THE AMAZING RACE 15, Season Starts 09/27/09

I guess I am a geography geek but S & D and M & C did not even know where Monaco was or how to pronouce it.

The overall lack of geography knowledge is pathetic. Dan thought Prague was a country, not a city and I seem to remember they trouble in Dubai as well.

When they kept flipping between M&C and S&D in the cabs, then M&C at the wrong gates, DH reached over and took the remote away from me just as they showed Phil and the rest of them waiting for the winner.

If S&D had been first, he was a changing the channel. And Wayne Newton shouldn't have told them who he was. He just should have said I'm Mr Las Vegas and the finish line is at my house. Let them figure out who he was and where he lived.

If Erica would have kept a cool head, she and Brian could have looked over and seen how M&C were doing the bungee and they just might have done better at it.

I also wish Wayne Newton wouldn't have told them his name. That should have been part of that challenge just as finding the name of the casino in Monaco was Monte Carlo was part of the task. (Were these contestants all too young to remember or know of Grace Kelly?:confused3)

My DH said he sure wished the Globetrotters had been there for the Cirque de Soleil challenge. With their height, arm reach and jumping skills, watching them do that challenge would have been great - we think they would have nailed that!

I'm just glad the M&C won. I couldn't stand the tinkerbell brothers. Its too bad they didn't get knocked out at the license plates. I really wanted the globetrotters but for everything they gained in athletic abilty the lost in mental challenges.

I was happ with the winners. I think they really worked well together as a team and it showed last night when they were in 3rd place and came back strong on the poker clip counting.

It seems to me that most of the other races had a road block where they had to put the pit-stops or challenges in order. That always seemed to be a difficult task.

This race didn't seem to be a tough!

Had the poker chicks still been in it, they shouldn't have had any problem with counting the chips! :lmao:

I totally agree with this, to me it just came down to who had the better cab driver???:confused3

Poor Brian he deserves the Million just for putting up with him indeed. I cannot belived that her family could accept him.

I watched their interview this morning on CBS This Morning.

They were asked about Erika's family and she said mom has come around and he said that for the first time ever at Thanksgiving dinner, she referred to him as her son in law. I am not sure the exact phrase he said--but whatever it was, it was evidence to them that her mom finally accepted him into the family.

I bet she did! After seeing her DD's true colors she needs to be kissing that man's foot, I doubt that there is anyone else who would be able to tolerate that woman!

Well good, because he is a great guy, after watching many couples on the amazing race and how frustrated they get, some of them even nasty to their wives/girlfriends, Brian was always nice to her, he is a nice person that just happens to be white.

It really does baffle me that parents would have issues with the race of their child's spouse. I know that all my mom wants for me is to be happy, respected and loved.

My cousin once dated a black man, but I think the problems my family saw were 1) he was 15 years older than her and 2) he had children that he didn't support. I'm sure those would have been red flags no matter what his race. She didn't let her 80+ year old grandfather know about him though.

As a mother/grandmother who has bi-racial grandchildren (native american and asian) that is exactly what I told my children....I just want them to be happy, respected and loved.

BUT, neither of them are with the father/mother of their children anymore. It is very difficult to meld two cultures, plus you do have to deal with prejudices from society. You have to be a very strong couple.

My DH's cousin is engaged to a black man. We have been thrilled for her since we heard that she was in love.

However, her brothers don't speak to her anymore. She actually had to have PFAs put out against them.

The family is finally coming around as she's been allowed to bring him to the past two family events.

I think he's a wonderful man. He's got kids that he does support and he is starting his own business. He treats her very well.

The rest of our white family just sees him as a black man. Enough said. You understand that they're prejudiced without me going into their (inane) reasons.

How sad that your love ones cannot see beyond the race, the color of your skin. I had told my children that it doesn't matter the color, the race, as long as they are good people we would never care if they date someone African/American,Asian,etc.
I'm Hispanic, and my husband is Caucasian and we're so blessed that our families aren't like that.

BTW! Where can I see the interviews of the teams? I missed the early show. Thanks

I thought it was interesting that is was Ericka's mom that had the issue with race. Usually they make a big deal about it when the white person does not like a person of another race. I think most old school white families and black families have a lot of the same beliefs. They don't neccesarily dislike the person of the other color but would rather have their sons and daughters marry people of their own race.
