Thanks everyone for the kind words. I really appreciate it!
I will be trying very hard this summer to get into the building and get some more pictures and more info to add to the website.
"True" information about the new building has been very hard to come by. The only things in writing have been press releases, and DVC members words are usually a little different every time. One common theme I have noticed, is the noone really seems to know much yet. The CR cast members have been going through some DVC training at Saratoga.

The only hard fact I have been able to get is you need a room key to get across the bridge. But, what about the front door?

I also wonder how hard the pool rule will be enforced after a while anyway. It may be there now, just because there is so much curiosity, but after a few years, this will all be old hat.
And like CRF4L said, the new pool at the CR is probably as nice or nicer as the BLT.

Dina and I will still be over at the Bay Lake Pool. that pool is our home, and the Contemporary is our home. BLT is just another way to stay at the hotel.

I said it before and I will say it again your site is amazing, so keep up the good work you do on it. :thumbsup2

does anyone have any pics of the renovated pool at the CR? I was wondering what kinds of changes have been made? I am still trying to decide between a split stay at the Poly and a moderate or value, or a week in a garden wing room at the CR...My DD loved the Poly pool because it was a zero entry and loved the theming...I am curious to see the changes at the CR pool :)

Craig I agree...its a great site! Really enjoy it :thumbsup2 I am a fan of the Bay Lake pool too...it has such great views out over the water....:thumbsup2 I am a fan of the Bay Lake view in general...I think that view from the rooms is just beautiful!

hmmm...nice pics, but what did they renovate exactly? It looks the same as the last time I remember walking through :confused3
I am not sure what part of the pool was renovated, however you need to take into account that the renovation around there is not 100% finished. So once it's fully completed I am sure you will notice a difference.

Thanks! I am really on the line at where to stay...CR vs Poly again...I am reading through the whole thread right now, and I am really close to giving the CR a try! :thumbsup2

Here is another reason why I think the Contemporary has the best Magic Kingdom View.

When comparing prices for the Contemporary, Polynesian and Magic Kingdom Views, no matter the season the Contemporary has the least expensive rates and you get a full view of the Magic Kingdom. The Polynesian and Grand Floridian rates are more expensive, plus you will only get a view of Cinderella's Castle or Space Mountain and your view might be obstructed by trees. So in my opinion doesn't it make more sense to pay less and get a full view at the Contemporary?

thanks for the info! I would like to stay in the Contemporary for my birthday next year! But I don't know anything about the Contemporary! Please help!:confused3

I just added Club Level tip #5 and here it is.

When you arrive at the front entrance and have a reservation for the Atrium Club or Tower Club, a Club Level Cast Member from either floor might be waiting for you to arrive and will then take you up to your floor so you can check-in. That happened to my family and I when we arrived in December 2008 for our Atrium Club reservation. However in the past when we have arrived on previous trips there were no Club Level Cast Members waiting for us and we went up to the Atrium Club floor with the bellman since he had our luggage. So there is no guarantee a Club Level Cast Member will be waiting and I guess it depends on how many are working on either floor, to see if one is able to welcome you when you arrive.

Welcome to CR! To start out with I would read the first few pages of this thread and then start asking us all the questions you want.

You also might also want to check out the CR Photo thread

This is a question for anyone who has an upcoming stay at Bay Lake Tower. Since you will also have access to the pool at the Contemporary do you plan on using it or you don't plan to, since Bay Lake Tower will have it's own pool. I am just wondering because I want to get a sense of how many would take advantage of that or is this rule just for DVC members staying on points since they can legally pool hopp and not cash guests at Bay Lake Tower? Also if others did take advantage of that I would hate to see the Contemporary pool get over crowded where it means Contemporary guests can not get pool chairs.

I also want to say I am not criticizing this rule and I have no problems with it. However the same way Bay Lake Tower guests don't want their pool over crowded with Contemporary guests since we can not get access to it, you would understand Contemporary guests would not want the same thing to happen with their pool.
