Well my DS just told me that we are ( hes 9 lol) staying here ( monorail fanatic). My DD ( 16 ) only wants to know one thing. Does the arcade have Dance Dance Reveloution in it ? Hopefully someone here whos been in the arcade can help . My other DS is ok as long as it has a pool. And I just dont want to know what it will cost. lol Thank God I have a pin code! BTW they only have Mk view rooms left so I guess I will " have " to take that . :goodvibes
My DD can't remember, but I found a thread (it's from '05) that asked a similar question. Maybe this will help you until someone else has a definitve answer about the CR:

I just asked my 11 year old DD and she said they do. My 13 DS confirmed it but was very clear that he didn't play it. :rotfl:

This was as of 08/09-90/09, so sorry if the info is dated.

Staying at the BLT for the first time in about 2 weeks! Anyone have an idea how much time we should allow to travel to the MK?

Should you choose to walk there I would say it takes about 10 minutes, however if you want to use the Resort Monorail from the Contemporary it takes about 20 minutes when you factor in stopping at the TTC, Polynesian and Grand Floridian before arriving at the Magic Kingdom.

Thanks everyone! My DD loves that game. To her it makes the trip. :confused3

We have had to cancel 3 trips in a row ( 1 time sickness, 1 time money , and one time to get our service dog) and couldnt make up our mind on a resort so I am happy we are finally be set. We are going to get our service dog ( for my DS) and will only have had him for a month and a before we take our trip so its a crazy time. But we just couldnt cancel again! I am sure being at the CR will be advantage with having the dog. I am still a bit stressed about pulling everything off with finances so soon after

I am a bit scared of heights so when they told me that a MK view was 5th or higher I was bit nervous. But I am sure having that view will help me get over it quickly.

One thing I am also wondering about .. ok well a few..
1. Even though the monorail takes longer going to the Mk , it is fast coming back right ? Isnt it the first or second stop? I am thinking we can always walk over and take the monrorail back if we had a full day and the kids are worn down. ( I dont get worn down at Disney ever! lol)

2. How are the washer dryers ? Are they junky ? ( any pictures?) Where are they located ? I know most nice hotels I stayed at I hated the washers. And I like to keep on the clothes . especially with a teenager that is always changing.

3. How long on the boat to get to Wlderness Lodge ? And if you take a car how long to Epcot about by the time you park and all that? And lastly ( sorry) is how long to Epcot by monorail? I know its been answered before but I cant recall it .

Thanks everyone. Sorry for all the questions. I remembered when we considered going before how helpful you all were. Now I finally get to join the CR club . :goodvibes
BTW I am going to be setting up a live stream so I will make sure to post here to let you all know .

1) When leaving the Magic Kingdom via the Resort Monorail the Contemporary is the next stop. I am not able to answer your 2nd question, however for part of answer for your 3rd question when going to Epcot via your car I would say it takes about 10 - 15 minites, where as the Monorail could be 25 - 30 minutes.

Seems to me the boat to the Wilderness Lodge is quick (first stop after the pickup at CR) - maybe 5 minutes? You've got to try it at night . . .so pretty!

As to Question 2: Are you staying in a studio or 1 BR at Bay Lake Tower? We stayed there last December in a 1 BR and they have a washer and dryer in the closet in the 1 and 2 bedroom suites. They were new and great. Can't comment on laundry facilities in a laundry room though.

Also, being able to walk from the MK to Bay Lake Tower is a great option when you leave after the fireworks or a parade. The lines for the monorail can be really long at those times and it's a short, easy walk

The CR laundry is on the 2nd floor of the Garden Wing. I didn't actually go in, but we walked by everyday. It was usually empty in the afternoons and got busier as it got later in the day. It was crowded at night and very loud in there with the tv on and all the machines going. I remarked that I wouldn't want to be in one of those rooms right across from it.

I can not remember how the route goes because it also shares with Fort Wilderness and at same point during the day they switch the order it goes.

I agree that doesn't sound like a room I wouldn't want to also stay in.

Sounds good. Nice to know we can be back quick if the dog gets tired or overheated. As scenic as the monorail to Epcot sounds not sure I could stand a 30 minute haul. Might do it just once though. I bet it looks awesome as you pull into Epcot when your on it.

I will. It does sound nice. Maybe we have dinner over there one night. Thanks

Ugh I wish . Really wanted / needed a kitchen and washer / dryer but the 1Br were all booked up. Only studios available.

Doesnt sound like fun. I hope there are some laundry facilities in the main building. I would hate to have to lug way over there. Dont you have to go outside to get over to the garden wing in fact?

EDIT: Just confirmed that that is indeed the only place for laundry. That is going to be really a pain but what can I do? Was hoping it would be closer to the room.

Something important I wanted to ask again. The woman at reservations said on the phone said that the Mk views start at the 5th floor. And since I didnt like heights that that would be the floor to request. But I just skimmed through the board a bit and it seems there is a problem with the MK view on floor 5. Someone said it doesnt start till floor 6. Im confused. Is it blocked in some way ? I would be upset if I paid for the Mk view and it wasnt really one at all.

Hello! I figured I'd check here before starting a new thread. In October my fiancé and I will be getting married in Disney. The nights prior to the wedding we borrowed points to stay at blt. (one of the discounted wedding hotels is cr). We are going to stay at the cr for the wedding night and the next 2 nights, before we leave. My question is do we book a regular garden view room or go all out and an mk view room. Are the mk views worth it. I know it's possible to get upgraded sometimes but I don't want to count on that happening. One of the nights will be free so we will only to pay for the 2 other nights. I want it to be special since these will be the first nights we will be a married couple. On the other hand the wedding night we will be doing a dessert party at epcot the next night we will prob drink around the world and that last night I'm trying to get v&a possibly the chefs table so I'm not sure how much we will be in our room looking at the mk.

Any opinions?

Yes it is and before the Monorail arrives into the station at Epcot, you will go all around Future World.

Well I personally think the Magic Kingdom View rooms are worth it because the Contemporary is the only Magic Kingdom Resort that offers you a full view of it, where as the Polynesian and Grand Floridian Magic Kingdom View are only of Cinderella's Castle or Space Mountain. My personal feeling is you can only call it a Magic Kingdom View if it faces the whole park and not just one part of it. Now some people might say well you will also see the Contemporary parking lot from there, however I think once you see how great it is you won't be disappointed. Finally I posted a picture of what the Magic Kingdom View looks like on the 1st page in the 1st post on this thread incase you haven't seen it yet.

I called back the CRO today and asked them again what floor the MK views start on telling them I heard that there were no views on 5 because of the monorail . They said no definately floor 5 and that nothing interfered with the view. Now I know how infamously bad the CRO's are at giving accurate info on the phone and if anything I trust a Dis'er . Especially yourself being a CR expert. I just wanted to add that they are still telling me on the phone 5th floor. I am going to reluctantly request higher as I put a lot more stock in what you say. And given we require a vip clean so its not easy to switch if we get a bad room.

Well I can honestly tell you when I have been on the elevator in the Tower and it stopped at the 5th floor there was a wall covering the side where the Magic Kingdom View rooms would be like on any of the other floors. So anyone getting off there had a Bay Lake View. Plus a few years ago we once had a room on the 6th floor which was right over the Monorail station.

Well I trust you more than them. I am going to ask for a higher floor then the 5th then. I told the guy I was scared of heights and he said 5th was the lowest Mk view floor. But I would rather bump up a few floors based on what you said .

The guy also said " Oh dont worry. I am terrified of heights as well and have stayed there over 20 times and never been bothered. In fact if you look over your balcony and fall you would only fall to the balcony below you because of the way its stacked. " I just said
" Oh THAT makes me feel MUCH better! " :lmao: He thought I was serious.
