I'll be interested to see, also. We ate at the Wave last October before MNSSHP...we REALLY liked it. It wasn't my first choice of restaurants, but it was the only one that we could get into with 9 people at the last minute. Great service, cool atmosphere and terrific food!! We couldn't have been more pleased.

Does anyone have a preference or a tip for which rooms in the Garden Wing are the best?

Not that I'll be able to get my choice, but having a few options might be handy.

Booked for Sept. 10-17.

We loved the ground floor GW/GV room facing Bay Lake. I recently posted a couple of photos of the view here.

I would request a room facing Bay Lake. Also, the 2nd and 3rd floors do not have balconies.

Have a great vacation and :welcome: to the DIS and the CR thread!

I like the ground floor rooms because they have a patio! I forgot exactly what room my dad had last year but it was nice b/c you look left and get the pool, straight ahead you get a glimpse of bay lake and the water pageant, and to the right you have the garden area. He was in the first building right past where the hallway curves...

edit: it was 5112! My dad remembered!

Do the BLT Club rooms have balconies? I know it is the 12th floor, but not sure if they have a balcony that you can open, or if it is just glass. We have a 5 year old, and i'm so nervous :scared1: Thanks for any info.

BLT is Bay Lake Tower, the DVC (Disney Vacation Club) building and there are no Club level rooms. The Atrium Club level Bay Lake View is in the original Contemporary building on the 12th floor and yes, there is a balcony with a sliding glass door out on to it. There are two locks on the door, one high enough that a 5-year old would not be able to reach it.

Have fun!!!

Also, the Magic Kingdom or Theme Park View rooms in the CR's Tower also have sliding doors which lock the way that WAWDWLUVER describes, as do the 14th floor Tower Club level rooms. The only rooms without balconies are the 2nd and 3rd floor Garden Wing rooms.

Are you all packed? I hope you have a great spring break!

Seeing as how the room categories for the Atrium Club are listed as Atrium Club - Theme Park View for the rooms on the Magic Kingdom side, have you ever wondered why WDW doesn't call it Atrium Club - Bay Lake View for those rooms on the other side? As of right now it's called Atrium Club - Standard Room and some people have been confused not knowing if you book that specifc room that you will get a view of Bay Lake. The thing I find most funny about that is how on Janurary 1, 2009 is when WDW changed the room categories since either view was now available by reservation, so it meant no longer reserving the Atrium Club and requesting the view you wanted. So why is it they actually took the time to call one side the Atrium Club - Theme Park View and didn't call the other side Atrium Club - Bay Lake View.

Thanks for the info on the balconies. We are Atrium - standard club level. I had requested the MK view, but guess we didn't get it.

You are so right CR Resort fan 4 life.. it is very confusing:confused3 So glad that the boards are here filled with great people to help:worship: I am in the process of packing, we are so excited! This is our 2nd trip, our first trip was last year around this time. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Club level last year, and wanted to try CR this year. My DS loves the monorail, so this will be a treat for him.

You will be getting the Atrium Club - Bay Lake View, however you can still see the Magic Kingdom anytime you want from the lounge. Anyway I hope you have a great time staying at the Contemporary.

It doesn't make sense to me either and it's bad marketing. All the other resorts' "standard views" are a nice way of saying "parking lot view." The Atrium Club standard view is about as far from a parking lot as you can get. And, didn't the CR's TPV used to be MKV? TPV makes it sound like they're not sure which park view you'll get, but MKV described it perfectly and so would BLV for the Atrium Club instead of standard view.

Also, I have never noticed a Tower Club room/suite show-up online, have any of you? If you didn't know it existed, it would remain a relative mystery club level to most.

On a lighter note, I was able to change our AKL/CL reservation to the CR/BLV today:worship:. I did have to change our arrival to two days earlier, but it's for a good cause. So now I think our reservation is perfect: Five nights in the Tower and seven nights at the BC/Deluxe CL room:)

That is frustrating, isn't it? Is this the email you used?

contemporary.itinerary.planning@disneyworld.com

Sometimes the IPOs don't initiate contact with the guest. You did the right thing by trying to contact them Sunday. You should have received the auto-reply and a personalized response within 24 hours. Since you didn't, please re-send your email to the address above today and let us know what happens. Oh, and congratulations on booking!

Also, here is the phone number and fax for the CR/CL IPO:

(407) 824-1775 - fax (407) 824-3461

I did resend the information and the phone rang not 5 minutes later and it was the concierge at the CR-talk about serivce! She said that they had been having issues with the prodigy account users bouncing back!

CRL4L-after going back and looking, it does say Atrium Club level with MK view. : )

I don't get why they don't label it as BLV either, but I guess they figure since there's one labeled as MKV, then people will know that the one that isn't labeled as a specific view is BLV.

I am still hoping for a non-club level room to pop up, but so far, no luck. It's $418 more than BWI WV where we were originally staying. My gramma doesn't mind the cost, but I sure do! I am going to wait for a non-club level MKV because it's $36 cheaper than staying at BWI WV and I will feel a lot better about the price. I am emailing my gramma about switching to CR to make sure she is ok that we are staying there. I know she will be because she wants us to stay wherever I want to stay, but I at least want to her to know ahead of time, but I'm not telling her that we are staying club level. I will keep that detail out. :rolleyes1
