We bring our coffee with us...it's typically cheaper than what we can find in the area around the resort, and it's not horrid like the Nescafe the resort supplies.

Double zip locked, to prevent "spillage" in the luggage. :)

love the picture w/ the zebra domes..can you order those through room service?

Hi Pilferk! :wave2: Haven't seen you on the AKL threads for quite some while!

Hey Floss....

Work's been nuts, and so has the planning for our upcoming trip. I get a LOT less time around the boards..so while I do "lurk" around a lot, I get a lot less time to post.

I really SHOULD hop over to the AKL lite thread and let everyone know I'm still alive.

:)

Thanks to everyone for the coffee info! You have been very helpful! I will pass on all the info to our coffee drinkers! :) We are all so excited for our stay.:banana::banana:

ONE word of warning:

If you are an absolute caffine addict, and need to transport LARGE amounts of coffee with you....it's very likely that your luggage will be searched en route. It's not a big deal (provided you use TSA approved locks, or no locks at all), so don't panic.

The reason being: Large amounts of coffee in baggage has, historically, been a "trick" used by drug dealers to hid the smell of drugs from the dogs. The authorities have gotten wise to that trick. A bag or two of your favorite blend probably won't arouse much suspicion. But if you're packing 1/4 of your suitcase's weight limit with Summatra or Jamaican Blue Mountain to brew while you're at WDW.....just make sure THAT suitcase doesn't contain anything you'd be embarassed for everyone to see.

:)

Here you go:

Thanks soo much. I searched everywhere and couldn't find one. We're going in august only could swing a parking lot view for 2 nights, but we're excited anyway.

Interesting! They like coffee but I don't think they will be bringing that much though!:rotfl:

Does anyone know where the wheelchair accessable family rooms are? Please
We stayed in a 1BR accessible room last week, room 7618 at Kidani. It is on the second floor, close to lobby, close to pool, close to elevator, and a great location.

Incidentally, if you're into pin trading, ask the concierge desk, they have a big book of pins specifically for trading with guests.

Stayed at AKL Jambo concierge level 1 bedroom lockoff room 6205 June 29-July 6.

Overall it was super! loved the concierge lounge, pool, Mara, lookouts!

:scared1:Bad News- 2 cockroach sightings and 1 cockroach "hearing" through the lockoff door that the other room had one.:scared1:
We don't really have those in our area and I know they are common in FL, just really gross and sort of unexpected for a deluxe resort.

glad you had a good time!
Those nasty bugs are all over Charleston too. I have grown up around them and they still scare the heck outta me!:scared1:
I would suggest asking for a higher floor next time. Won't guarantee to keep you from seeing them, but decreases the chances a bit.

Are you sure they were cockroaches? FL is home to a lot of roachy looking bugs that are not the kitchen pest kind. The standard cockroach would not be big enough that you could hear it from another room.

No, we didn't hear the cockroach, just the nieghbors screaming about it.
We were on the highest floor in the bldg so I guess there's no escape. There is a small kitchen at the concierge lobby that may attribute to the problem as well as the kitchens in the room.

I'm sorry if this has already been posted, I've been off the board for a while helping my dad RIP, we are headed to AKL in November can folks staying their swim at the pool area of the Villa's? Thanks very much.

Both pools are available to all guests at both Kidani and Jambo House (the original AKL which has been renamed Jambo House). Have a great trip in November! :goodvibes

Oh that is absolutely wonderful, thank you so much. My kids will be beyond thrilled, well and me too!!! It's been a rough summer so far so this is a bright spot.
