The ALL NEW Disney's Contemporary Resort & Bay Lake Tower FAQ with PICs! (FEB 2010)

If you are only seeing suites available for your dates maybe all their other rooms are sold out for convention guests which can happen, however the key is to keep checking a few times each day to see when other rooms become available. You never know when that might happen.

Now if you stayed in their Garden Wing section it's a 5 minute walk or less to the Tower and it's under a covered walkway. The main difference with the Polynesian is that the Contemporary only has 1 Garden Wing section and not several of them, so it's not confusing and etc.

Also here is a tip about the Contempo Cafe mug stations. They have two of them and one of them is shut off at 10:00 PM which is the one closest to Chef Mickey's. Then their other one is shut off at 12:00 AM when they close for the evening, so unlike the Food & Fun Center you can't drinks 24 hours a day and that includes their Coffee, Hot Chocolate and hot water machines.
So when you walk from the Garden Wing to the Tower, is there an elevator that brings you up to the 4th floor (to the monorail)? We will have a stroller. The Garden Wing actually looks really nice, saw the pic with the ducks..kids would love that.

Once you enter the Tower from the Garden Wing on the left side will be the regular elevators that go up to the 4th floor and all the other floors in the Tower. Then when you are on the 4th floor right besides the bathrooms and the arcade is another elevator which will take you up to the Monorail station.

Starting today (03-24-2011) for the next 30 days, guests will be able to utilize free wireless Internet in certain areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The pilot program is to test a new design of a wireless/cell phone coverage configuration. Free wireless Internet access will be available only in the lobby, main pool area, The Wave Restaurant and lounge, and the Convention Center common areas.

You connect to the network option labeled “Guest – Access (unsecured)”. Once you click on that option, you’ll be taken to a screen that prompts you to accept the terms and conditions. After accepting the terms and conditions, you’ll have free wireless Internet access. Guests can take advantage of Internet access in areas that aren’t part of the pilot program for a fee – $9.95 per day for public areas (wireless) and $14.95 per day for guest rooms (wired).

Here is more info. that I found:

For a limited time, free wireless Internet service is reportedly being offered in select areas of Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Website WDWMagic.com is reporting that free wi-fi service is available in public areas of the Contemporary Resort. According to the site, the free service is part of a program "to test a new design of a wireless/cell phone coverage configuration."

Areas offering free service include the lobby, main pool, The Wave restaurant and the Convention Center common areas. Look for the wireless access point named "Guest - Access (unsecured)."

The complimentary service is scheduled to be offered into late-April. Guests are advised to read the terms and conditions carefully in order to determine whether or not service is still free.

Thanks for posting al that information, hopefully it will be able to help others who are staying there during this time.

I have a room booked for November. We've never been before. My reservation says "Garden view wing". Are all garden view rooms in the south garden room building? or are there some in the main hotel tower? Was just curious what building we may be in.

There is only one Garden Wing building and it's located to the right of the Contemporary Tower.

Hello CR lovers,

I was wondering what you guys think about Atrium Club Level Theme Park View?
It just became available for my dates and wanted to know if you guys think it's worth it? Should I save my money and eat at Cali Grill? Suggestions would be helpful! Thanks so much!!:thumbsup2

Well I think it's worth it because of the view and the fact I always enjoyed each of my Club Level stays up there. However the question is do you think paying extra for Club Level is worth it?

I really don't know! I have never stayed club level anywhere...LOL...=) That's why I came in here asking....From your experience...what is special or included? by the way what is your favorite club appetizers??

If you look on the 1st page I posted the menu for the hot food offerings, along with various pictures of the lounge. Besides that for breakfast it's continental style with various Cereals, Pastries, Bagels and etc. You also get to check-in on the 12th floor so that means not having to do that in the lobby.

Now the view of the Magic Kingdom is the same on the Atrium Club floor compared to the regular floors in the Tower. At least that's my opinion because we have stayed as high as the 14th floor and as low as the 6th floor, so we didn't notice a difference.

Thanks so much!! What time do they close for breakfast? Also do they have a fridge with cold sodas? Also wine and beer??

Oh my ... I forgot to post this before I left for the Mayo Clinic. One of the merchandise managers told me something on Sunday that is sooooo wonderful. First, you all need congrats on this ... your writing letters and mostly the exit surveys (the one you do the morning you check out in the lobby of the resort and the other one that some people get sent to them via email or USPS a few weeks after getting home) are the things that did it!!! RESORT SPECIFIC MERCHANDISE IS COMING BACK!

Don't forget that the Beer and Wine is not put out until 5:00 PM and is now taken away at 10:00 PM.
Yes, but you can still ask for a beverage if it's not in the fridge. For example, if you want a milk or a beer in the afternoon, they will get them for you.
