Do all the 1-bedroom suites currently face construction?

Are there any 1-bedroom suites that face on Zebra trail (besides the one that supposedly faces the jacuzzi)??

We just returned from a marvelous stay here. We had a 2BR villa that faced construction but I didn't even notice it. I never saw anything going on and the building looks so complete, I actually thought it was an extension of ours. We had the Sunset Savanna (I know there will be no animals here sometime next year but can't recall the dates at the moment. I know it's toward the beginning of the year). It was wonderful. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel for any animal lover. Our room was right above the check-in and a perfect location, close to everything and we had to cross that special bridge to get to our room.

Hello! Well, after a change to my resort choice (originally were booked CSR, but with Pepper Market not being in the DDP 2009, We chose to switch)... Anyway, Our first trip to WDW was January 2008 to share my husband's leave from Afghanistan with him somewhere special. At check in we payed the difference in price ($15.00/night approx) and upgraded to Club Level. Needless to say, the whole family thought that trip was extra magical! So, last night I called CRO after talking to my boys and hubby, and the consensous was they wanted to go back to AKL Club Level. I booked us for Sept 1-12, 2009.... and we are all excited to be going back to our favorite "home away from home!" It will be so exciting to share our days at such a memorable resort, and we are all excited beyond words! I know it is a bit more expensive (about 1400.00 more) but, it is our last major trip with our kids (who are 17 and 13 when we go).... and I want it to be extra special. I can't wait to look out my window and see my "beloved giraffes" again, LOL!!!

Call the hotel directly to discuss this with them. I believe 3 suites face Sunset Savanna and the other is a 1st floor on Uzima facing the hot tub. This is what I recall from a brief exchange with AKL Concierge. The hotel would be able to give you definitive answers, though.

I originally booked for CL in September, but with the deal we decided to go in March instead so we wouldn't have to take DD out of school and it's her birthday (and take advantage of the GC).

We initially booked for CSR for the deal, but I just couldn't get those pictures of the Lodge out of my mind, so I'm back at AKL! I'm so excited!!!

One of the CM's said that the CL rooms were included but were all booked, the next two CM's said they weren't included in the deal. Anyone know if they are or not?

Is there anyway to upgrade at check-in, I wonder.

Yes, we have AKL CL booked in June with the 7 for 4 discount.

Yes. It's been talked about over on the DVC boards for a while. It's due to construction to finish Kidani.

We have akl cl booked on the deal in late January. At first, it didn't show availabillity. Then it showed availability for some of our days, then I was able to add another day. So keep checking online and good luck.

Does the sunset savannah closure effect the CL or Savannah view categories? I've never been and only looked at the map.

No! The club level rooms face the Arusha Savanna on the Zebra or Kudu Trail. If you are staying club level, you are guaranteed a savanna view room.

We have a pool view room booked for our trip in 12 days, which area of the resort is this located? My 10 year old cousin said that she can't be near the animals, she didn't want to be able to look out and see them. I don't know why, she loves animals

I have only been to AKL for one 2 night stay and didn't enjoy it that much, but was advised that for a longer stay we would really love it, so I am counting on that. I am really looking foreward to it and for the savings I got, I think it will be worth it.

We are staying AKV's 1 BR savannah view from 3/1 to 3/11.
What room/building/trail should we request in our fax to insure a good animal view and location near the lobby???
It will be our fist DVC stay.

Anyone visit recently and have any news to report?

We were just there the 6th through the 13th and had a great time. There were 8 of us in a 2 bedroom villa (5310) and 4 in a room with bunkbeds on the 4th floor. At first I was disappointed that our rooms overlooked the Kidani Village construction, but it really didn't bother us. With the balcony doors closed you could not hear the noise in the morning and they were done working by the time we got back to the rooms at night. I have several pictures of the rooms, animals and Kidani Village. I'm not sure how to post them though, so I have to figure that out first.
