Has anybody watched The Great American Road Trip this summer (Monday nights on NBC...) kinda reminds us of TAR Family

I also watched the 1st episode, but I think they changed nights and I watch the Bachelorette on Mon and I also forgot to record it. I liked it!

I've wanted to watch this as well but missed the first 2 episodes (Bachelorette was on). Looking at the commercials it reminds me of Amazing Race. I want to watch it!

They aired the first GART again last Sunday night. Maybe they will do the same this week.

We enjoyed the first episode of GART, but not so much the second one. Since they announced that no one would be eliminated that second episode there was absolutely no reason whatsoever to care about the challenge they did (I can't even remember what the blasted challenge was). With no elimiination, etc., it is simply a video of several families on vacation.

After Kristine posted about GART...I knew I had set it on my tivo. I went to check on it this week as it never recorded...I still have it set BUT nothing has recorded since the CT family went home. I bet it would be a bore if there was a challenge with no consequences.



Anyway, THANKS TAR DISer's, for posting on this TAR thread...so many posters ALREADY for September!!! Thanks again to Kristine for the reminder!!!

Its already won six emmys for Outstanding Reality-competition Program award, and it remains the only show to win the award since the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences first created the category in 2002!

And it certainly deserves it! I remember when it won the first Emmy. Phil had been interviewed on some show (can't remember what...could have been Regis and Kelly) and said that they had just filmed season 4, which could likely be there last season due to low ratings. When TAR was announced as the Emmy winner, I jumped out of my chair and cheered! I knew then that CBS wouldn't be crazy enough to cancel an Emmy winner! So, that said, it seems that every time it wins means another season for TAR!

I would love to be a contestant on The Amazing Race, but I was just looking at the application. You have to be available all of November and all of December for taping. I don't think my school would be willing to let me out for two months. I wish they taped one in the summer.

I hope I have CBS by then. Since we went digital we have ONE (FOX) channel. Been thinking about getting a dish (cable is not available where we are) will have to make a decision soon about what dish to buy.
