catch the Fantasmic show. If you have read my earlier post, you will know that we loved R&R coaster, so we stood in line for a quick trip to the concert!!! It was only a 30 minute wait, by the way. Not bad for 7:00, I didn't think.

As I had been told to be at least an hour before the show, we headed to the seating for Fantasmic. I have never seen this show, but heard it was as the name implies: Fantastic. I would have to echo those sentiments. We got fabulous seats: three rows up from the water, front and center. Not too many people there yet, and it was lightly raining.

We enjoyed watching the vendors sell their outrageously over-priced items, especially the drinks with the lighted ice cubes. And with the announcer occasionally coming on with the threat of delay or cancellation, the show finally did begin.

Oh my, the lights, water, story line was fabulous. I could go on and on and rave about this show. We were going to go back, but just never made it. GO, GO, GO to this show, if you have the chance.

Rode the friendship boat home, again not too many people in line and we were home in the 20 minutes it took us to walk out from the show to the boat landing.

Definately a great father's day for DH, and me as well.

Love Fantasmic - it is great isn't it - thanks for posting!

three times ....all different locations so we could bring the whole family back with us and know which areas were the best seats.....even the back door fantasmic pkg seats were great......you just can't go wrong.....we loved it.......thanks so much for your great report
