Happy Mother's Day WFD Ladies!!!!!!!!!

Going to my Mom's at some point today to visit. I invited her to my house for dinner but one of my SIL's beat me to it. Not sure what is for dinner yet, I have to defrost something.

This day looks like it will suit my mood nicely. It is dark and rainy.

We will be cooking inside today Roast Chicken, potatoes, brocolli and an herb beer bread. I think I'll make something chocolate for dessert.

Since we've been eating out since Thursday, I'm cooking today, nothing time consuming though. Spaghetti & Meatsauce, Roasted Broccoli and Garlic Bread.

Lurker here! Hi. Hersey! Anyway, Rogue, is that OG recipe the Zuppa Toscana? If so, would you mind posting it? BigMerle, I love Cosi! The s'mores thing is good, especially if you get the Oreo one (giant Oreo cookies instead of graham crackers).
Are any of you bakers? I posted on the cake thread, but did not get any replies. I need a recipe for a frosting that dries kind of stiff. I need to make 150 cookie pops for my impending wedding and need to sandwich two cookies to a stick. Thanks!

Funny you should say Caili looks like a doll. More than one skater at her ice rink has commented on how the new American Girl figure skating doll looks like Caili.

Personally, I think Caili is cuter.

My mom told me my brother was cooking today, but when I asked him about it, he was . He grilled the steaks, and I made pommes frites (totally not in keeping with my dad's diet, but neither was the fried chicken yesterday, and my mom made that!), roasted asparagus and salad. It was good.

Happy Mother's Day to all the MOMS!

We had a big lunch at a mexican restaurant with DH's family - very tasty but I was so hungry by the time we sat down that I ate my weight in chips and salsa. Brought almost all of it home for DH to have for dinner.

I've fallen so far OFF the diet this weekend that I decided it's Special K for me tonight.

Thanks, Kathy! Caili is not into the American Girl dolls at all, but all the little girls who are and who know Caili all think "Mia" looks a lot like Caili. Maybe it is just the figure skating thing.

I talked to Beck today. I miss her! She and John are home late Tuesday night. She is upset that they are going to miss Idol. I am sure she will have some great pictures to share with us.

Morning Y'all,

A belated Happy Mother's Day to All!!

We had a really nice day! The rest. was a surprise to my Mom & I. One of the Brennan family rest's, Ralph's on the Park. It was beautiful, wonderful & delicious!
I was enjoying myself so much, I forgot to take even one pic! I could have provided some lovely food porn pics too. And some really cute Alexis pics too. She was all decked out, matching sun-dress, bracelet, hat, purse, shoes, even sunglasses. She was quite happy to show it off too. It was funny, we were waiting in the bar area for everyone to arrive, when she saw her Nanny (my DD) coming, she rushed to back on her glasses & hat, so her Nanny could see how pretty she was. What a ham!

My DD gave me such a wonderful gift! My own recipe book! It's a traditional wire bound book, but it has my recipes & pics in it! I can online & add more too! I also think I can share it online. It was a really good day!

Laura, Caili does look like the doll, with her big eyes & freckles. But she is just soo much prettier! You must really miss Becky! I know we all do, can't wait to see some beautiful pics of St John & her food!

Nancy, Funny you should ask how I'm feeling. I'm only awake now because my neck was hurting. The dr. found bone spurs pinching the spinal column in several spots in my neck. He gave me a cortisone type injection on Thurs, hoping we could control the pain with that. But the injection hurt & my neck still does too. That was the rheumatologist, he said surgery may or may not be neccesary. I think I'm going to go ahead & schedule an appt. with one of the better neuro's in the city & see what they have to say.

Here's some food porn for y'all from Saturday evening's dinner. The pics not great because it was getting dark.

I had some super fresh and expensive halibut, so we decided to make it a special evening.

The halibut was marinated with lemon & dill. I grilled it & the garlic bread. ( I'm trying Laura! I used an extra grill pan to keep it from sticking to the grates.)

The salad was really good too! Arugula with tomato, vidalia onion, fresh mozzarella, basil dressed with olive oil. The champagne was extra yummy!

How do y'all like my table lighting? I ordered some ceramic wicks to turn wine bottles into oil lamps. That's a cointreau bottle!

I hate Monday's! Ron has to work two double shifts in a row today and tomorrow. So I will be doing some needed cleaning and then we are going to see my neice play softball. Dinner will be a quick bite with my parents after the game.

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. We saw my Mom on Friday so yesterday was just me, Tom and Andrew. The only thing I wanted to do was go to the gun range. We have taken up target shooting and I absolutely love it!

We ate out on Sat so I just wanted to make quick dinner so we have tortellini, meatballs, roasted peppers, mozzarella, olives and bread. Yummy. I cooked them harrassed Tom to do the dishes. Why do I have to ask and even beg my husband to do certain things...its easier sometimes to do it yourself.

Kat, I love that pic!!! Is that going in your signature? Hint!

Sheryl, Dinner looks good!!! Sorry you are not feeling 100%.

We are having meatloaf this evening along with mashed taters and peas and corn.
