The All-New What's For Dinner Thread!!(recipe index in OP)

Even though I am not scheduled to get it until next week I am checking every day. :rotfl:

I'm checking too. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will be in my account this week

Change of plans mushrooms and pieorgi's tonight. I needed a quick dinner since Mr A decided to help spend my rebate. His glasses broke today.

Sounds like yesterday wasn't a good cooking or what ever else day for the WFD crew. I doubled checked today burner is on and the correct one. All is good.

Gretchen--Figure out how to post pics..(then you can explain it to me too) I for one am dying to see this sweet little one's candy coated picture.....Just want to let you know that I am so happy to hear that she got her ball!!! I had told Ross all about it, and he felt so bad, when I let him know that she has it, he said "finally, poor little thing I am so glad she is able to bounce again!!"

He is such a thoughtful and compassionate young man! I'm sure you are really proud. You certainly have reason to be.

Even though I am not scheduled to get it until next week I am checking every day. :rotfl:

I know the feeling. We are thinking of a new mattress with ours. Then maybe we wouldn't sink to the middle.

Gretchen, add me to the list. I would love to see Hailey enjoying bouncing and enjoying some milk duds! ;)

I am sitting here enjoying some "Pure" chardonnay. It is really good. :) Tom is painting and I needed a drink. I am totally overwhelmed with what we have going on here. I cannot wait until this is done. We had another spat last night. I HATE remodeling!

I am going to open another bottle. Then dinner and then I can drool over Simon and Gordon!

I am going to try and figure it out this weekend. I promise. But tonight would not be a good picture night. She was so upset over losing that tooth and the feeling in her mouth, she was really off tonight. Fussy and nothing would settle or content her.

I'm sorry about the remodel stress. We're only redoing the roof now and we have already had some doozies (mostly over the condition the workers were leaving our yard - Mountain Dew bottles, Skoal cans, not to mention the roofing nails and old shingles). I resorted to a horrible tactic, nagging daily until he had them come and clean it up. I should be ashamed, but I hated having that garbage in our front yard. Talk about Whiskey Tango!

Don't you love Gordon?

It's not official as Kyle has not signed anything but it looks like Kyle's and our dream may be coming true. We have a local Junior College, Delgado, that has an excellent baseball program and it's just across the river(maybe a 20 minute drive). Kyle has always dreamed of being able to play here in NOLA. The Delgado baseball coach approached Johnny at the Shaw play-off game today and said he wants to meet with us as soon as our playoff season is over, he REALLY wants Kyle for his program and is ready to talk $$$ and make an offer but he doesn't want this to be a distraction while we're still playing for state championship. Needless to say we are ecstatic and he'll be staying home, ya know Mama likes that.:goodvibes

YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for Kyle (and you).  That is wonderful news!!! Go Kyle. Go Kyle. Go Kyle. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Isn't that always the way. I think the kids can smell any extra money in the account and take the opportunity to break something/lose something/announce an expensive upcoming field trip that they have to go on or they will be a social outcast, etc. Hope there's some left for you.

Aimee, believe it or not I like the sticky chicken but my husband didn't care for it. The kids were split too. I'm definitely keeping it in the recipe file. Maybe for dinner one night when he makes me mad. Isn't that what you taught us Nancy? :rolleyes1

BTW Nancy, did you fix your darling husband any "naked meat" tonight? Or a sandwich for being so supportive?

Thanks Lauren & Wendie.....

Way cool! :thumbsup2

Well it seems that everything I hear says something differant about when we will get it. So here's hoping we have it soon. :woohoo:

I know the feeling. We are thinking of a new mattress with ours. Then maybe we wouldn't sink to the middle.

My mattress I paid for after I was in a car accident. I was going out to lunch with a coworker, she was driving, and someone hit us at a light. It crunched up her trunk lid but we were fine. I got a call a few days later offering me $800.

Kat----I AM SO FLIPPIN' EXCITED FOR ALL OF YOU!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay: :cool1: :cool1: and one of these too..
Ross is going to do the whole knee down arm pump thing he does when I tell him in the morning!!! I read your post twice as the first time I had tear of happiness getting in the way...(I am a bundle of emotions right now) I am so happy that your baby will be close by!!
Please give Kyle a great big hug from all of us...we are just so darn proud of him!!!
This is just perfect as I could use some happy news!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Gretchen--Poor thing what a rollercoaster of emotions for her these past few days....I think she needs a sucker, or a popsicle or BOTH!!! I think tomorrow is Happy Hailey Holiday!!

Thanks for the comments on Ross...he is a sweet kindhearted boy.

Lauren--Take a deep breath my friend, and a good chug off the bottle, :) I wish we were close by, Kris would love to jump in and lend a hand. For friends he works for booze and food....the only rule is he doesn't get the booze until the work is done, ;)

Nancy--I had to chuckle as I was thinking if you made Buddy his "naked" meat and took a photo it would really fit into the term "food porn".........I am sorry I am in a rare mood tonight...my neighbor came over a bit ago for a nightcap after she got home from work...(she is a nurse in the ER and it was a rough night for her so she popped in for a minute)

We had Ross last P/T conf. for elementary school tonight...we sat with his g/t teacher (he has had her for 3 yrs) for 2 hrs.
Ross had straight A's and we were told some unreal things about our child. (all good)

Ross got dropped off at home after Karate and called me to let me know he was home and then he asked ( I swear he is a 70 year old man trapped in a childs body at times) if he could watch wheel of fortune and jeopardy while he waited for us. His teacher just chuckled at this.

I am going to watch my DVR'D Idol now as we ended up watching reruns of AFV while eating pizza and talking about Ross report card.

Sheryl -- That steak looked great. I loved the bird picture too. I saw a rabbit in my neighbor's yard for the first time this spring this morning. Last year, we had baby bunnies born in our front yard. Caili was so excited, so I am hoping they come back this year. I am sure Caili will be leaving carrots for them as enticement. :)

Greg and Liam are watching the first Harry Potter movie while Caili and I are gone. Liam is really into the series now. He started reading the first book when vacation began last week, and he is already more than halfway through the third book. He has been reading rather than playing his Nintendo DS. :yay:
Between your bunnies ans Sheryl's birds Kady would lose her mind! She is an "animal sparer" but it is a secret :ssst:

AAAHH, I just typed up a whole recipe and then my post got lost in computer world--lets try again

Chicken in a Fresh Tomato and Eggplant Sauce with Spaghetti

I have s few eggplant in the fridge so this is looking like a plan to me :thumbsup2 Thanks!

I am sitting here enjoying some "Pure" chardonnay. It is really good. :) Tom is painting and I needed a drink. I am totally overwhelmed with what we have going on here. I cannot wait until this is done. We had another spat last night. I HATE remodeling!

Lauren, it's not fun now but it is like childbirth.......after it is through your memory gets selective ;). Hang in there, it is going to be worth it soon!

Laura, Baby bunnies must be a heck of a lot cuter than those birds! Alexis would lose her mind over bunnies in the yard. We went to the local garden center today & she was sticking her hand in the bunny cage.

We don't have bunnies either. Kady must get her animal fix on squirrels. Them we have!

Change of plans mushrooms and pieorgi's tonight. I needed a quick dinner since Mr A decided to help spend my rebate. His glasses broke today.

 I agree that kids must have a sixth sense when additional money comes into the house.

I am going to try and figure it out this weekend. I promise. But tonight would not be a good picture night. She was so upset over losing that tooth and the feeling in her mouth, she was really off tonight. Fussy and nothing would settle or content her.

Oh that poor little girl is having a rough week, isn't she? First her ball, then her tooth. I hope there are some treats in store for her.

Now as to Kenny and his sticky chicken, file that baby for when he needs it most....... :rolleyes1You'll thank me :rolleyes1

Buddy did not get his naked meat, even though he was supportive. I made a garlic pan chicken, pureed the garlic, added summer squash, zucchini, julienned carrots and some bruschetta for a sauce and served it over whole wheat spaghetti. That with a salad. When there was no garlic bread he figured out he is in this with the rest of us :lmao:. He is a little nervous because of the last time I decided to keep him healthy :rotfl:, but that little mistake could happen to the best of us :p

You should be so proud! Between his compassionate nature and his school ethic he is one good kid!

I'll keep you in mind when Buddy gets his naked meat. He is really nervous about what I say here and I live to make him squirm :dance3: so when he gets chicken with nothin on it I'm going to tell him that all of you are waiting for his reaction :lmao:. He still cannot believe we giggle over his tuna sandwich fetish

You have got to be dancing on air! Well we all have been praying for some pretty sad outcomes here lately. It's good that we all have one awesome young man to ask a little favor for. I don't think your talented son needs too much Divine intervention but a little pixiedust: cannot hurt.
Now I am not going to wish his playoff season away but I cannot wait to hear that he is close to home with a good scholarship to boot! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

My Pooh Bear is home!!!! He got in around 7 last night. I was soooooooooo glad to see him!

Tonight I am making Rachael Ray's Chinese spaghetti and meatballs. I've seen it on 30 Minute Meals twice and it has intrigued me. I will post the recipe if it's good.

Congrats to Kyle! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

:cheer2: :cheer2: Kyle Congrats, great news !!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: Continue to dig down and rock on thru those states!!!!

No cooking for me tonight we will be at my DP.

 Ron surprised me last night and made reservations for us to go to New Hampshire for Memorial Day weekend!!!! We are staying at the The Christmas Farm Inn & Spa...I am so excited:banana: ! He said consider it your birthday and mother's day gifts, works for me!

Ann

Good Morning!

Andrew has a game tonight so we will have something light before the game and Chinese food after. I tried to have dinner prior to the game but everyone was hungry again by the time we got home.

I had a whole quote thing going here and Tom just tells me he has to dress up today, so I have to go find something for him to wear :scared1: and the electrician is coming so I have to get him set up...

Be back later.

Good morning! Thanks to ALL of my dear friends here for the support for Kyle. Now if I could ask all of "His aunties" here to contribute to the "Prom fund", any donation would be greatly appreciated as he's using my tax check this weekend....:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

WFD - Cajun pork tenderloin, smothered potatoes and lima beans.

That would work for me too, how thoughtful of him!

How did I miss this??????? What a wonderful surprise for a hard working Mom :thumbsup2

Actually, it was cheese balls. Don't worry, she got plenty treats last night. And some Advil for good measure. And a bath with lots of foam soap to help seal the deal.

Ross's TV habits made me chuckle too. But at least this means you are able to watch things together.

:lmao: :lmao: Nancy you crack me up! I can now picture poor Buddy wondering how much of his life we are discussing behind his back and how many of his secrets you are spilling.

:rotfl: :rotfl: So is he taking the "good friend" who helped him through his break up?

Tonight will be some kind of baked pork chops. I'll post later tonight when I know for sure.

:lmao: :lmao: Nancy you crack me up! I can now picture poor Buddy wondering how much of his life we are discussing behind his back and how many of his secrets you are spilling.

Thank God he is such a good sport! It doesn't help that Marisa and Erica spill the beans and then embellish it all just to see his reaction :rotfl2: Before we got married he thought that he had lost his mind. Somehow something or something would come up and he would not remember agreeing to it. Then I would say "I could have sworn...." Well the poor man drives for a living and was alone all day every day working on his "memory" problem. I cannot remember how long it took before he figures out he had been had by the females in the family :lmao::lmao::lmao:. My sons had been trained by their Mama and knew better than to save him.

Good morning
Just checking in. Last night was venison and that god awful left over noodle casserole. Tonight is going to be something with Pork, forzen pork at that (I forgot to take it out of the freezer before I left for work:headache: ) Any ideas?
