my family and I stayed at the contemporary for the first time Aug.22-29 This hotel was my husbands choice. I would not stay there again. I would pick AKL. The first time i walked into the lobby I was like oh my god what is that smell!!! It smelled so gross. Anyone have any idea what it was? I dreded going down to that lobby every morning and and comming back at night. It smelled every time. One night a group of people came in after us and I heard the guys say it smells like a** in here.

Bad coffee from the coffee counter???

Honestly, I have no idea what it could have been! I never noticed any kind of odor, bad or otherwise, anytime at the CR. Wonder what it was?

We were there from Aug. 20-Sept. 1 and didn't notice any smell. My brother and his family met us there half way through and believe me if there was a problem they would have noticed it.

I am sorry you didn't enjoy staying there and last month my family and I were there from Aug 11 - 21 and we never smelled anything each time we were in the lobby.

I am planning on taking a taxi from POFQ to CR and then walk from CR to MK. Where does the path pick up from the front of CR, and how long of a walk is it to MK? I have been looking for a map but have not found one that shows the path. I was sure that there was one, but maybe I was just dreaming it. TIA!

the path picks up by the bus stop. Depending on your walking speed, it would prolly take about 15 minutes

Last month while I was at the Contemporary I noticed the Concourse Steakhouse was still listed on a sign by the elevators, so you think they would replace it with the Contempo Cafe.

We just returned from the CR. We stayed Aug 29 - Sept 6th. The lobby did have a strange smell - sort of like dead flowers maybe. My wife did not smell it and thought I was crazy which is not a stretch....ha ha! Anyway, we absolutely loved the CR. Full review here.
