Any new pool news???????????? I promise to bring back TONS of pics if it'd done (or hopefully some good news on the completion date for everyone traveling after us)

If any one has any photo requests, feel free to post them. We are staying in a wing (unless they feel the need to updrade us ) and are eating at Cali Grille, Chef Mickeys and the Contempo. It is the very least I can do to help out this thread!

I am sure others will mention this but assuming the rest of the pool renovation is not finished in 8 days, try asking a few Cast Members when it will be and see if they tell you a specific date.

Also in the Fantasia store where they sell the pins can you please ask if they will sell public pins that say Bay Lake Tower, which would be available for anyone to purchase. So obviously I am not referring to DVC member only pins which are totally different. Finally at the Bay View Gifts store can you please find out if any non DVC member merchandice for Bay Lake Tower will be sold there?

You're welcome. Sometimes it's easy to get tunnel vision when you're on the DIS and we forget that other sites exist.

Only 8 days? Have you started packing? I look forward to your CC review and, did you do online check-in? Oh, and you have to report back on your son's reaction to the big surprise!

no packing yet, but I have started to think about what we should wear. I went to gymboree today for their big 30% sale and helped the cause along

No online check in planned (I used a TA anyway). We should arrive around 11am so hopefully the line won't be too long anyway! Plus, I like chatting with the CM's at the check in desk. Other than a DISASTOROUS trip to POR, we have always had awesome CM's check us in!

5 more days till the surprise is revealed too!! I am BURSTING!!! DS was lying in bed with me the other night talking about all the fun things he likes to do at WDW. He BEGGED me to stay at the CR next trip (we are booked for our fmaily trip at the GF after T-giving) Talk about willpower not to spill the beans right then!!

Thanks again for everyone's advice/info/support!! If anyone else has anymore requests of stuff to find out, post away!

Well the only thing I can is you need to determine if you think the Contemporary will be the best place to stay and the only way to find out is by staying there.

This is a question for anyone who has an upcoming stay at Bay Lake Tower. Since you will also have access to the pool at the Contemporary do you plan on using it or you don't plan to, since Bay Lake Tower will have it's own pool. I am just wondering because I want to get a sense of how many would take advantage of that or is this rule just for DVC members staying on points since they can legally pool hopp and not cash guests at Bay Lake Tower? Also if others did take advantage of that I would hate to see the Contemporary pool get over crowded where it means Contemporary guests can not get pool chairs.

I also want to say I am not criticizing this rule and I have no problems with it. However the same way Bay Lake Tower guests don't want their pool over crowded with Contemporary guests since we can not get access to it, you would understand Contemporary guests would not want the same thing to happen with their pool.

CRFan, I have no upcoming plans to stay at BLT, but I will put my 2 cents in on the pool hopping thing....

I think pool hopping is ALOT more UNcommon than the Dis boards would lead us to believe. I, for one, never even considered using another hotel's pool I can see where SAB might have some issues, but I think the other "regular pools" would be safe. Sadly, a lot of things seem to get overblown here on the Dis, and makes it seem far more widespread than it really is. In the grand scheme of travelers, we on the DIS really are a small % of folks traveling to WDW at any given time.

As far as BLT guests using the CR pool, it might happen if their pool is suddenly packed to the rim with people, but I would suspect they would keep to "their" pool. I know I am not one to walk farther to one pool when a perfectly good one is right out my back door!

I too have never even considered pool hopping...we will be at BLT in Dec and if the weather permits us to use the pool we will use the one at BLT not at CR

Since this question never got answered I am going to quote myself and ask it one more time, because I would like to try and get some answers about it.

We'll be staying at BLT end of September. We plan on using the pool there and as of right now I can't really see any reason we'll use the Contemporary's pool.
