We are thinking of staying at the CR on our trip next year. The only room I am interested in is one with a MK view. Is there a big difference between the Tower MK view and the one on the Atrium Club level. I am just worried if we only book the Tower MK view room, we may get stuck on a lower floor with not as good of a view as you can get on the AC level. The only reason we would book the AC level is the guarantee to be on a higher floor. However if there is still a really good view even from the lowest floor, it would save us about $1,200 on the trip. This is one of those once in a life timem trips, so if the AC level is hands down the better view, I don't mind being out the extra money.

Personally my family and I have had the Magic Kingdom View as low as the 6th floor which is the lowest floor possible, because there are none on the 5th floor which has to do with the Monorail station and we saw no difference in the view when you compare it to the 12th floor. However if you plan to take full advantage of the Club Level offerings on the Atrium Club floor and the pre-planning from the Contemporary IPO Cast Members, then go with the Magic Kingdom View on the Atrium Club floor.

I just added room tip #9 to the 1st page and here it is.

The lowest floor you can get in the Tower with the Magic Kingdom View is the 6th floor, because there are none on the 5th floor and that has to do with the Monorail station being located over there.

I've stayed on both lower and higher floors, and there is a difference in that the higher you are, the better views you'll have of Splash, TTA, being able to see more of the castle, etc. That may not matter to some, but I enjoy zooming in with the camcorder and watching the boats going down Splash, which is hard to do from the 6th floor. :goodvibes That said, you will have a wonderful view in general no matter what floor you stay on. You will need to decide if the extra $1200 is worth it...in my opinion, if this truly a once-in-a-lifetime deal and you can afford the extra money, I'd go for it! :thumbsup2

CR Fan!

I totally plan to use the BLT pool when staying at BLT. I will not however say I wouldn't use the Contemporary pool. I am still unsure about a beach at BLT. If they don't have one, I may wander over to the CR to sit on their beach which means I will most likely use the pool. I don't think we can know just yet what amenities the new CR pool will have that will allow it to be better or different than the BLT pool. I don't undestand why the two pools aren't interchangeable in amenities.

I bought BLT to be at the Contemporary resort and use all its amenities. I don't feel that the BLT is a resort unto its own but a DVC building added to the Contp. We have no amenities at the BLT other than rooms and a pool (and that stupid supposed lounge, which I am sure will be shut down fairly quickly). So all my eating, shopping and recreation will be at CR. And I don't feel guilty about it either! I also think it is silly to ask the Contp guests to stay out of the pool at BLT. I just think of them as different types of pools. Maybe one more quiet than the other.

To answer your question, I will probably use the pool that has the least amount of people :thumbsup2

If this is a once in a life time trip.... I would go with the AC level!!! Not just for the view.... The consierge serviece there is wonderful! :goodvibes It can be really nice to enjoy the lounge and all of the food offerings!

I hope this helps...good luck with your planning!:thumbsup2

We are DVC members, home resort is SSR. Two years ago we made a point to pool hop one day, it was one of our non-park days and we liked the idea of being able to visit other resorts. Would I do it again, probably not, even with a car it was too much work.

I think most people want to hit the pool that's closest to their room. Even if it means staying at the quiet pool, our boys do this as this may mean a less crowded pool and isn't this what it's all about?

We are looking forward to our first stay at CR this year and hope the renovations around the pool area are complete by then.

Personally, I would stay in regular MK view (which is awesome, no matter what floor you're on) and save the $1,200. That's a lot of money, and I don't think the food on the AC level makes up for it at all.

I just can't wait to go! It is almost summer here in New Brunswick. Summers go by very quickly. We have just two months of real summer. The fall goes by quickly too...and winter, it never ends. Winter is when we begin our month long vacation and two cruises, one Carnival western carribean followed by Disney land and Sea package cruise with extra days added on in which we stay at CR!!!!!

:santa:charleyann

Thanks for your reply and I just want to add a few things. When you mention how you will do all your eating and shopping at the Contemporary you don't need to feel guilty about that, since DVC decided not to build any restaurants or stores inside Bay Lake Tower. Plus with the exception of the Contempo Cafe, I would be a lot of the people who go to the California Grill, Chef Mickey's and The Wave are not staying at the Contemporary or won't be staying at Bay Lake Tower. So they have always attracted guests from other resorts onsite and offsite to eat there. Plus those people would also look around in the stores on the 4th floor so I say once Bay Lake Tower opens you won't notice a different in the amount of guests on the 4th floor.

Well I always get the score updates on my cell phone, so I am still keeping up with the Leafs games. Plus in December 2007 while my family and I were at WDW the Leafs were playing in Tampa Bay, so we drove there and went to the game and that was one advantage of going during Hockey season.
