The Andrews Do Disney - 8/23-8/30 - Day 5

I know that laundry does not sound very glamorous on vacation, but it was actually quite peaceful & I didn't have as much to do when I got home. Also, the more dressy stuff needed washing for tonight's Feast. So the kids swam & the DH went & got danish & breakfast stuff & we ate around the pool while the laundry was drying.
Around 1:00, we left for the MK because we were determined to get a professional picture taken on Main Street BEFORE we got all sweaty & crabby (lol). So we did have the picture taken & were quite happy with it. They had our princess hold her hand out & then in the picture, Tinkerbell was sitting in her hand. It was very cool. We planned on doing a couple of rides we had missed, but it was extremely hot that day. We stayed for the parade & melted. Then on to the Grand Floridian & Cinderella's Gala Feast! We took the monorail & got to sit up front with the driver! Co-pilot cards were given out & we had a blast! We got to the resort quite early & looked around a bit. The GF is lovely, but not for us. We were still hooked on the Poly. DH checked in with the restaurant & we could be seated early. Our 5:00 PS's were a great idea. It was the first seating. We actually had the characters all to ourselves for atleast 15 minutes. Cinderella, Prince Charming, the mice, & Fairy Godmother were there & Goofy was in the lobby. Dinner was delicious. The prime rib melted in your mouth. I especially loved the shrimp alfredo with penne pasta. I tried that strawberry soup, but was not impressed. There was so much to eat & not enough room in our tummies! It was a wonderful character meal & we would recommend it.
It was such a beautiful evening, we decided to head over to Epcot & take in some of the countries & watch Illuminations. My little princess started out at the kidcot station in Mexico. We bought her a passporter & she was really into that whole thing. We went on the boat ride there & decided next time we would like to eat at the restaurant overlooking that ride. Soon it was time for Illuminations. One thing I have to say is we really miss Tapestry of Dreams/Nations. That was our favorite "parade". After Illuminations, we went out on the boardwalk & let the kids play in the arcade at ESPN. Then we caught a cab instead of fighting the crowds at the bus. It was under $10 with the fare & tip. We packed alot into this day, but it was so much fun. Tomorrow Epcot, ESPN Club, & Fantasmic.

It sounds like you are having a great time. We saw the Tapestry of Dreams/Nations when we went to WDW in 2000, and it really had an affect on me. We are going back in December of this year, and I really sad that it is no longer a part of WDW. The Cinderella's Gala Feast sounds wonderful. We might have to give that one a try.
