Hi everybody.
I'm Craig from ContemporaryResort.net.
Thanks for the links to our site and the kind words.
My wife, Dina and I both love the Contemporary. It has become as much of our trips to WDW as any of the parks.
I started the site, just to have a record of the different parts of the resort that we have been able to see. Especially with the many changes that take place through the years. The site has grown into a litle bit more.

Yes there is a microwave in the Contempo Cafe that you can use.

I'm glad you like the pool loop. We had a lot of fun putting it together over the course of a few trips. I should specify that we always sit at the Bay Pool, not the main pool. Sometimes, the two pools have different loops.
Once, they were even playing the lobby jazz music at the Bay Pool. But, over the past few years, I have grown to really love and expect the music at the pool, that I decided to make sure I always have it available.

I'm the one who posted a message on your site about your great pool music being linked to on here. Interestingly, a few pages back on this thread, someone mentioned that your music is different from what they heard last year. I recognized it as being the same from our trips. Sure enough, the poster got out her video she took at the CR pool, listened to the music, and reported back that it was indeed a different collection of '80's/'90's music.

Your exterior CR photos are lovely, especially the sunsets.

OMG I'm freaking out!

We just upgraded to a MK view!

Less than 48 hours, and I'll be at CR

I'm not going to promise pictures, because I know how bad I am about that...just ask my husband who has been waiting for photo albums from our last 3 or 4 trips... It's just not one of my strong points, what can I say.

Anyhoo...

I will pay attention to the pool area and try to get "the scoop" about what exactly is going there (splash area/landscaping/??), and we generally do quite a few CS meals (mostly breakfast) at the resort, so I'm hoping to add onto that Contempo "confirmed snacks" list over on the restaurant board.

We're booked in the garden wing, and I made no special room requests. Last time we were upgraded to the tower, which would be great but we're certainly not counting on it. We're renting a car, so if the buses become an issue, we have a back-up. And we have an ADR for dinner at the Wave one night, so I'll be sure to post about that as well.

That's about it for now - any other requests for info, fire away and I'll do my best. Have to go finish packing...

Here's hoping for a swine flu-less, bed bug free trip.

When your going to be there can you please find something out for me. Back in December I find out that part of the valet parking rows were turned into extra self parking spaces, because a lot of spaces are not available because of the Bay Lake Tower construction. Anyway when you get a chance can you please ask if those spaces will still be used for self parking or will they go back to being valet parking spots once Bay Lake Tower opens?

The new parking lot is great!! They converted MOST of the old valet lot to self park! the 30 minute spots have been moved into that old valet lot also. So now the valet only has a few rows of that closest lot, but you no longer have to self park way out next to the road!
The gates are still up in the lot but left open.

yes! I am so glad I finally got some pics of the old sundries shop because I was taking it for granted that it would never change. I will miss the old shop though. It was the only place on property where I could find the original logo. the logo was on the fridge doors. I'm sure they are gone now.

One of my friends who is also a huge Contemporary fan also told me about the original logo on the fridge doors, however I do agree that chances is they are now gone.

the new parking lot looks pretty permanent to me. it has been repaved and repainted. the new valet has its own gate and a permanent concrete curb poured to seperate it from the self park.

I would assume it is going to stay in its current layout. the old valet lot was WAY to big.
