Has anyone ever received a towel animal or any other special towel concoction at CR?

This was in our suite when we arrived, but we did not get any more.

Hi all!
I need a lot of help! Or at least that is what my family thinks. :rotfl2:
Anyhow, I would love to throw out a few questions to all of you experts. I have read almost all 100+ pages of the thread and now I am a bit confused. But then again, it's not that uncommon. :lmao:
I will start off by telling you we are not new to WDW, but this will be our first DVC stay. We have spent most of our past recent stays at EPCOT area resorts. :earsboy:
This will be our first trip 'home' to BLT and we are super excited! :cheer2: I have read many reports and studied the chart of villa locations. We arrive the Sunday before Thanksgiving around 4:20pm and plan to take ME to BLT. Guessing we will arrive around 6ish? Should I do the online check in ahead of time or wait until I get there to check in? I made my reservations exactly 11 months out (even woke up at 4am my time to do so~see why my family thinks I am nutty?) so I am hoping they will honor my request of a high floor room. Should I call and confirm at some point that the request is still on my ressies? It doesn't show up on the DVC page. Also should I request a particular room for a great MK view? :tinker:
My next question is a strange one. I need to know how far of a walk it is from BLT and Shades of Green/Magnolia Course. We rented a car for a day to go to Universal and we need to pick it up there at 8am. I was hoping to take a nice walk, but am wondering if I may need to use Disney transportation and/or take a cab? Any suggestions?
I am sure that over the next 2 months I will have a lot more questions and appreciate and help offered. :flower3: Thanks!

You're welcome. We were on the 12th floor and it turns-out we were right next door to CRRF4L and his parents, but I didn't find this out until he recently posted his room number.

That's really cool. I know the DisBoards and WDW is a pretty big place, but I wonder how many other DISers we have passed in the parks or stayed next to over the years.

I can't answer all your questions, but what I can say is that it's not recommended or a good idea walking over to Shades of Green or the Magnolia course, so I would either take a taxi or speak to someone at the Contemporary and have them arrange something for you.

Thanks CR! Any idea why it's not recommended?

Hello everyone!

Just booked what would be a surprise birthday vacation for my DS for Jan 14 to Jan 18. His bday is Jan 17. He'll be 10. Not sure if we will actually be able to go, but I sure am hoping we are!:cool1:

Went ahead and reserved the room only ressie. Booked with the 40% deal and am so excited to have MK view Atrium Club!!!:woohoo:

Stayed CL at BC once upon a time ago, and it was one of our best vacations. Hoping CR will be just as great.

Booked CR because it is the next resort on DS's list. He thinks that CR looks very "gourmet.":rotfl: Could have something to do with our dining experience at Cali Grill in June 2009, which I booked again on his actual bday!

Anyway, I just wanted to stay at any monorail resort on our next trip, so I wasn't picky. (DH and I had decided on our first trip that we would like to stay at each and every resort at least once, so we are working our way around the world so to speak.)

I'll be reading this thread now and probably posting again if I can't find the answers.:goodvibes

We are military but prefer to stay elsewhere. In June when we stayed at BLT we rode monorail to Poly then got off there and used the walkway to SOG. Not a bad walk at all. There are signs at the Poly for the walkway.

I was wondering about going from the Poly! Thank you so much for the advice. :thanks: I think I will plan on walking from the Poly. If I need to, I will take a taxi from Poly.
I would also like to thank your family for serving our country. It is an admirable choice!! My 14 year old son hopes to become a Marine pilot after college.

We just returned from a week's stay at the CR, MKV. Here are some pictures:

We were on the sixth floor and initially I wasn't happy about that. However, once we got to the room and saw the view, we decided there was no need to be any higher up. I'm not sure why we always think higher is better at the CR. I've seen the view from 15, 11 & 8 and didn't appreciate any difference worthy of moving to a higher floor. My word of advice: if you don't get a higher floor, don't sweat it. Your view is still going to be pretty dadgum good.

The last time we stayed at the CR, we didn't find the sinks annoying. But this time, it seemed like they never drained. It occurs to me that some of the rooms might have that issue more than others. Either way, it didn't really affect us.

I was up really early one morning and grabbed some shots:
