No. All the CL DVC rooms are on the 6th floor, very close to the CL lounge. I believe that some have pool views, but I'm sorry I don't have the specifics on the rooms.

This thread has been very helpful. We want to upgrade to deluxe but it needs to be one of the lodges. We have stayed at WL before. But the AKL looks like it would have more of a draw to me.

I'm still trying to make up my mind before we call. WL for location and AKL for the theming. The reason why we are upgrading is because with 2 small kids the go to bed early. Dh and I have said the balconey to us it worth the extra 1000.00 so we don't have to go to bed at 8 at night. We won't be able to get a savannah room. As much as I would like to I can't spend the extra on that. I would do a pool view. At WL we just had a standard view and we were fine.

I don't know when you're travelling so there may not be time (DVC often needs to be booked earlier than CRO), but, you may wish to consider a DVC 1bdrm rental. Likely about the same price and you would get a full kitchen plus a full room to spend the evening in while the kids go to sleep in the other room.

We are staying at Kidani 1 bedroom savannah view in April. It is me, dh, ds 6, ds 6 and dd 4. We are all excited about seeing the animals from the room and staying at such a beautiful resort!

I want to call and put in a room request. After reading the boards it seems like the following would be important to us:

--Sunset Savannah: It seems Pembe is not that great

--Second or third floor: Better for animal viewing. I would love the second floor so we don't have to use the elevator that much and have the "who gets to press the button" conversation

--Close to lobby: We will have a stroller for the four year old but the boys will be walking

I don't want to ask for too much since I have read that lowers your chances for getting what you want???

Any thoughts or opinions on what I should do? Thanks!

Are there any standard view rooms on the Zebra trail?? Bit the bullet and upgraded our resort, we have been back and forth with this since I first booked!!! So I just called and upgraded from POP but wanted a Pool view room, they only had savannah view or Standard. I took the standard, but do not want one of those rooms that overlook the bus stop area, parking lot I'm ok with but don't want to be near that smoking/bus stop area. I am going to look on the map what my options will be I would have definitely paid for a Pool view but was told none available. Can't wait to see all the Disers at AKL this April

There are a few standard view rooms on each trail that have obstructed views like zebra trail on the lowest floor. We ended up with a great standard view room on giraffe trail that was an obstructed pool view. It looked out into lots of greenery and a little pond and was IMHO much nicer looking than the pool (and no pool noise). It was also terrifically close to the lobby and a side door near the bus stop.

I wasn't sure where there were located, but that helps. I would love Zebra trail lower floor, because that would put you close to the laundry, and Mara right?

I have never seen any there. Nor have I seen them at any other resort except for at the character meals... There are lots of activities for kids at AKL, though. Sorry I can't be more helpful...

Well, until this past December, I would have agreed with you. However, one evening when we were there Donald & Daisy and Chip & Dale showed up. I realize that it was because of the holidays, but... they did show up!

Thanks. And no, we didn't wait list. My girls decided having a guaranteed view of animals from our room was more important.

I am new to the board and haven't read through all the posts, but can you explain what you mean by having a guaranteed view of animals? Are you saying that if you stay CL you aren't guaranteed the view?
