The adventures of Tiggerdad (A collection of camping locations, mishaps, reviews, alterations, food, and whatever else I can find)

Went to see it last night, thought it was very good.
And yes, don't leave til the house lights come on

Back from seeing Ghostbusters: Afterlife and I have to say I really enjoyed it, the ending was very sweet. So thanks for the suggestion, @tiggerdad! :thumbsup2

And I did stay till the very VERY end (was the only one) and I think the blinking red light in the basement (not to give too much away here) is a tip to some future GB story/movie to extend the franchise. This movie today was good because it was so closely tied to the original characters. Don't know how long the screenwriters can maintain that high level of continuity, though.

Oh and the Tuesday Super Saver movie ticket price is only $5.50.

Ed

PS - and WTH the Tom Cruise/Maverick movie that was slated for this Christmas (originally May 2020) is now pushed back AGAIN to May 2022? 🤬

Glad you enjoyed. Certainly leaves an opening for future movies.

Yeah, the Top Gun push back kinda set me off too.

Michael,

Were you able to get your site booked for Grand Tetons yet? I'm having a bear of a time. Just wondering if we can commiserate together or I have goals to aspire to.

I have everything else locked in for the trip, except Minuteman Missile tours (which I fear won't be open for refurb).

No, I was not. Colter Bay RV park is only one with sewer, so it went fast. Like, literally gone as soon as it opened. It opened up booking at 9am central time Tuesday morning. I was on the site with our sites in the basket ready to click "book". Was using the time app to make sure I had right time. As soon as clock said 9am I clicked book and instantly every site went grey and was already taken.

Recreation.gov got me highly suspicious.

Anyway, everything else in Jackson is massively pricey all of a sudden (can't imagine why). So, Randy and I got back together decided staying in Cody, WY for 2 days was the next best option. We booked the KOA there 14 and 15 of June. We'll just have to do an abbreviated tour of Tetons one of our Yellowstone days.

I have a very similar experience. It's like trying to grab a BG for RotR.

I'm still not totally out of my window yet. If we totally strike out, I think we're going to head to the Natl Forest and boondock. We're prepared for it, but going to have to drag the turd hearse along to extend our gray water legs (boooo).

Made a discovery this morning while opening Christmas presents. As some of you know we have 3 cats, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Have for nearly 2 years now. Over that 2 years there have been a lot of play toys bought. The mystery: why they disappear?

Today we noted Huey was trying to dig his way under part of the sectional. I decided to see what he was after. We have always used a broom handle to sweep the toys out, but there were none to be seen. So we flipped it up.

Closer inspection of the inside of that black skirting...

Couldn't reach them, so we just surgically removed the skirting.

This what found, or at least what we could hold. Likely near 30 of them total.

Michael, might want to loop back on Colter Bay RV Park if you haven't yet. I've found partial days open for the week I want. The cancellations and modifications are opening up a lot.

Good luck

We went ahead and booked Cody, WY for the two days. It was actually a plan B from beginning given several folks I know been out there and had good things to say about it.

I figured this would be the case. Recreation.gov is easy to book large lumps of days then cancel out to fit the real plan.

Finally getting back out camping. Back to our local favorite Foscue Creek campground in Demopolis, AL. Recent storms has Tombigbee River 4 feet above flood stage.

Usually you go down steps on the deck to a sandbar...

Some folks passed the lifestyle of RV and became the higher tier river floaters.

Some of the river barge traffic.

Nice sunset over Demopolis Lake. Lake is formed by the Demopolis lock and dam.

Night time barge traffic.

That campground looks great. I'm going to have to make a trip down that way sometime.

If you come here, sites 49, 50, 51, and 52 sit right on river. The other sites are scattered around the flooded creek bed which is good for fishermen because they can park boats right at camper. You can't do that at the above mentioned sites. Very clean here.

Site 53 is short. @bama_ed would fit perfect on it. Site 54 is really good shade. These two sites typically didn't have very good view of river but they've thinned the brush and now they have good views. I'm going to get ED to stay there at least once.

Across the river from him in Northport is a Mr. G pizza. The original (and better version I might add) is in Demopolis. Always an arrival day tradition.

Took advantage of Harbor Freight discounts this weekend and pulled trigger on an inverter generator to use when dry camping. It'll certainly come in handy in June for the Yellowstone run.

Quite pleased with it as far as sound goes. Very quiet.

Those inverter generators are one of those things that the technology continues to get better and better on still across the board. I still have my Honda from my tailgate days and it still purrs away.
