hi,

weve usually stay in the garden wing.
I know on the WDW site they have split the rooms into different categories.

Does anyone know how long ago this was done?

The 3 categories i would like more info on are
garden wing-standard view
garden wing-garden view
garden wing-deluxe view

I can tell what the standard/garden view rooms are like, its the deluxe room im confused about.

Thanks for any help :goodvibes

The deluxe gardenwing room is a larger room. It is in a "L" shape. When you walk in, there is a wet bar area with refrigerator. In the main area, there is a chair/ottoman, a pull out sofa (VERY comfortable), a desk, armoire area with television and a king bed. There are windows/sliding glass door the go the length of the room. The bathroom is also larger also. It has a separate shower as well as a tub. There are only 3 of them in the gardenwing. I would request to be on the first floor. There is a large patio and it overlooks the pool and baylake. We stayed there over Easter a year and a half ago. LOVED it. :goodvibes

We are going to DWorld for Christmas this year and we are staying in the bay lake tower one room suites. What is the best way to ensure we get a good room with a view without having to pay for it when we check in? Our reservations have been made but I am thinking they just assign us a room when we get there.

Thanks in advance for your help!

It really depends on which category you booked. Essentially there is the standard, bay lake, and theme park views. Sound like you probably booked standard with the hopes of getting a nice view??

Here's a link to the room views and locations for BLT.

oooh thanks for that, may have to treat ourselves next time.xx :goodvibes

At bay lake towers...How accessible are the stairways. Let's say we are given a room on the 6th floor can you use the stairs to get to the 5th floor walkway or do you have to take the elevator all the time?

I haven't been posting much over here, but I just wanted to wish CR Fan a great trip if I don't make it back before you leave! :goodvibes (Also, I can't wait to hear what you think of BWI CL since we are booked in the same category room in November...)

Thank you very much and we are actually on our way to Clearwater Beach right now and I am posting this from a Hilton Garden Inn located in Lexington, Kentucky off Interstate 75.

I apologize if this is posted beyond page 1 or I just totally missed it on page 1..... Is there a chart or something that will tell me what floors/locations specifically of the garden standard view rooms are. Thanks!

You were about 3 hours east of me when you posted this. Have a great trip.

BTW, DW and I agreed on small BLT contract. We are watching the resale market to see if anything turns up available during our UY that we would want. If not, we will probably purchase through Disney by the end of the month. Looking forward to staying at BLT.

Hope your trip is extra magical!! Your posts on CR have been so helpful to us in planning our first Disney Vaca! You were about 45 minutes from us when you were in Lexington. Hope you experience some Kentucky Hospitality during your stop!!!:cool1:

I am always happy to help and we had a great time staying in Lexington.

Today on our e-mail we got something from Disney Destinations and it was a reminder that our Contemporary stay is upcoming and I assume it was also a reminder that we can start to check-in online, because that was also mentioned. It's also the very 1st time we ever got something like this sent to us before, because we never had it e-mailed on our previous trips.

We got an email like that for our second stay last year but it was the first time. We had never gotten one before including the one earlier last year.
