THE AMAZING RACE 15, ~Season Premier~ 09/27/09 pg 64!

:scratchin Hmm.. it might be time for another All-Star TAR. I have to agree, that was one of my favorite seasons!

That was a good season! But I have to admit, the best part of that season was when they did NOT come in first in the finale. :lmao:

RichNKatHolly - you weren't alone - there was a whole lot of celebrating on the DIS AR thread when Uchenna & Joyce won.

Yeah. I hope they will all loosen up soon and just have fun. Have you watched any of Phil's diary videos? They are pretty funny. I especially liked the "Boots of Russia". And the last episode where they are running up and down the stairs of the hotel. Phil almost did a header into the stair. It was pretty funny.

So I caught up on Phil's diaries last night. The Boots of Russia had us all laughing so hard!! Ru-ru-ru-russian boots!

I really liked Uchenna and Joyce. Anyone know what's up with them? Weren't they going to use the money for fertility treatments?

Those two hippie guys were my favorites. They were funny.

Sorry Mel and Mike left, but as others pointed out they should have realized something was up when ever team went the opposite direction. And then they ignored the guy who told them where the statue was.....those mistakes cost them the game.

I was sorry to see them go as well. I was amazed that they thought all of the other racers were going in the wrong direction, when you are the only one going one way and all the others are headed in the opposite direction it is time to recheck your own plan.

I was pretty peeved with the little guys when they put all of the pumps in the box. I did not see that as a great way to win a race, it was pretty lousy IMO, and I was glad they did not win the leg. I think that there is a difference with "playing the game" and cheating and I thought that was cheating. I would love to have been a fly on the wall when the other racers who pulled the rickshaws found out why they were pulling so hard ;). Margie in particular

I really want to see the redheads go next. Gosh that loud mouthed one is so nasty! I wonder if the cashier in the medicine shop dogged it purposefully when she was so fresh?

ETA: I am still shaking my head that the redheads are so peeved that the people who they meet in a foreign country do not speak English. They are totally inconvenienced that these folks speak the language of their nation and not of the US. No wonder there are some ugly opinions of Americans if these wome represent even a fraction of visitors to foreign nations.

This reminded me of something. Why did Margie pull the rickshaw? I know that she was frustrated at Luke not being able to hear her directions, but couldn't he have turned around to get directions? Didn't SHE need to turn to him to get directions from him? It just didn't make any sense to me.

Originally Luke was pulling but she couldn't get his attention with his back to her. She said it was frustrating so she wanted to pull. She said it was easier for him to get her attention with her back to him but not vice versa. I remember while watching thinking she was right about that.

She also mentioned feeling like she was going to fall out because he was carrying it so high in the front that it tilted.

I think her intent may have been to show him how to hold it so that the person in the back didn't eat pavement.

True, she would have to turn around for a conversation, but Luke can get Margie's attention. He is verbal, just hard to understand and Margie can hear him, but Luke couldn't hear Margie even if she was screaming.

But he wasn't holding it too high, she seemed too scared to sit back. She was having a hard time getting his attention though.

Hmmm, I thought what a devious trick they played on the other teams. It's not as if they hid the pumps, just laid them in the box, sort of hiding in plain sight. The other teams should have paid more attention to the wheels on their rickshaws. Granted, the pumps might, and I say might, have caught their attention laying there on the ground, but then again they might not. Remember the feeding/watering the camels? The feed baskets were right there beside the hay and not one team picked up on them immediately. They all carried at least one water bucket full of hay before they said "duh!" this is what the baskets are for.

I read an interview on realitytvworld with Mel and Mike and they said that a bunch of people at the airport told them the gorilla was at the beach which is also where the taxi driver said. They passed the other players but they all looked chaotic and they had no reason to doubt that the gorilla was at the beach when that was what so many people had told them.

I thought the same thing but then I thought if producers didn't deal with this type of behavior someone eventually might get hurt so I think that is why there was a penalty. Mike and Mark were made examples so any thoughts of tricking or deceiving other teams would discontinue and teams would have to rely on their own physical ability, intelligence and of course LUCK.

I see in next weeks previews Mike and Mark have words with each other. This is the time in the race when people get cranky from lack of sleep, probably not eating right and the bowels backing up or letting loose!

Wasn't there a penalty in a past race for the same sort of infraction?

I don't recall one but my memory isn't as good as it once was and add a couple of cold tablets (Nyquil) this week and I am in a complete fog.

Was Amazing Race on this past Sunday? I was not home to watch but I am not seeing it on the CBS Web site. :confused3
