THE AMAZING RACE 15, ~Season Premier~ 09/27/09 pg 64!

Define "spoiler".

A spoiler is info that one gets off the spoiler sites, like who is in the top three, correct? I mean, if we see the show Sunday night, we can discuss what happens at 11PM, right?

I have been a part of some TV threads, and the spoilers caused some major friction. (Some people felt we should not talk about who got eliminated because some people hadn't seen the show yet, ect.)
::yes:: IMO, a spoiler is something that hasn't aired yet. If it's aired in your time zone it's OK to talk about it. Those of us in the west (or who have recorded it to watch later) should realize that those in the east have seen the show before us and we should know not to look at the thread if we don't want to see what happens.

That said, last season, a lot of people would post things like "I can't believe who was eliminated", and "I didn't see that coming", without actually naming names for those first couple hours after the show first aired, and I must say, I really appreciated that, since I didn't really to know what happened, but still couldn't resist looking at the thread before the show aired in my time zone! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My only beef with spoilers is when someone posts a huge, major spoiler with no warning. Even if it's in spoiler font, expecting to see next week's elimination, then seeing the names of the final three in the second week of the season is kind of a bummer. If someone is going to post big, major spoilers, please label them that way, OK? :flower3:

I agree ::yes::

I read on CBS.com that they showed a preview for TAR 14 during the AFC championship game last night.
We were watching the game (GO STEELERS!) can't believe we missed it! :sad2:
Did anyone see it?!?!? :happytv:
If anyone finds it online, please post a link! Thanks! :hyper:

This is why I've always preferred separate spoiler threads. I don't mean discussing it after it's aired in EST, CST, but actually posting results before the show has even aired. Someone will not read the thread and will post it outright, or in the spoiler font and someone else will quote it.

I had TAR spoiled once and it was the worst season ever to watch. I was so disappointed.

I would personally prefer NO SPOILERS myself. Not even in "spoiler text" because they inevitably get quoted and they are not hidden anymore. I really don't want to know who wins in advance or even who is in the final 3 or 4 until it happens. Knowing that *does* spoil the game/show for me.

We love Amazing Race. :cool1: And I have to admit that we like spoilers too. :thumbsup2

I agree completely.

Yup, the quoting thing is an issue. I'm fine with a separate spoiler thread, too. Looks like most prefer it that way?

Woo hoo- I was just thinking I couldn't wait till it came back on.

I'm totally OK with a separate spoiler thread. I would just want one thread with no spoilers too. Maybe this thread will be the spoiler thread and I can start a non-spoiler thread when the show gets closer.

I'm so happy they are doing another season so soon and so so happy that football will be over.

Now, I like my football but it just messes up the whole night when it goes over.

I can tell that I'm not going to like Jennifer and Preston (the orange team) right out of the box. I hate when the woman rides piggy-backs on the man. It's so juvenile!

I see that Christie and Jodi (light blue Flight Attendants) are doing the same thing! *blech*
