THE AMAZING RACE 15, Season Starts 09/27/09

I just found out that ABC actually owns the rights to TAR and sells the show to CBS. If this is true or not, I don't know.

I also found out why they go to India every year-it is the favorite place that Phil Keoghan, the host, likes to go to!

Well that I did not know!

VERY interesting! At least if it were on ABC, we wouldn't get stuck with delays due to 60 minutes beng shown in its entirety when games run over.

My menu for tonight ...

* Snerf - Dutch pea soup "It is a thick stew of green split peas, different cuts of pork, celeriac or stalk celery, onions, leeks, carrots, and often potato." We left out the pork.

* Stamppot - "(eng. "mash pot") is a traditional Dutch dish made from a combination of potatoes mashed with one or several other vegetables, sometimes also with bacon. These vegetable pairings traditionally include sauerkraut, endive, kale, or carrot and onion (the latter combination is known as hutspot)." I skipped the sauerkraut.

All the veggies used were from my weekly organic CSA box, including the celariac, leeks, kale and endive!

* Smoked turkey sausage,

* roasted pumpkin and sweet potatoes.

That last challenge was harder than it looked is you had no upper body strength.

Can I just say that Tiffany has got to be one of the sweetest nicest people ever. She's so postive and really I am sorry she had to leave(her partner not so much but I'm hoping she just got really bad editting)

Another read the clue carefully :headache:

I was okay with either of the last 2 going home ;)

Okay, is it just me, or did Cheyne(sp?) and whatsherface not cheat on the bells task when he helped her ??? And did TAR just not pick up on it or what? Waiting to see what happens next week, but still confused..

At first I didn't like the poker players and thought they were dishonest but they turned me around since the first weeks. I was sorry to see them go.

Maria obviously wasn't paying attention when they talked about how a lever works in physics. You can't hold the hammer that close to the top and expect to get any leverage even if you are a bodybuilder. I think they stayed way too long at the bell and had they not expended all their energy there I think they would have been able to do the golf challenge eventually.

Ericka is starting to get on my nerves. First she takes forever to count. Ok, it might have been a harder challenge than it looked, but the way she acted while walking in the wooden shoes was just cringe inducing. Her husband was also in pain but she just yelled at him the whole time about how he can't possibly understand how much her feet hurt. Please. I just don't like winers.

Meghan and Cheyne are becoming my favorites. When she was frustrated at the golf thing she sucked it up, stayed calm, and finished. A much better approach than Ericka's. Of course the preview for next week doesn't look good for them but we'll see if it is as bad as the preview looked.

I am hoping that Brian and Ericka go home next because I am tired of her complaining. Other than them I still like all the other teams.

No where does it say you can't team up and work a task together. If anyone cheated it was whichever brother just told the poker player the answer without working with them, but I still think that is allowed. If you want to take away your own advantage by helping someone else so be it.

I don't think they were cheating. Your partner can't help you but I think I remember other times when teams have worked together on roadblocks.

But he did help her..so I don't get why they didn't have to go back and do it over :confused3

I don't get it either..they couldn't have really made them repeat it though, the answer would stay the same...maybe it gets resolved next week? Will be curious to see. On the roadblocks I really thought that per the rules, only one person on the team can do the task...:confused3

When do you mean? At the bell tower Meghan teamed up with one of the brothers so no, her team mate didn't help her. At the golf obstacle each team had to hit one ball on alternative turns so they didn't help each other, they alternated turns.

Was there another incident I forgot?

This is what i saw too. No cheating from where i sat:confused3

Okay, I thought it was Cheyne who was helping Meagan count the bells, so my bad..although I guess I wasn't the only one puzzled! They need to get some fat ugly guys on there so we can tell them apart...lolol.

Ditto!! :confused3

Maria has to be the most helpless person ever. I think she let Tiffany do every single task, plus her effort on the bell-ringing task was absolutely pathetic.

I'm glad they went home- they just really didn't even seem to try on the golf thing.

Dh and I cannot stand her. Last week some ppl in the thread thought she might have been affected by the heat. Nope, nadda, she's just a whiner and a nagging wife. We just wanna throw something at her, and her crying and whining during the pitstop cements that feeling. I honestly wonder just how she got to be Miss America or whatever Miss she won.

I'll have to go back and watch it. I thought both partners Meghan and Cheyne) went up and were both counting and shouting their answers to each other. I thought he even said, I might as well go up with you.

So, all of the partners stayed below?Cheyne never went up the stairs?

I wonder how long the penalty would have been if the girls would have just skipped the hammer part of the task and did the rest. Or would that have been automatic elimination?
