Spider-Man will always get my vote!! Is was state of the art when it came out and will always be a sentimental favorite.

It's a family tradition that we head straight to Spider-Man when we arrive at UO.

This is a tough choice. I love the theme, atmosphere, and thrill of Tower of Terror. But, I love the Spider-Man ride all around. Was so different when it first came out and still one of the best dark rides around. great mix of 3-D screens, sets, and practical effects. The motion of the vehicles allow a thrill factor, and has the simulated rise and fall within it even if you don't go up and down.
MY vote will go Spider-Man, but it is a close decision.

OP as you picked two diametrically different sort of attractions, it’s obviously throwing people off here.

Are you taking a pool inquiring as to which is one’s personal/sentimental favorite of the two?

If so…aside from them each being ground-breaking in their own right when introduced, and still very solid attractions, my vote would depend on whatever park I’m in at the time.

If not…Despite Homer’s above enthusiasm, unless somebody wants to set up a venn diagram, it’s a stretch to compare them without bias

both among my favs. They have their own specific merits and, arguably, are among the best in their respective parks and in the theme park universe

that said, solely because ToT produces a slightly different experience each ride and it’s more of a communal experience, would have to give it a slight nod.

I have a strong sentimental attachment to SpiderMan. It was the Universal ride that just blew me away the first time I rode it. Thought it was so innovative and cool. and it still is. Disney had nothing like that then. We still very much enjoy SpiderMan. Hope they'll keep it around, and update it.
But ToT's theming and ride is way beyond that. It holds a special place in our hearts too. It was THE first ride we rode on our first trip as a new family in 2000. I'd done all this research in Fodor/Frommer/Unofficial guides books, and all said do ToT, and do it early. We got to MGM (as it was known then, ) over an hour before opening, the parking attendants weren't even out collecting money yet. We were first at the turnstiles, and hurried down to ToT.....rode it, and traumatized my 9 year old son for the rest of the trip. He was completely terrified. Any dark ride we got on, he'd ask if it was going to drop. (even Small world,ha) We had no idea what the ride would be like or how intense it was going to be, haha. we all still talk about that and laugh.
Now, ToT is one of my younger son's and husband's all time favorite rides, they LOVE it. I appreciate it, but do not ride it anymore, haven't since the early 2000s, I just can't stand the drop in the dark.
