Thanks! :worship: That was what I was looking for. We were debating taking a day to go to Kennedy Space Center, but we will be going again in May 2011 and I think we will do the safari this trip and Kennedy next May.

Since the other one changed, thought I'd ask. Is the private Safari at AK that ends with bfast at Pizzasafari still for CL guests only? We tried for CL but it was all booked for AKV for our trip. :(

Yes its still CL only. I think its $65 per person. Did you put yourself on the CL waitlist for DVC?

Thanks. And no, we didn't wait list. My girls decided having a guaranteed view of animals from our room was more important.

I agree with your girls :) Which is why we won't every stay CL on DVC points. The view is such a huge part of the AKL experience.

And honestly, we liked the Wanyama (Sunset) Safari much more than the CL only Sunrise Safari. Its more expensive, but we loved the meal at Jiko and the overall safari and experience was amazing.

I am renting points to stay at Jambo. What would be the best way of communicating room requests at this point? I don't want to pester the DVC member to add anything else to the reservation as they have been great and already helped me reserve Magical Express. Is there a certain time frame before your arrival when a "guest" of a DVC member can contact the property to indicate preferences?

We are in a Savannah studio and I am hoping for Zebra trail close to the lobby.

Can anyone confirm that the 1 bedroom villa in Kidani sleeps 5. Please..

Thanks.;)

The Disney website states that the 1 bedroom at Kidani sleeps 5. There is a king bed in the master and a fold out couch and chair in the living area. I think you could also have a child under 3 in the villa (plus 5 others).

From my IPO email:

"Wanyama Safari is an approximately 1 and a half hour safari experience
at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge where a guest will experience a
re-creation of a true African afternoon game drive. An opportunity to
spend time with members from the Lodge animal programs team in a very
personal environment. Learning about the natural history and management
of the animal collection at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Incredible
photo opportunities of the animals and architecture of Disney's Animal
Kingdom Lodge that can only be experienced from our savannas . Your
safari will conclude with a true African dining experience at Jiko, just
like the lodges in Africa where a multi-course meal will await you which
may include a wine pairing. You will be meet at the Jiko Podium at 3:45
p.m. where you will be met by our animal Programs team. Safaris are
offered daily. Guests must be 8 years of age or older. The price for
the experience is $170 per person. Tax and gratuity included as well as
a small contribution to the Disney Conservation Fund. 48 hour
cancellation policy does apply so a credit card is required at time of
booking. Admission is limited to 12 Guests and can be reserved 90 days
in advance of arrival. "

My understanding is that this is open to all guests staying at AKL and this year they changed it so that the price is the same, whether you are CL or not.

Does anyone have the number to call and reserve this? Thanks!

Anyone that has been recently....how is the bus service now that Kidani is in the mix? We were there last May and it was fantastic.....Kidani opened on our last day of our trip. The buses didn't know where they were going to first Jambo/Kidani Kidani/Jambo our bus driver was getting frustrated because he wasn't sure where he was going. So :confused3 how has it been going? I am contemplating switching our resort back to AKL and this came to mind;)

I was at Kidani in December and the buses seemed great. There was only once during the almost 2 weeks when the bus filled at Kidani and in that case there was a 2nd bus right behind.

Thanks Donald for that information. Looks like they send more buses as needed. Now trying to decide if I should make the switch and spend more $$$$$:rolleyes1

AKL has the most efficient transportation than anywhere else & that's one of the many reasons it's our favorite.

We stayed in Oct and it seemed like the extra stop adds about 4-5 mins per trip because you have to wind in and out of each resort driveway. It's still good but not nearly as good as before Kidani.

I was at AKL this past July and we had NO problems what so ever with the buses! It was quite enjoyable to be honest and never had a problem with the buses getting filled up..

What are the choices? My daughter is on the QS plan and doesn't eat eggs. Are there other options?
Thanks
Denise

Besides the eggs with bacon there are also kids Mickey waffles with bacon and applesauce or grapes as well as a drink. I had those a few times myself because I just did not want the large adult waffle. I liked it a lot. :goodvibes

At most of the QS places (not just AKL) you can ask for an extra waffle, pancake, or potatoes instead of eggs on the breakfast platter. I don't eat eggs either, so I always just ask for a substitute when ordering breakfast. :)
