Lindsay - I don't recognize that name.

Welp, I decided to redecorate my house. DH was thrilled. =) When we bought the house 2.5 years ago, we painted, bought furniture and art, decorated, and then didn't touch it again.

I post on the Nest (newlywed site) and my rooms just don't look as pulled together and polished as I want, esp compared to some other homes posted on there. They're blah. So, I posted pics of my room and asked people to tell me what THEY would do - I got GREAT ideas! One poster even took my kitchen, photoshopped stuff in, and posted it for me. I shot it to DH who loved it, of course, so I didn't get any argument from him after that =)

I left this morning at 945 and shopped until 4pm. I'm still on the hunt for several items but I bought boatloads of cool things and can't wait to work on the house.

DH is out of town so it's just me tonight. I can't decide whether or not to cook - if I don't, my veggies may go bad. The recipe is a lemony tuna pasta.

Yeah, I think I'll cook just for myself. I'm staying in tonight, working on the house and watching MY movies and shows.

I went looking for cooking shows on our PBS channels this morning and instead ended up mesmerized by the reality show "Carrier" . I sat & watched a 2 hr show this morning. I have to admit I am totally clueless about life in military families!

I was flipping thru the channels last night and came across "Carrier," too. I couldn't stop watching it either. Finally after midnight I had to get to bed but I really wanted to see more.

Kyle pitched an awesome game. The coach pulled him out in the last inning and he got a standing ovation, I think that was done on purpose. I was one proud Mama. Thanks for all the good thoughts from all my buddies!

Hey friends,

I thought I better check in as I have been MIA for a couple of days......I am very behind on everyone and tried to flip back, and catch up but I think I will have to start fresh in the morning!!
I have spent the past few days trying to clear stuff up at school so I can take some time off when my dad comes (which is rather hard as it is the last month of school) then this week we had an unexpected child abuse case come up which rips me and everyone involved up inside.
I have also been very involved in the organization of the foods for our dear friend Becky's celebration of life service. We are expecting between 100-300 people. Kris has talked often with her husband David and he is doing pretty good. We are so proud of him.

What I managed to catch was that:
Greg is heading back tomorrow, so I send a HUGE thank you to him, and to you Laura and the kids for the sacrifice that all of you make for our country. I pray for his safe return home again.

Kat we chatted PM but I have to say on here CONGRATS to that amazing boy of yours and his team!!

Nancy Kady is doing amazing, I am so proud!! Give her a big hug from me!

I love all the neighborhood drinking comments...there are a few of us in the neighborhood known for wandering around with drink in hand in the summer evenings...I loved it at my brothers, as everyone in his community zipped around on golf carts drinking, and to get to and from the club house...I think that is one of the selling factors on us looking into moving there,

OH crap...I know I remembered more when I started typing but that was 2 drinks ago as well.....oops.....Oh Lindsay nope I know no glen on here either actually I don't think I know anyone named glen....wait I think there was a glen that went to school with me but that doesn't really do much for ya now does it......totally rambling I know....that is what happens when I find the unopened bottle of Xrated in the bar fridge, when I was just going for a simple glass of white...............oh well after this past week TGIF!!

Hmmm, I don't think I've been there before. Senior year we skipped the limo and splurged on dinner...we ate at Tony Angelo's Oh it was so good....does anyone(my new orleans ladies) know if he re-opened?


Tonight WFD was Blueberry pancakes. My kids couldn't get enough!

Oh and I have the pictures of the last cake I did too!

Ok so here is the minnie mouse cake I did for my cousin's 6th birthday party.
I had to use the "Animal Crackers" pan

And I carved and iced it to look like this

I almost died when one of the 12' rounds cracked!

But everything turned out great and here is the final cake

The top tier was Strawberry cake with vanilla and chocolate(minnie's ears) buttercream, just for the birthday girl. The bottom tier was a 12' two-layer almond cake(wedding cake) with seedless/organic strawberry filling, and white chocolate buttercream.

Tom is going on a man date today and A is at his dads. Yeah me! I think I'll jump on the treadmill, maybe watch a girlie movie or go shopping, go to A's game this evening and have some Chinese food.

I thought it was just me!!!!! I didn't watch last nights show but when we go to Disney, Tom and Andrew get sick of me saying that is where I lived when I did the CP, that is where I worked, that is where blah, blah, blah...and I also start getting teary eyed...

Its just such a magical and happy place that I guess we get overwhelmed with joy, right?

Lauren I think that's why we all have become such great friends we have similar likes and dislikes. Try a sampling of different Brats some from the butcher and different ones from the grocery stores they all have very differnet tastes. I bet they will find one they like. I found that with hotdog and baloney the ones from the butcher are sooo good, maybe cause there is no fillers

Janice, Tom is such a PITA with certain foods...I am going to try different ones like you said. I need to find a good butcher around here...I don't really think there are too many. Maybe Wegmans will have good ones but that store is 20 min from here.

Just put them out don't tell them what it is. I found that little secret when I was married. John would only eat name brand cereal until one day I bought generic and put in the old box he never knew. That's our little secret.
